00:00 Hey guys, it's Ash here with WatchMojo and these are the top 10 times One Piece characters
00:13 showcase their power.
00:34 After spending two years apart, the Straw Hat crew members reunite. However, Luffy is
00:39 embroiled in some wannabe's attempts to trade on their reputations. When the Marines attack,
00:45 they bring pacifistas, hulking cyborgs that it took the entire crew working together before
00:51 the time skip to defeat just one. When targeted, Luffy easily dodges its laser blasts and proceeds
01:05 to destroy it with a single hockey-enhanced jet pistol to the head. Not only is it a spectacular
01:21 illustration of how much stronger Luffy became in two years, but it's also a callback to
01:26 when Luffy set out on the first part of his journey. Back then, he defeated the sea monster
01:31 that took Shanks' arm with one pistol. Quite the upgrade.
01:41 9. Kaido One-Shots Luffy
01:44 Initially, everyone cautions restraint when the Straw Hats arrive in Wano Country. After
01:49 all, the place is all but ruled by one of the four emperors, Kaido. But when the draconic
01:55 pirate seemingly obliterates a castle, but Luffy's friends are inside, he won't let
02:00 that stand. Leaping into action, Luffy pummels Kaido with everything he has. His strongest
02:11 forms, his most powerful attacks, he unleashes everything on Kaido. But then Kaido gets up
02:23 and counterattacks with one mighty hit from his mace, knocking the hero out faster than
02:29 he can say "I will be Pirate King."
02:46 We all knew that Kaido was strong before this, but the sheer power of being able to take
02:50 down Luffy, after all his training and improvements, still blows our collective minds.
02:56 8. The Aftermath of the Admirals Duel
03:00 The Marine Admirals are among the strongest characters in all of One Piece. Their titanic
03:05 abilities are well evident in nearly every scene they're in. One of their most epic
03:10 moments happens off-screen though. Junpei tells the Straw Hats about a duel that took
03:23 place between two of them during the time skip. Akainu and Aokiji each couldn't stand
03:28 to let the other become the next Fleet Admiral, so they dueled for ten days, with Akainu emerging
03:34 victorious. Cue the next story arc where the Straw Hats go to a mysterious island known
03:40 as Punk Hazard. Half of it is always on fire, while the other half is a frozen wasteland.
03:51 It's eventually revealed that this was where the Admirals fought. They're so powerful,
03:57 they permanently change the weather.
04:03 7. Anel Destroys an Island
04:10 Anel is so broken that the people he terrorizes/rules over call him God. While it's more of an
04:17 honorary title up in the Skylands, but Anel backs up the power of the Moniker. After launching
04:23 his flying arc, Anel creates huge thunderclouds capable of raining massive lightning strikes
04:29 on his foes and subjects. However, even these pale in comparison to his strongest technique.
04:47 This massive ball of lightning gets dropped on Angel Island and completely obliterates
04:52 it. Granted, most of it was made of solid clouds, but it's still arguably the most
05:10 destructive demonstration of power thus far in the whole series.
05:15 6. Law Breaks the Gear
05:17 Trafalgar D. "Water" Law is a certified badass. His Devil Fruit powers let him manipulate
05:24 everything inside the circle he creates. However, strong enough Haki can stop it from working.
05:30 So when Virgo is set to give Law a beating covered in armament Haki, it's concerning.
05:39 However, after Virgo charges at him, Luffy's ally bisects him with his sword like it was
05:45 nothing. Law delivers a speech to Doflamingo on the speaker snail about how he has upset
06:00 the peace, ushering in a new age for his generation to tear down the old. And as we pull back,
06:07 we see that he cut through not just the lab, but also the entire mountain the lab is inside.
06:17 Law didn't just break a gear, he broke an entire clock.
06:21 5. Oden's Legendary Hour
06:23 Kozuki Oden has many incredible feats to his name. The larger-than-life samurai lived an
06:29 amazing life, but it's his death that still has the people of Wano talking to this day.
06:35 Captured by Kaido and sentenced to be boiled alive like his namesake food by the Emperor
06:40 and the false shogun Orochi, Oden makes a bargain. Whichever member of his retinue survives
06:54 after one hour will be set free. Oden not only survives the boiling torment for the
07:00 allotted hour, he does so while holding his nine rather large followers over his head
07:05 to protect them. And ultimately after saving them, it isn't the heat that extinguishes
07:19 Oden's fire, but Kaido's bullet. A legendary end indeed.
07:33 4. Luffy's Haki Takes Out 50,000
07:41 At Fishman Island, the Straw Hats aid Jinbei in fighting the new Fishman Pirates. A radical
07:47 group attempting a coup with an army of 100,000 to back them up. While the Straw Hats are
07:54 outnumbered 10,000 to 1, quality counts over quantity. When the enemy Captain Hody Jones
08:07 declares that he'll continue his conquest and become Pirate King, Luffy walks forward
08:12 calmly and proceeds to release a burst of Conqueror's Haki. The wave of intimidation
08:29 makes half of the attacking army pass out. Not only is it a badass moment that has everyone
08:43 picking their jaws up off the ground, it further cements that Luffy has what it takes to become
08:48 the Pirate King.
08:50 3. Zoro Blocks Big Mom and Kaido's Attack
08:54 Zoro is one of the only Straw Hats that can conceivably claim to equal Luffy's level
08:59 of strength. The swordsman joins his captain in the rooftop battle with their fellow members
09:04 of the worst generation against Big Mom and Kaido. While roof peace is chock full of hype
09:13 moments, one of the biggest attacks occurs when the two emperors deliver a combo move
09:18 together. The resulting blast is massive and leaves the worst generation scrambling, but
09:30 then Zoro steps in and blocks it. Granted, it's only for a few seconds, but being able
09:44 to hold off the power of two emperors simultaneously is a phenomenal feat of strength on Zoro's
09:56 part.
09:58 2. Whitebeard Tilts the Sea
10:03 The battle at Marineford offers plenty of opportunities for the Emperor Edward Newgate,
10:08 aka Whitebeard, to showcase why he's considered the strongest man in the world. But his most
10:14 awe-inspiring moment occurs when he fights Vice Admiral John Giant. After easily repelling
10:25 the Giant's massive sword, Whitebeard drops his weapon and grabs the air and pulls. His
10:42 quake powers put the Vice Admiral off balance, as well as everyone else on the island. All
10:53 of Marineford, as well as the surrounding seas, becomes off-kilter and reshaped by Whitebeard's
10:59 astounding abilities. In this moment, Whitebeard shows us that the peak of power in One Piece
11:12 is on a scale that's positively awe-inspiring.
11:14 1. Every Sky Split
11:34 Conqueror's Haki is a potent force, so when two users of the color of the Supreme King
11:39 collide, the effects are dramatic to say the least. The handful of times where a pair of
11:56 the four Emperors and/or the late Pirate King, Gold Roger, have clashed with one another,
12:02 the force of the blow has been enough for a rift to open in the clouds above them. So
12:13 many anime feature powerful hits that feel like they split the very heavens. One Piece
12:18 took that feeling and made it literal. There's no more dramatic showcase for the series'
12:33 strongest characters than this reoccurring epic event.
12:57 1. The End of the World?
