We hit the Merrion Centre to ask shoppers what issue they'd like to see tackled in Leeds.

00:00 What's the biggest issue that you'd like to be tackled in Leeds?
00:03 For me, honestly, it's the public transport because I don't drive and we rely on buses
00:08 to get around and some of the buses sometimes are like, "Is it going to come? Is it not?
00:12 Am I going to be stuck in town at night?" I don't know. So honestly, just getting a
00:15 public transport system that suits the amount of people in the city at the moment, I think.
00:20 What's the biggest issue that you'd like to be tackled in Leeds?
00:24 Mental health.
00:25 And what would you like to see done?
00:28 I'd like things to be done quicker for them rather than leave them to years, then say,
00:35 "Oh, he's got mental health problems, we need to sort it out." Nobody seems to care about
00:40 people with mental health problems until it's too late. And then they find it hard to get
00:46 the help they need, which is another issue for their natural health. Nine times out of
00:53 ten, they always end up in hospital anywhere where they shouldn't go. And that's hard because
00:59 they don't get the help soon enough, or quick enough to help them.
01:03 What's the biggest issue that you want to see tackled in Leeds?
01:08 What do you think?
01:11 I don't know. We're located from South Africa, so we're quite new here yet, so we haven't
01:16 experienced much yet.
01:17 I think maybe just in terms of transport, I think there's definitely a bit of an issue
01:21 in terms of transport. Just too many people, too little transport, that system's not working
01:27 too good at the moment, I think. That's what I would say.
