Media and information literacy project, inilunsad ng pamahalaan
Transcript
00:00 The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will strengthen the anti-biz information and disinformation, especially in the digital media industry.
00:11 This is through the media information literacy project launched by the PCO, Presidential Communications Office.
00:21 Yesterday, a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was held between DepEd, Shed, DSWD and DALG for this.
00:32 PCO Secretary Cheloy Garafil will start the campaign for the youth because this is the most exposed on the internet and in its context.
00:44 With the help of the media information literacy campaign, they will be given the tools to investigate and validate the sources of information.
00:55 The campaign will be broadcasted in schools, communities and to every ordinary Filipino.
01:02 Social media companies such as Google, Meta, TikTok and the ex-Twitter will also help in the campaign.
01:11 President Marcos Jr. encouraged the Filipinos to pursue the truth to avoid being a victim of misinformation.
01:22 What I wrote there is fight for the truth.
01:26 This is all that we are talking about and this is as much as we are talking about.
01:34 What we are fighting for is the truth because what is the very first casualty of all of these sometimes sinister, sometimes just mistaken, misguided activities.
01:52 The first victim, the first casualty is the truth.
01:55 In doing so, we hope to raise a society of synthesizers, those who are able to use the right information at the right time for the right purpose to make the right choices.
02:08 As we march forward, we envision a future that protects the fundamental rights of everyone.
02:16 We therefore commit to tailoring today's efforts to address the needs of those who consistently face the exploits of fake news, women, children, the elderly and those without easy access to technology.
