00:13 In the face of floods and heavy rains,
00:22 the Department of Health has seen the rise of leptospirosis cases in the country.
00:27 According to the agency, 182 new cases of leptospirosis
00:32 from June 18 to July 1,
00:34 42% higher than the previous two weeks.
00:38 From January, more than 2,000 leptospirosis cases,
00:43 225 of which died.
00:45 According to the DOH, Region 3 recorded a continuous rise in cases
00:50 in the past six weeks,
00:51 with an estimated number of cases recorded from July 2 to 15.
00:55 In addition, the DOH also saw an increase in leptospirosis cases.
00:59 More than 9,400 cases were recorded from July 3 to 4,
01:04 16% higher than the previous two weeks.
01:07 In the month, more than 80,000 cases of leptospirosis
01:11 were recorded in the country since January.
01:13 All regions, except Region 3, BARMM and Caraga,
01:17 showed an increase from July 3 to 4.
01:21 Almost 300 cases were recorded in the market,

01:29 Now, wild diseases or waterborne diseases,
01:32 influenza, leptospirosis, and dengue are in the news.
01:35 The DOH reminds us that,
01:37 even if it's not raining,
01:38 avoid throwing garbage everywhere,
01:41 avoid getting wet,
01:43 and if you can't avoid it, wear boots.
01:45 Don't drink dirty and contaminated water.
01:47 Always remember the 5S strategy to avoid mosquitoes
01:51 and always prepare a go-bag, especially for those living in flooded areas.
