00:00 The season has started.
00:01 We had some kickoff classics and we had a couple guys just absolutely show out and one
00:06 I had to bring up bright and early.
00:09 Armando blunt, the five star defensive end for Miami central central has a couple of
00:14 guys on their defense that we want to talk about, but we got to start with Armando who
00:19 had a monster game, six sacks, a ton of pressures.
00:23 And he's the kind of guy that if he gets six, you know, it was probably eight, but somebody
00:27 else got a couple on pressures that he got.
00:30 What were some of your impressions of him after that first game?
00:34 It's ironic.
00:35 I knew he was really good anyway.
00:37 I'd seen him play before when he was at Dillard.
00:40 But when I watched the pregame warmups, I didn't even go over to centrals D line.
00:46 I didn't need to.
00:47 I went over and watched Vanguard's O line and I knew it was over.
00:53 The left tackle was a long kid, very athletic looking, but he wasn't as athletic as he looked.
00:58 He wasn't very technically sound and that was a beat down.
01:01 He just wasn't quick enough.
01:03 Wasn't strong enough.
01:04 He long armed him.
01:05 He used SWAT.
01:06 He used rip and sometimes he just went and just just strong hands.
01:12 Yeah.
01:13 And the other thing that a lot of guys that Armando's size can't do this, even his third
01:18 year NFL players, they'll take a hard step inside and that guy will get ready to set
01:23 and he'll just move back out and he'll make him just whiff.
01:26 When 250 gets rolling and he makes that guy whiff, it's bad for any quarterback.
01:29 It's bad.
01:31 So there were a few plays where it was just neat at the quarterback.
01:35 And I know Fred Gaskin, well, the kid from Vanguard, really good kid.
01:38 He's going to play DB at USF, but you know, like most high schools, you put your best
01:42 athlete at quarterback.
01:43 He's a freaky kid and he had to have been sacked 10 times.
01:47 A normal quarterback would have been sacked 15 times.
01:50 Their offensive line is terrible.
01:52 They don't have any chemistry and to their credit, central took advantage.
01:56 When somebody fails, you take advantage of it.
01:58 And they did.
01:59 They didn't even have to blitz much or anything like that for men and bad things.
02:04 So blunt was the was the ring leaner, Randy Adarica, the defensive tackle, also a class
02:10 of 25.
02:11 They moved Randy around a little bit and a few times they put him right next to Armando.
02:15 And that was really bad.
02:17 How do you block that?
02:18 Yeah, that you, well, they didn't.
02:20 I've got a photo.
02:23 I was going through the photos I've been sending Randy and Armando a bunch of photos this morning
02:27 and I'm just kind of going through and there was a play where immediately Armando had beat
02:32 his guy and Randy hadn't beat his guy because he was only halfway by and it was like two
02:36 steps into the play.
02:37 And I'm like this.
02:38 I don't know how this play ended, but I'm sure it's bad.
02:42 It was it was funny because those kids put so much effort on pass rushing downs in particular
02:48 that if you're not technically sound and everybody cohesive, it's hard.
02:53 But it was, you know, there are a few plays like we're being guards backed up and I'm
02:56 staying in the back of the end zone.
02:57 So I got a bird's eye view and I would just put my camera down and watch.
03:01 I kind of snickered a few times because I'm like, even if they block those two central
03:06 has some kids that are more like, you know, FCS, et cetera, that are doing these kids
03:11 a player.
03:12 Sometimes they were the ones chasing Fred.
03:13 He was a good life.
03:16 And you know what?
03:18 It is what it is.
03:19 That's why Central is arguably the best program in the country.
03:22 You're in and you're out there.
03:23 They're right there.
03:24 And they beat IMG last year, et cetera.
03:25 So hats off to Joseph and his staff.
03:28 They didn't play well offensively and I'm being kind and they had a gazillion penalties,
03:32 but their defense just beat the bejesus out of them.
03:35 That's why they won.
