00:03 The Arizona Diamondbacks saying, you know what?
00:05 Maybe we don't have the biggest payroll in the league.
00:07 We're playing good baseball.
00:08 Who knows?
00:09 Maybe we could chase down the Dodgers
00:10 or the San Francisco Giants.
00:12 And for me, Joe, you can never have enough good bullpen help
00:17 they go and get a closer from the Mariners,
00:19 welcome them down to the desert.
00:21 Great move for the Diamondbacks, but also at the same time,
00:24 I scratch my head and go,
00:25 what are the Mariners actually doing?
00:27 You're in it right now.
00:28 You're playing really good baseball and like, yeah,
00:30 it's cool.
00:31 We're gonna sell most of our team here
00:32 and still see if we can make the playoffs.
00:34 So two-sided attack here, Joe.
00:36 Arizona getting a closer and the Mariners
00:38 trading another closer away?
00:40 - Well, if I'm an Arizona fan,
00:44 I'm glad to see that they addressed the biggest need
00:48 that that team has.
00:49 And it has been bullpen.
00:51 And we know that they're in the bottom third
00:53 of just about every statistical category.
00:55 That bullpen was hot trash there.
00:58 So of the needs of the Diamondbacks,
01:00 boy, oh boy, was the bullpen one of them.
01:02 And you went out and got a front end closer there.
01:05 You got a guy that has certainly proven his worth
01:09 and he is going to make this team better,
01:11 especially in the late innings.
01:14 If you're the Mariners, you're going,
01:16 we heard all sorts of things, right?
01:18 They're willing to part with a bat or two,
01:22 that, you know, I didn't even know that Seawold
01:24 was gonna be up and available at this point.
01:26 But again, this is now two of the last three trade deadlines.
01:30 They've gotten rid of a top closer in all of baseball
01:35 that was on their team.
01:36 They got rid of Graveman, shipped him off to the Astros.
01:39 And then we've got the Mariners now are saying,
01:42 yeah, now we can do without Seawold too.
01:44 So unless I'm missing something, Donnie,
01:46 they might be stacked with a bunch of young arms,
01:49 which could very well be possible with Seattle.
01:52 Maybe they've got a whole bunch of young arms coming up
01:55 and they figure, hey, they can afford to move on
01:58 without having to.
01:59 And I would imagine at 33, that's what Seawold is.
02:03 He's probably due for a contract in the near future.
02:06 And they're just like, nah, we're good.
02:08 We'll move on.
