00:00 And now let's look at the statue that will be a reminder to you
00:04 when you pass through Quezon City and Pasig.
00:07 At a height of 60 meters,
00:09 the Victor is taller than the Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt
00:14 which is 20 meters.
00:16 Compared to the Statue of Liberty of New York in America,
00:19 it will be taller if you remove its pedestal.
00:23 The Liberty is only 47 meters tall.
00:26 And let's look at it live in the spotlight of Rafi Pima.
00:30 Rafi!
00:33 Vicky, this is the beautiful view of the new attraction
00:38 here in a part of Marikina River in Bridgetown
00:40 where you can see a huge statue named Victor.
00:45 A public art installation that according to its creators
00:48 symbolizes the success of Filipinos all over the world.
00:53 If you haven't been doing this part for a long time
00:56 through Bagumbayan, Quezon City and Ugong Pasig,
00:58 don't be surprised to see this public art installation.
01:01 At a height of almost 200 meters or 60 meters,
01:05 the Victor is one of the highest public art installations
01:08 in the world designed by film artist Jeffrey Manuel Figueras.
01:12 It's really the global Filipino
01:14 and it's to honor those hardworking Filipinos
01:16 that are doing global accomplishments
01:19 and still sort of honoring their Filipino pride.
01:24 It's supposed to be the highlight of Bridgetown along with the bridge.
01:27 Although the statue is made of solid steel,
01:30 its skin is perforated or mesh.
01:32 It was designed to withstand strong storms that always come to the country.
01:36 That is one of the reasons why it's made of a perforated stainless steel
01:42 in order for the air and the wind to pass through.
01:46 We want this as an inspiration to everyone.
01:49 The Victor is hoping that this will become part of the tradition
01:52 of Filipinos who have succeeded in their goals
01:55 or want to succeed in what lies ahead.
01:57 There's going to be a podium here by the foot of the Victor
02:00 in which all of the ones who want to compete in the future,
02:03 they can go up there and they can put their hands on the feet of the Victor
02:07 and then they can have a ritual right before they compete
02:12 so that every time they do so, the whole country is wishing them luck.
02:16 It's also close to some of the best football pitches
02:18 including the FIFA approved football pitch
02:20 and the obstacle course racing or OCR course which is the biggest in the world.
02:25 Aside from the statue that crosses the Marikin River
02:27 that will serve as a shortcut between Quezon City and Pasig
02:30 that was designed by the National Artist for Architecture, Francisco Bobby Maniosa.
02:35 He also hopes that this will become an attraction.
02:38 Even though it's not yet a formal opening,
02:40 it's already lighting up and people are already asking to take a selfie in the new attraction.
02:44 It can be placed in front of international locations and tourist spots.
02:50 It's also relaxing to look at so every time I pass by here, I still look at it.
02:55 Vicky, the ones who made the statue of Victor, like the Statue of Liberty in America,
03:04 are hoping that Victor will pass through the stairs and it will become a symbol of the country.
03:08 The developers of this place are also helping the local government of Quezon City and Pasig
03:13 to make the river beautiful and make it an attraction.
03:17 And the latest from Pasig for GMA Integrated News,
03:20 Rafi Tima with a 24-hour newscast.
03:23 Thank you so much, Rafi Tima.
