00:00 So it's Alison from Sheffield Star. We're out here today asking people about, well there's been a bit of a spike nationally as far as Covid cases go.
00:07 Still small but they are going up by and large. What do you think we should do if Covid cases continue to rise? What's your response to that?
00:14 I think just keep going, like it never be a cold.
00:18 Yeah, everyone's been vaccinated so all the precautions have been put in place and not much else you can really do about it.
00:25 Back in the day of course there were a number of things they did like mask mandatory, there was the two minutes apart kind of rule with groups of six, lockdown for heaven's sake.
00:34 If any of that should come back in force or is it about personal responsibility?
00:39 I think personal responsibility but I think the most that you could probably do is ask people to wear masks again. I don't think that would be a good response to it.
00:48 I don't think there's any need for any sort of social distancing to come back because most people have had it before so most people have built up an immunity for it.
00:56 So just get on with it.
00:58 We're out here today to talk to people about, well nationally there is a statistic that Covid cases may be back on the rise again.
01:04 It's still quite small all things considered but they are going back up again a little bit. What response do you think there should be if cases continue to rise?
01:12 I think it's important to keep it like thinking this is similar to another flu and that we need to kind of treat it that way.
01:23 But also there seems to be certainly, I know a lot more people that are vulnerable to Covid and have long Covid.
01:31 So something that addresses the impact of what a return in Covid could have specifically to this group of vulnerable people I think is very important.
01:43 Let's say there were a number of measures during the height of the pandemic. There was masks, there was a proper lockdown map, there was two minutes of facing that.
01:52 Should any of that come back in or has it just become about good hygiene and being mindful for example?
01:57 I think it should be about people being more mindful. People are used to wearing masks.
02:03 I think if people have colds, if people feel ill, it's courtesy to keep away from other people.
02:10 But we don't know who might be vulnerable, we don't know who could be affected by it more and maybe could wear a mask.
02:18 I think that Covid has kind of raised that awareness a bit more about looking after each other.
