00:00 You have Devontae Adams as a potential bust this season, Michael Fabiano.
00:04 You better explain yourself.
00:06 Go bold or go home, right?
00:08 It's not about Devontae Adams.
00:09 I mean, obviously he's one of the elite receivers in the league, maybe the best pure wide receiver
00:13 in the National Football League.
00:14 But I'm concerned about the quarterback situation in Las Vegas.
00:17 And Jimmy Garoppolo's had a one wide receiver go for a thousand yards as a starter.
00:22 And he has also missed 17 games combined over the last four years.
00:27 He's dealt with injuries.
00:28 He's coming into this season coming off of foot surgery.
00:32 He is just not a reliable player.
00:34 And the quarterbacks behind him are Ryan Hoyer and Aiden O'Connell.
00:38 I mean, Jen, that scares me a little bit.
00:40 OK, I want to address those quarterback concerns.
00:43 I get it.
00:44 But, you know, in the last two weeks of the season, while playing with Jarrett Stidham,
00:47 Devontae Adams saw 20 targets.
00:49 And in one of those weeks, he finished as the wide receiver, too.
00:52 As far as Jimmy Garoppolo is concerned, you know, amongst quarterbacks that started at
00:56 least 10 games last season, he had the fourth best completion rate.
01:00 You know where Derek Carr ranked?
01:02 29th.
01:03 He didn't even make it to 61 percent of completed targets.
01:06 And on a per game basis, in those 10 games that Jimmy Garoppolo played, he had more passing
01:11 yards per game than Derek Carr.
01:13 So if I told you that Brian Hoyer and/or Aiden O'Connell was going to start six games this
01:20 year, you wouldn't drop Devontae Adams in your rankings?
01:23 No, I wouldn't.
01:24 You're a lot more confident than I am.
01:25 Oh, yeah, I am more confident.
01:27 And you know what else?
01:28 I want to also address the ADOT thing that everybody's bringing up.
01:31 Yeah, I get it that his average depth of target was really high last season, but that's because
01:36 Derek Carr stunk.
01:37 So he had to throw a lot of hero balls, and Devontae Adams made a lot of hero catches.
01:41 But throughout his career, Devontae Adams hasn't been a high ADOT guy.
01:45 He's going to be heavily targeted, and he can run any route.
01:48 70 percent of his routes last year were out wide, 30 percent in the slot.
01:52 No matter what quarterback is playing, he is going to be the guy.
01:56 Remember Darren Waller's gonzo.
01:58 This is Devontae Adams' game.
02:01 If Garoppolo can stay healthy for 15 games, I'd feel pretty good about Devontae Adams.
02:06 I'm just not feeling pretty good about Jimmy Garoppolo staying healthy for 15 games, especially
02:10 coming off of foot surgery.
02:12 I would still draft Devontae Adams, but I'd rather have a guy like Stephon Diggs or A.J.
02:18 Brown or C.D.
02:20 Lamb.
02:21 If I do draft Adams, I am going to do it with my fingers crossed, hoping that Garoppolo
02:25 can avoid the injury bug.
02:27 Completely understand, but Devontae Adams going in the middle of the second round right
02:30 now is starting to feel like a real bargain, especially in PPR leagues.
02:35 Because listen, even if he doesn't get those deep throws, he's going to get a whole lot
02:40 of targets, probably even more than he did last year with Derek Carr.
02:43 But you guys should decide for yourself.
