Lasith Malinga has taken a record 5 hat tricks in his international career. However, he is the only cricketer to not only take one but two double hat tricks. You might ask, what is a double hat trick? Well, a double hat trick is when a bowler takes 4 wickets in 4 consecutive balls. Malinga has achieved this feat twice. The first instance was during the 2007 ODI World Cup against South Africa, where he dismissed Shaun Pollock, Andrew Hall, Jack Kallis, and Makhaya Ntini. The second time he accomplished this was in a T20I match against New Zealand, where he dismissed Munro, Rutherford, Grandhomme, and Ross Taylor. Additionally, Malinga is the only bowler to take 3 ODI hat-tricks.
