00:00 But yesterday we're scrolling through Twitter, X, and I saw a tweet Donnie from Stephen Holder
00:10 who covers the Indianapolis Colts for ESPN saying that Anthony Richardson was awful at
00:19 Colts practice.
00:20 He was absolutely terrible, nothing was looking good, and that the Bears were kind of running
00:25 roughshod over Anthony Richardson.
00:28 So I decided, alright, let me go back, let me grab that tweet, we'll talk about it a
00:31 little bit here this morning.
00:33 I go to Stephen's account, reads, note, I deleted my previous tweet assessing Anthony
00:39 Richardson's practice, it was causing too much confusion and it's not worth it.
00:42 Here's the thing, Stephen, I gotta be honest with you pal, I don't think it was causing
00:46 any confusion, I think it was pretty clear.
00:49 Anthony Richardson was having an awful practice the day after being named the starter, or
00:53 two days after being named the starter, against the Chicago Bears, and all in all it probably
00:59 wasn't worth it.
01:00 And listen, Twitter can be a nasty game, I don't blame you, the last thing you need are
01:04 Colts fans kind of blowing up your mentions.
01:06 But here's the thing, Donnie, deleted tweets even can last forever, and it's pretty clear
01:10 that Anthony Richardson, after earning the starting job here in Indianapolis, did not
01:15 turn that into a world of confidence against the Chicago Bears, but had what was being
01:20 described as one of his worst practices yet.
01:25 It all sets up too perfectly, just again, coming off of being, okay, you're the starter,
01:30 and him basically like, who'd you hear that from?
01:32 Coach told you that?
01:33 Ooh, that's news to me right now.
01:34 I told you yesterday, and granted, I don't know how this season is going to work out,
01:38 but what did I start the conversation on Anthony Richardson?
01:41 When the player himself is surprised, you know this wasn't the way it was supposed to
01:46 go down here in the locker room.
01:48 We all know that from the outside.
01:49 So now the pressure ramps up even more, and let's be honest with ourselves.
01:53 I talked about it yesterday again.
01:54 He's not playing on the 49ers where it's like, hey, you know what?
01:57 Hut, hut, hike, unbelievable offensive line, one of the best tight ends in football, elite
02:01 wide receivers, McCaffrey in the backfield.
02:04 This is so much fun.
02:05 He's on the Colts where their best player isn't even showing up to camp, and he can
02:08 barely run an NFL system right now.
02:11 What did we think is going to happen here?
02:12 Which is why, again, we brought in Gardner Minshew saying, hey, look, take the shrapnel,
02:16 open up one and seven with Minshew, ease your quarterback into the situation.
02:20 No pressure, let him learn.
02:22 It basically was, again, the owner coming into the room going, I just watched that preseason
02:26 game.
02:27 He needs to start and change thinking going like, did you watch the preseason game?
02:30 No, I actually didn't.
02:31 I was down in South Florida trying to move a whale around, but I've caught some of the
02:33 highlights here.
02:34 He looked really good out there.
02:35 That's the vibe I'm getting, but I love the start to this conversation.
02:38 A beat writer basically getting beat down for going tweet.
02:42 Oh, hold on.
02:43 This guy stinks.
02:44 I don't even know what's going on out here.
02:45 All right.
02:46 Let's get back to the tweet.
02:47 Let's get back after it here.
02:48 I love that.
02:49 That is pretty good.
02:49 I love that.
02:50 I love that.
