National Learning Camp, patuloy na isinasagawa ng DepEd para tulungan ang mga mag-aaral na hirap sa Math, reading
Transcript
00:00 The Department of Education is continuously building the National Learning Camp
00:04 to help students who are having a hard time reading and doing math subjects.
00:11 Kenneth Paciente has more.
00:13 Angela brought her grandson to school early in the morning.
00:19 Even though he's on vacation,
00:21 he continues his studies under the National Learning Camp or NLC
00:25 that is being implemented by the Education Department.
00:28 She brought her grandson to NLC because it's hard to read.
00:32 So she said it's okay even though he's on vacation.
00:36 It's okay as long as it's continuous.
00:38 So that his brain can improve and learn.
00:44 More than 100 students of President Corazon Aquino Elementary School in Quezon City
00:49 are part of the NLC.
00:51 And each class is taught reading and math.
00:56 But did it become effective?
00:59 For NLC teacher Rona,
01:01 they saw an improvement in the students.
01:04 Their excitement to learn.
01:05 We really encourage them.
01:07 We motivate them that they need to learn to read.
01:10 We need to do this so that when we come to the next batch,
01:14 they won't have a hard time.
01:17 But aside from the NLC's goal to reduce the learning loss of students,
01:21 the NLC also supports the Department of Education to improve the teaching of teachers.
01:25 Here, like me, I'm not a reading teacher.
01:28 But I teach how to make a child read.
01:32 How to use the strategy to make the child learn to read.
01:38 Aside from elementary school,
01:40 NLC also implements grade 7 and 8 in high school,
01:44 just like the high school law.
01:46 According to the school's leadership,
01:48 they are encouraging the students to fill the class with activities
01:50 so that the students won't get tired.
01:53 So these are the concepts of all the subjects involved,
01:57 like math, science, and English.
01:59 This is the concept where we know what the reality is.
02:09 The school admitted that the attendance of the students
02:14 was affected by the bad weather of the Egy and Falcon.
02:19 But they immediately stopped it.
02:21 We have advisors in each section.
02:28 They provide information and additional activities
02:35 so that the program will continue.
02:37 Even if it's at home or school,
02:40 we still have one objective.
02:47 The National Learning Camp of DepEd will last until August 25.
02:51 That's four days before the school year 2023-2024.
02:57 Kenneth Paciente, for the people.
