00:00 I'm really excited, I'm really hoping they can win. I'm really excited to see what they're
00:08 going to do.
00:09 Why are you out today?
00:10 Out for the Lionesses against Spain, big game, big final. I've followed the Lionesses
00:14 since what, 2015? So I'm actually one of those who have actually watched them for a number
00:19 of years. I'm really excited, especially after the Euros last year, winning the final. They
00:24 did it then, hopefully they can do it today. Yeah, really excited, I'm really hoping they
00:29 can win.
00:30 Where are you off to watch it?
00:31 Just down the Guild, just down the road. I've been there, been going there the past few
00:36 weeks, so hopefully there's a good atmosphere, hopefully a lot of people are out. I know
00:39 it's early because it's in Australia, but hopefully we get the support.
00:43 Come on Lionesses!
00:45 What are you here doing today?
00:47 So I'm here today to support the Lionesses at my local, the Guild on Falmrow. I'm so
00:53 impressed with the way the football team, Willy's football team, and how he's progressed
00:57 over the years. Come on England, you can do it girls, come on Lionesses.
01:01 Are you excited?
01:02 I am, yeah. I've been waiting for this for a long time. So yeah, I think we'll win it
01:08 as well. Come on the Lionesses.
01:10 And I'm a 66 child, so come on, 57 years, come on.
01:13 You're giving me the good luck charm.
01:15 Absolutely.
01:16 We want to win this World Cup, we've never done it before, and we're definitely going
01:20 to do it, 100%, 100%.
01:22 Why do you think we're going to do it?
01:24 Because they're good, very good, and the rest of them boys.
01:28 Have you been following it?
01:30 Yeah, all year, right the way through.
01:33 So excited for the end?
01:35 Oh yeah, it's all amazing.
01:37 Come on England!
01:39 Are we going to win?
01:40 Absolutely. I hope so, I bloody hope so.
01:43 How are you going to celebrate if we do?
01:46 I mean, if you change your mind.
01:48 Yeah, it's a long day.
01:50 Why are you here?
01:51 To watch England win.
01:53 Are you excited?
01:54 Oh yeah.
01:56 Are you going to cheer them on?
01:57 Yes, definitely.
01:58 Can I get a 'Come on England'?
02:00 Come on England!
02:01 Say that again?
02:02 Come on England!
02:04 We're going to do it, definitely going to do it.
02:06 Come on England!
02:08 Come on England!
02:10 Do you want them to win?
02:11 Of course I do, yeah. 2-0.
02:13 Where are you celebrating today?
02:15 In whatever pub I can.
02:17 What do you think of the England game today?
02:19 I think they're going to win 3-2.
02:21 And will you celebrate if they do?
02:23 I'll have a couple of glasses of wine or a vodka and coke.
02:28 It's to see the Lionesses win the World Cup, that's what I'm here for.
02:35 That's what I'm here for.
02:37 Not a good first half.
02:38 Lauren James is on the pitch second half, so we might see a bit of something.
02:42 A bit of something special, a moment of magic, that's what we need right now.
02:45 Have you been following the Cup?
02:47 Yeah, I mean, following England games, I feel pretty much invested in the squad.
02:52 I love football in general, I love the men's squad, but the men's squad are PR trained.
02:58 I'm not PR trained, as you can tell.
03:00 The men's squad are PR trained, almost like robots.
03:03 I think that's why people love Jack Grealish, because he comes on camera and he is who he is.
03:07 He's totally himself, he's authentic.
03:09 And that's these women, that's the Lionesses, they just come on camera, totally authentic.
03:14 And I think that's the reason to get behind them, because the girls that you support,
03:17 it's exactly what you see and it's exactly what you get in.
03:20 And have you ever played football?
03:22 Yeah, I've played with a few of the squads.
03:25 I've played with Alex Greenwood going up through the Everton ranks.
03:29 Nikita Parris narrowly missed out on the World Cup opportunities at Man Utd.
03:34 I had the very rare opportunity of playing with Ella Toon at Fiverside.
03:40 She's my sort of claim to fame, when she scored that chip at the Euros.
03:44 I played Fiverside with her, got me a few drinks in my local, so all's well.
03:50 So if they win, would it feel especially special to you, I guess?
03:54 I think so, and I think that I've coached a lot of girls that are coming through the ranks.
03:58 There's a few, Alyssa Rahearn, she'll be one to watch in the coming years.
04:02 She's at Man Utd, just signed her first professional contract.
04:05 If I had to put a bet on her, she'll be at the next World Cup.
04:10 Anyone wants a quick sneak inside her to throw a couple of quid on.
04:14 I feel invested because I know that the girls that are coming through are probably as good as,
04:20 or if not better than, what's there now.
04:22 So, I'll be there.
04:24 Come on, England!
