Basin plan revived with arguable water buybacks

The Greens are demanding guarantees from the federal government in return for their support to amend the Murray-Darling Basin plan. Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young says more detail is needed.

00:11 the next election and that South Australia in particular is not going to keep being dudded.
00:16 What is good for South Australia is good for the environment because you've got to have

00:22 We've just gone through 12 years of being told, "Oh, we're not there yet.
00:26 Oh, we're not there yet.
00:27 Oh, just wait a bit longer.
00:28 Wait a bit longer."
00:29 And South Australia is sick and tired of these broken promises over the Murray and getting
00:35 the water that we were promised and that the environment needs and that science says is
00:42 needed to keep the river alive.
00:43 So we want some guarantees.
00:45 We want guarantees that water will start flowing, that water will be bought and that South Australia
00:51 can bank on getting that 450.
