Feels Like Home To Be Back At SAI Patiala: Khel Ratna Neeraj Chopra

On Wednesday, Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra was given a grand welcome on coming back to SAI NSNIS Patiala after being honoured with Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2021. Dronacharya Awardee Radhakrishnan Nair, Neeraj's coach Dr Klaus Bartonietz and all Olympians present at NSNIS Patiala were also felicitated. Neeraj Chopra shared his journey and experiences with the athletes present. He highlighted the role and the support of Sports Authority of India in his journey. 00:00 Namaste to everyone. I am not able to give a big speech as I am an athlete practicing with all of you.

00:08 But if I talk about my experience, I would like to say that the Olympics was a dream.

00:13 I have been dreaming of this for the past 10 years.

00:16 Finally I went and played. It was a good experience.

00:20 I had faith in myself that I will do something this time because I trained well.

00:24 The injury that I was taught was a big thing. Injury teaches a lot.

00:30 That time I was facing a little problem.

00:33 I was away from the competition for a year and then in 2020 I faced a problem due to rheumatism.

00:38 I was positive that I got an extra year for training.

00:42 When I went to the Olympics in 2021, I was in a different level of concentration.

00:48 I was in a different level of performance. I had a passion in me.

00:52 It was a good experience. I would like to thank the editor and all the coaches.

00:57 The staff is very good. They work in Sonabad.

01:00 We have a family in the ground.

01:02 It feels like we have come from far away.

01:06 It feels like a family here.

01:08 They keep us here like a home.

01:10 I would like to thank all the athletes and my friends that you have come here today.

01:15 I would like to say that this chair is here and it should be filled here in the next Olympics.

01:22 I would like to pray to God that we keep on managing like this and bring more gold medals for our country.
