00:00 Welcome to Rebellion!
00:05 I'm outside the venue of Rebellion and please everyone come to visit me if you're in Blackpool.
00:12 By the way I love the Blackpool people that are so welcoming for all of us.
00:19 It's so cool that such a small town has such an open mind, you know.
00:24 And I really feel at home here.
00:26 I'll be back every year, every single year, wind, rain, snow, I don't care because this
00:33 is the most beautiful place to be and yeah, keep rocking!
00:40 To be honest I decided to just stick outside because I know all the artists and I thought
00:45 I was adding more with my performance outside than to be inside just as a part of the audience.
00:51 And Rebellion doesn't really need to sell more tickets.
00:55 It's a very successful festival, it's a point of reference for everyone in the world that's
01:00 within alternative culture, right?
01:01 Are there any local businesses that have been really welcoming to the clubs?
01:06 I really love the Lowery Cafe.
01:09 They're there for breakfast every morning and then the Vintro is really cool because
01:14 they allowed me to perform here because of the rain.
01:18 And well, I think that the whole Blackpool people are so cool and the whole businesses
01:26 are really great.
01:27 It can't be a better place for Rebellion to happen, I think.
01:33 So what bands have you seen so far?
01:37 Not many to be fair, I'm going to start drinking over that.
01:40 I saw Crass last night and that was really funny.
01:43 Yeah, I think we've only seen like Exploited, Crass.
01:46 Not many.
01:47 So are there any particular bands you hear for?
01:48 Or is it more just the atmosphere?
01:49 I got the Meteors tonight, I knew what I wanted to do, so I definitely see them.
01:59 It's one of them, isn't it?
02:00 You've just got to go with the flow and see what happens.
02:01 And what do you think to it, like the whole atmosphere?
02:02 Oh, I love it.
02:03 It's just the one weekend where it's just family and it's great.
02:04 I love it.
02:05 Last year we came and we saw The Stranglers and Majolity John down at the other one.
02:19 That's not on this year.
02:20 Who have you seen so far this year?
02:23 I don't know, but we've come from Bradford and we've come to see New Model Army, because
02:29 they're from Bradford and we sort of know Justin and that, so that's what we've come
02:33 for, a bit of New Model Army.
02:34 Do you always follow Bad Manners?
02:36 Have you seen them many times?
02:39 Oh, quite a few times.
02:42 Last time I saw them in Tickles and they were brilliant, they were very good.
02:47 And I got all Buster's autograph and the other people in the band autograph, but they were
02:53 very good, very good.
02:56 Yeah, this is my second.
02:59 Last rebellion we saw The Stranglers outside, you know where the Blackpool Tower is, and
03:07 that was very good.
03:08 And we saw Jilton John, you know, him who sings 'I've been going out with a girl, her
03:14 name is Julie'.
03:15 And she's called Julie.
03:16 Yeah, and I've called Julie, and I used to listen to that when I was younger.
03:22 It's a shame about the weather, because last year it was really nice and it was cracking
03:26 up, packed out, because it's a bit rainy, but you can't, if it rains it rains, but it's
03:31 still good, look, everybody's around, so we still have a good time, getting on, no trouble
03:35 ever.
03:36 It's really good.
03:37 Yeah, yeah, I've met some good people, they're alright, yeah.
03:53 I just want to be fun, forget the problem, but punk life is not fun, it's not happiness,
04:00 it's not 'haa', it's about problems, you against the government, you be truth, you make people
04:07 uncomfortable because you're truth, you know, you need to support yourself, what you believe,
04:14 your ideology, the anarchy, the real anarchy, don't be inside you.
04:18 This year, because of the weather, and it was the first one with Covid, it was a lot
04:21 more busier, and there was a lot more, I'd say, variety of bands on, but I think this
04:27 year for the most part it's been quite calm, the weather's maybe no help quite a few times,
04:32 but it's what it is, it's Blackpool, you cannae really predict what the weather's going to
04:37 be like most of the time.
04:38 Are there any bands that you're here to see?
04:41 New Model Army.
04:42 Gay Bikers on Acid.
04:43 Yeah, the Gay Bikers too.
04:44 Ring on Sunday.
04:45 The Gay Bikers too, mate.
04:46 And then my pals band Nasher, they're playing at the Washington, so we're going to go see
04:53 Nasher, and that'll be good.
04:54 Are there any bands you're here to see?
04:56 A wide range of bands.
04:58 Today it's New Model Army to start with, and the Meeters, isn't it?
05:03 And then, aye, we're just going to go and have a wee wander.
05:06 We've met so many nice people, and chatting to people from all over the world, it's been
05:10 great.
05:11 Yeah, good laugh.
05:12 We've talked to quite a few people from different countries as well, so everybody's really friendly.
05:18 A big mix of people.
05:19 How many times have you been to L.A.?
05:20 This is the second time.
05:21 Second time.
05:22 And I'll definitely be back.
05:22 This is the second time and I'll definitely be back.
