00:00 Oh, that's a much cooler in here.
00:09 So hot in that thing in there.
00:11 Before we start guys, we'll just do a separate couple of minutes for the Mondays, afterwards.
00:22 So this is for the Sundays, okay?
00:25 Sean, first of all, what are you looking forward to in that game and that performance?
00:29 Very frustrated with the outcome because I thought we played well.
00:33 I thought a lot of the things we're now looking for, working with these players to bring to a performance, were there.
00:40 Especially first half more so, limited them to almost no chance or certainly I can't remember anything clear.
00:47 Whilst creating, I don't know, I think we had nine or ten in the first half and five of which are high quality.
00:55 So the mix of performances is right when that happens but we've got to score a goal.
00:59 We'll go on to the referees' decision in a minute but second half much the same, we let a couple of easier chances get against us.
01:08 But we're still looking on the front foot, still looking to score goals.
01:11 One of the highest chance counts I've had since I've been here I think and the highest quality of chance, which has always been my thing.
01:16 It's not about making loads of chances, it's the quality of chances. There was lots today.
01:20 In terms of converting those chances, are you confident that the answer to that lie within the squad as it is?
01:26 I'm confident that we have to rely within the squad because this is what we are at the moment.
01:31 If we can affect it, we will do. It's not easy, as I've said, but we are working with these players.
01:37 Roughly the same players all today, obviously. Young he played. Arnie will get fitter and sharper.
01:42 Dom will get fitter and sharper. He's at the end of his rehab now, amongst other players who are at the end of their recovery period.
01:49 The idea is you get them out there to create a better version of chance and more of them.
01:55 We did that today, but you've still got to take them.
01:58 You mentioned Dom there. Was there any thought of getting him on the bench today or was the thought precified of not being in the match?
02:03 Because he's not at the end of his rehab. Once his rehab is finished, then we'll be clearing him.
02:08 And the referee's decision in the first half, obviously, the Michael Keane...
02:12 I'm a big fan of VAR. I don't know, for me on this occasion, why...
02:20 I get the idea they're kind of promoting the idea the referee's decision is first and we're there to support it.
02:25 But on today's one, that's where it should step in for me.
02:28 I've seen it. My gut feeling at the moment was that.
02:31 You can normally tell because their bench didn't reference, didn't go mags.
02:35 I think they thought, "Oh, that's probably a goal."
02:38 I can't really work that out. I've seen it back.
02:44 Turkey does nothing, really. Minimal contact of any kind, other than the keeper catching it above him and landing on him.
02:49 I don't know what he's meant to do. As a player, I have no clue what he's meant to do.
02:53 So, therefore, why he's given us a foul, I just don't know.
02:57 The ref said he gave the decision. I just offered him a view that that's why VAR's there, in my opinion.
03:02 That's where it should step in. And the minimum should be you go and look at the monitor.
03:05 The minimum for me. But if you're sitting in the studio watching that, I'd be amazed.
03:10 I'll ask to see what they said, but I'll be amazed if you're sitting there and you didn't think that was a fair challenge
03:16 because he didn't do anything to put the keeper off, almost think he's going to get hit, actually,
03:20 and sort of cower away and bend over as if, "Here he comes," sort of thing.
03:24 And he drops it. So, what do you do?
03:26 You spoke to Neil in the dressing room. What did he make of his performance today?
03:33 He was in the right areas, but just...
03:36 No, I want the strikers, I want all players to get in the right areas. And he did.
03:41 So, you've got to keep getting in the right areas to score goals.
03:45 So, yeah, that's what we want from the team, getting in the right areas.
03:48 And eventually, if you create that many chances and you keep doing it relentlessly,
03:51 you will score goals and you win games. That's what I've learned all my life about football.
03:55 There's no two ways about it. But the key is you've got to keep doing it.
03:58 So, we certainly believe after that performance in the challenges,
04:02 to keep that consistency of how we can affect games.
04:04 But there was a lot of good things about that today.
04:06 The use of us here today, do you think you can fill in that?
04:09 No, he's a young player. He needs to get fit.
04:12 He needs to, as in properly fit, as in Premier League fit.
04:15 No, he's a young player, he's a young talent and we've got to develop him.
04:18 And if he surprises us and he's ready straight away, then that's great.
04:22 But he's here to come and learn his game and he'll continue learning his game in the Premier League.
04:27 Shaun, just going back to the disallowed goal,
04:31 were you explicitly told it was a foul, not a handball?
04:35 Yeah, they felt it was a foul, yeah.
04:38 So, like I say, I don't know what a foul is if you're not meaning to do anything
04:44 and you're just almost getting out of the way. I don't know how that's a foul.
04:46 Whereas we all know if you're deliberately backing in or whatever, then it's a foul.
04:51 But I didn't see any of that. But look, it's done.
04:55 So there's nothing I can do about it. It's just a very frustrating one, that's for sure.
04:59 Just on Arnaud Dandruma, obviously he came on today.
05:04 In terms of his own fitness, do you feel he needs more before he's able to start?
05:10 He knows he needs more because he missed a lot of pre-season.
05:13 Then he got an igloo injury that cost him probably seven days as well.
05:16 So he knows that he needs more fitness and base fitness, if you like, to raise that fitness level.
05:23 So, yeah, he knows that.
05:24 Is the plan with Chimuti, potentially as you've done with some of the others, to play on the 21s games?
05:30 We'll see. First of all, he's in here. We're only at the testing phase, see how his body is,
05:34 see what his fitness level is. We'll find the mixture of games for him, getting him involved.
05:38 We'll see where he's at. But he's a young talent and he's not an instant.
05:42 Like I say, if he is, if he turns out to be instant, then fantastic, of course.
05:46 I think we've got to remind ourselves as a future player, the way the club's trying to grow
05:51 and the way we're trying to adapt to it is, of course, you need experience.
05:53 We know that in the Premier League.
05:55 But also that next level of player that's beginning to come through and beginning to grow.
05:59 I think finding that balance is not easy, of course.
06:01 The deals have to work for the club, the deals have to work with the opposition, or the opposite club, sorry.
06:05 It's not an easy situation.
06:07 Just a reminder, Sean, is he still not fit?
06:16 No, yeah, still not fit.
06:18 Report for the main team, please, because he's not been in now.
06:23 Still not fit.
06:24 it.
