IRTA 2021 - Booking.com and ‘Rebuilding Together’ campaign

The judges wanted to recognise the contribution which Booking.com made through their ‘Rebuilding Together’ campaign working with customers and accommodation partners to make it easier for everyone to make informed and safe decisions and navigate the travel-related issues arising from the pandemic. Their ‘The World is Waiting For Us’ campaign encouraged travellers to make a wishlist and linked deals with it – this helped keep hope alive and gauge where travellers were likely to go, when they got the opportunity to travel again.

00:03 2020 was a rather different and difficult year for all of us.
00:08 With the onset of the pandemic, the entire meaning of travel
00:11 began to change.
00:12 With travel on a halt, customers started
00:14 canceling their travel plans, and this
00:16 impacted our accommodation partners as well.
00:19 To help support our customers and our partners
00:21 weather the storm, we launched Rebuilding Together campaign
00:24 last year.
00:25 We worked very closely with our accommodation partners
00:28 to help generate demand and help them rebuild their business
00:31 together.
00:32 We also worked very closely with our customers,
00:34 keeping their best interests in mind,
00:36 and launched new features on our platform
00:38 to help them make well-informed decisions,
00:40 be it health and safety, cancellations, flexibility,
00:44 or whatever travel-related questions they had.
00:46 Travel is fundamental to who we are,
00:48 and people will travel again and experience the world again.
00:51 And Booking.com will be there to make it easier for everyone
00:55 to experience the world as it's safe to do so.
