00:00 >> I'm sorry, I want you to be ready.
00:01 >> All right.
00:03 >> I don't know, you put it down.
00:05 >> He wants to hold it.
00:06 >> I mean, if you want to hold it, you should try to get your spin on it.
00:08 >> [LAUGH] >> Go ahead.
00:10 >> Well, regardless, Jawan, you look at a really solid day.
00:12 You ran the ball really hard.
00:13 How did you feel out there during the scrimmage?
00:15 >> I felt great.
00:16 I was just moving by.
00:17 We're just trying to be more persistent on offense and
00:20 moving in the right direction, acting on some mistakes.
00:23 But we did a real good, felt good.
00:26 >> What's it been like working with Demetrius Davis and David Stewart?
00:31 >> It's been good.
00:32 They both got similar run styles for doing their quarterbacks, but
00:36 both of them are very accurate.
00:38 They play it on their own, they're playmakers, as you can see.
00:41 So it's been fun playing with both of them.
00:44 >> How did you feel about the performance of the defense and
00:46 the defense looking for results?
00:48 >> Defense, I always play with a chip on their shoulder.
00:51 They always come and we got good defense in the set, so
00:54 it's just great playing against them every day.
00:56 So we're making this better.
00:57 So moving back into the teams is kind of a relief.
01:01 >> We got to see the depth at running back today with Skelton and other guys.
01:04 What do you feel about the guys behind you getting ready for 2023?
01:07 >> Everybody messes me.
01:08 They get the same training I get.
01:11 They see stuff that I do and I try to teach them well.
01:14 So they're always prepared to go in if I need a breather or
01:18 just it's their time to shine.
01:20 So I always tell them keep it up, keep working hard,
01:22 pay attention to the details, stay in your seat.
01:25 I come out and not gonna drop out, it's the same thing.
01:29 >> Matrius was saying that he is more comfortable in the offense this year.
01:31 What have you seen from him this fall camp that makes him seem more comfortable?
01:34 >> Maturity, actually knowing the offense, learning the ins and
01:38 outs of it.
01:38 It was like all of us was transferring in, it was just a lot going on at once.
01:44 So it was just like we actually got chemistry now working outside of football
01:47 practice, just getting on the same page with each other.
01:51 So it's just been good for it to come good.
01:53 It's starting to creep more now and it's slowing down.
01:56 So that's the best part about it.
01:58 >> Of course, Coach Rob wants to be a run heavy team, but
02:01 we saw a lot of different actions.
02:02 We know fire receiver sets, empty back fields.
02:04 How do you feel about the overall offense and
02:06 how the coordinator is kind of working on different things?
02:08 >> Coach, he has a, he got a playbook.
02:11 >> [LAUGH] >> His playbook is very, very,
02:14 very interesting.
02:15 We're not gonna keep that in the same, we don't wanna be repetitive.
02:19 So we always have a big stack of players that we always can run into and
02:24 different formations to throw defense on and just different ways to line up.
02:28 >> I saw a couple of trick plays today, I think it was two or three.
02:30 Is that something we're gonna expect in the future?
02:32 >> We'll see.
02:34 [LAUGH] >> I mean, I like to,
02:37 you know what I mean?
02:38 >> Trick play is not, we're not just a trick play team.
02:42 We're a physical, the idea of the team, that we wanna beat your friend.
02:46 So trick plays is, I mean, here we're gonna trick play.
02:50 >> All right, we're good?
02:51 >> Yeah. >> All right,
02:52 we're gonna spend time over.
