00:00 Hello Leeds, Alex Grant here from the Yorkshire Evening Post and today I asked the public
00:04 whether they still have remaining Covid concerns after the government confirmed that a new variant
00:10 is causing a rise in cases. Many voiced that they remain cautious when in crowded places
00:20 while others voiced that with most people now vaccinated against the virus it's important that
00:28 we just continue our lives as normal as possible. So do you have concerns then about sort of
00:36 potential rise of Covid again? I think it's still around, probably a new variant,
00:41 but if we're in crowded places we still put a mask on. I've got it in my bag now.
00:47 And do you feel like that's the sort of best, you know, just continue to sort of follow the
00:53 same sort of guidance, just sort of, you know, play it safe when you're in crowded places?
00:58 I think you have to look after yourselves,
01:01 probably now because they don't seem to be doing anything else about Covid now.
01:05 Try not to go where there's a lot of people, you know, and we go to more or less same places
01:13 each week so we're mixing with same people. We don't stop in, it's mostly,
01:22 we're out nearly every day but we try to avoid crowds. And would you say you've lost a bit of
01:30 your sort of confidence in public in terms of since Covid or? I think when it was really bad
01:38 people didn't seem to bother whether they, I mean we know one or two that don't care whether they
01:44 share it or even if it's just the cold, they don't mind still going out and mixing with people.
