Australia vs India - Mother's Support After Dad's Death Was Like Tonic: Mohammed Siraj

  • last year
Mohammed Siraj admirably shouldered India's fast bowling responsibilities in the recently-concluded tour of Australia. From injuries to personal bereavement, the Indian cricket team faced several odds but 26-year-old Siraj, who lost his father during the tour Down Under, led an experienced bowling attack to pick 13 wickets from three Test matches. Mohammed Siraj took six wickets in the Gabba Test in Brisbane. India consigned Australia to their first Test defeat in Australia to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a horror start in the first Test at Adelaide. India won the four-Test series 2-1 and Hyderabad lad Siraj, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, was one of the heroes of the victory. (Video courtesy: BCCI)

05:19 First, we saw how you pitched the ball and got Warner out. Getting a slipped.
05:27 So how do you decide when to pitch the ball? And we are talking about such a big batsman, Smith.
05:37 So how do you decide whether to pitch the shot or pitch the ball?
05:43 First, we set the batsman. We put in the in-swing and then we put the ball out.
05:51 We set the batsman first and then we put in a couple of overs on the same area and same channel.
05:59 Then we can change it. The batsman can also accept and say that he can put in this ball.
06:04 We saw you on the field. But off the field, have you had any lovely moments with your team?
06:20 What will be your lovely moment?
06:22 What's in the bubble? What lovely moments?
06:26 Nothing. We go to dinner and play T.T. We just enjoy the room and team dinner.
06:41 Which wicket did you like the most in the series?
06:47 In the whole series, I liked Stephen Smith's wicket.
06:56 The extra bounce from where I thought I would get extra bounce and I got the wicket.
07:01 Stephen Smith is a best batsman. So getting his wicket is a confident thing for me.
07:07 And Marnus' wicket. He got Marnus twice. So getting Marnus in this inning is a confident thing for me.
07:15 We saw you play a few cracks today. Do you think India will be scared of you tomorrow?
07:28 Obviously, batsmen will be confused when we bowl. They will think it's a crack. But our batsmen are well prepared. We will find out tomorrow.
07:45 Siraj, we heard you are working a lot on your batting. Do you plan to bat tomorrow?
07:53 Batting? We will obviously bat when we get the chance. Our only goal is to win this series.
08:02 We have been injured so many times. But our team has fought hard in the first inning.
08:12 We are proud of our team. The opportunities that the youngsters are getting.
08:16 Shardul, Washington, Natarajan. They are grabbing all the opportunities.
08:25 It's good for the backup as well. The youngsters are performing well.
08:32 I would like to thank Ajinkya Rahane for trusting the youngsters.
08:38 He trusted me too. He was talking to me every time. I was very confident.
