00:04 >> John.
00:05 >> How are you?
00:05 >> You got a fumble that if you would have ran it back, it would have been a touchdown.
00:09 But I think you looked over and said I'm not Devante, so
00:11 I'm gonna take a rest right here.
00:13 >> Hey, listen, I was just living a big man dream, man.
00:15 That was a big man dream.
00:17 And I would have ran that back.
00:19 I would have ran that back.
00:19 >> In a game?
00:20 >> Yeah, definitely, without a doubt.
00:22 Without a doubt.
00:22 >> How would you assess the defensive performance today going up against
00:27 the ones?
00:28 >> I mean, every day we've been trying to get better.
00:30 I don't know, everybody mindset is working on their technique.
00:36 Trying to be hard on themselves and trying to hold everybody accountable.
00:42 So I'm including myself.
00:43 I'm trying to find my part on this team and just do whatever is required of me to
00:48 do.
00:49 >> John, when you look at this defensive line room,
00:51 feels like a nice blend of veterans and a lot of youth as well.
00:54 What do you see from this group?
00:56 >> Man, hungry, hungry individuals.
00:58 Bilal Nichols, I remember when he came in from University of Delaware.
01:03 I'm watching him grow.
01:05 Adam Butler, him and I, we was in Miami together.
01:08 So I already had a relationship with those two guys already.
01:11 And then coming in, Max, everybody, Matt,
01:17 Neil, Malcolm, everybody's growing, man.
01:21 Jerry, it's a beautiful thing to see a cohesive group and
01:25 everybody is just finding their niche and getting better.
01:28 >> I know Tyrese is just kinda getting his feet wet.
01:30 But when you look at that guy, he looks like an NFL player right now.
01:34 What are your impressions of the rookie defensive?
01:36 >> I mean, you can't tease size, right?
01:38 So for him to be able to do what he's doing now and
01:40 just watching a little glimpse of potential, it's a beautiful thing.
01:44 Now, he just need to build the confidence and, man,
01:47 I'm glad to have him on the team.
01:49 >> You and I- >> Yesterday,
01:50 you said that they weren't really pleased with how practice went yesterday.
01:54 Did any of the veterans step up and
01:56 say anything to try to get them prepared for the next day?
02:01 >> I mean, we're not perfect, but this is the opportunity for us to get better.
02:05 We're in training camp for a reason, right?
02:07 And when you're in training camp,
02:09 you're just trying to work hard at your craft and do what you need to do.
02:11 So everybody's entitled to their opinion, but all that is is constructive criticism
02:16 and a way to hold each other accountable and
02:18 hold themselves accountable so we can get better, that's all that is.
02:22 >> You and I have talked before about a lot of rookies and
02:24 sophomores on the defensive line here.
02:27 How do you think these young pups and dogs are relating to you and
02:30 your teaching?
02:31 >> I mean, listen, if you're talking about it, I mean, they're doing good.
02:34 So I'll just leave it at that, man, these guys are, they're humble.
02:38 You see guys coming out early, early, early, working on their craft every day,
02:43 before we even get ready to stretch.
02:45 So that shows a lot, man, a lot of maturity, a lot of guys who wanna get better.
02:49 And I'm gonna keep saying everybody wanna get better,
02:51 because that's all y'all see out here, is guys coming out early and
02:53 working on their craft.
02:54 >> Anything else?
02:57 >> Hey, John. >> It was a pleasure, everybody.
02:58 >> Thank you.
