00:00 >> Biggest preseason expectations for you guys so far since you guys have been here.
00:04 Just obviously in Jordan to handle those expectations that are coming.
00:08 >> Right, I think, I mean, the noise is out there.
00:12 But for us, just not paying attention to what those expectations are and
00:16 our expectations as a program is to be better today than we were yesterday and
00:20 be better tomorrow than we were today.
00:21 It's just that continual improvement and get 1% better.
00:25 >> Coach Niggins was talking about just letting players be themselves.
00:28 Just how much of that is part of that as well?
00:31 >> I think letting each player's own personality and
00:35 character come out is critical to helping those guys feel comfortable within the
00:39 system, but also, I mean, that's who we bring in here.
00:42 We bring in guys that are the right fit for the way that we wanna do things.
00:45 And the older guys help bring the younger guys along.
00:50 Right now, we're in a unique situation.
00:51 We have some guys that have played a lot of football for us.
00:53 And then we have some really talented newcomers that are getting helped along
00:56 by some of those guys that have been with us.
00:59 >> We asked Jordan in the preseason last year, what do you want to show in 2022?
01:02 And he said, I'm a pastor.
01:05 What do you want to show everybody now in 2023?
01:09 >> Just continue to grow.
01:10 Every single day, just continue to grow.
01:12 I've said it a couple times today already.
01:14 I mean, Jordan is the epitome of trying to be the best version of himself.
01:20 And I think that's why that he's put himself in a consistent position to be
01:24 successful and I mean, I think just the consistency and intensity,
01:29 how he goes about his work, I think that's gonna pay off in the end.
01:33 >> I mean, you're closely watching all the quarterbacks, but
01:36 I think fans wanna know who might the number two quarterback be who might get
01:39 a lot of snaps, right?
01:41 >> Right. >> How do you approach it from a mindset
01:43 and what are you kinda looking for from all those guys?
01:45 >> Sure, I think we have the luxury of having a lot of talent in that room right
01:49 now, and they're all at different stages in their development.
01:53 I think that they'll all get time, you know what I mean?
01:57 They're all gonna get thrown in the fire a little bit this fall camp and
01:59 everything, but the biggest piece of it is just to continue to put them in
02:02 competitive situations, competitive environments, and
02:05 then ultimately the play speaks for itself.
02:08 >> How big could this year be for next year for those guys?
02:12 >> I think one, something that I don't think gets talked about enough,
02:17 so we talk about Jordan as a leader, as a whole, but
02:20 the leader that he is in that room, I mean, it's a man to watch.
02:24 Whether it's Tate, whether it's AJ, whether it's Brock, whether it's Dylan,
02:28 whether it's Michael, I mean, he is always trying to help those guys out.
02:34 I mean, you get guys like Brock, he's an absolute sponge.
02:36 He's been in Jordan's hip pocket since day one.
02:40 He's been on campus and everything.
02:42 And then guys like Tate and AJ, who have a little bit more experience than Brock,
02:46 I mean, they're still cool enough to ask you, Jordan, Tate,
02:49 what can I do on this, how did you see that, what can I do better here?
02:52 And I think I gotta give credit to Jordan just the way that he's led that room.
02:57 >> We gotta.
