00:00 Welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Pete Quinnell, and on Wednesdays we cover for Luke
00:11 because he's busy.
00:12 Also, I've got some fresh new paper here today.
00:15 I wonder how long it's going to be before people start writing all over it, like, I
00:20 don't know, people who write stuff like Pete Smeels or Book Me On Cameo.
00:26 No Luke.
00:28 Book Me On Cameo.
00:30 In the last week or two, the headlines have been dominated by AEW news in the lead up
00:35 to All In.
00:36 Specifically, not the most positive of news either, with an arrest and backstage politics
00:39 aplenty.
00:40 Meanwhile, WWE has been skating on bio with talk around creative plans, who's getting
00:44 pushes, you know, wrestling news.
00:47 But as it turns out, things may not be all peachy in WWE either.
00:51 With the Endeavor deal reaching its reported conclusion in September, it had been previously
00:55 reported that layoffs were expected from WWE, specifically in its corporate sector amongst
01:00 their employees.
01:01 And this, shockingly enough, seems to have had an effect on morale among those employees.
01:06 Shocking.
01:07 PWInsiderElite is reporting that there is a sense of doom and gloom among the WWE employees,
01:13 with the anticipation of cuts coming.
01:15 So great job WWE, you made a bunch of money, and probably made it so Vince can be in charge
01:20 again come September.
01:21 That's deserving of a low effort thumbs up.
01:24 Now let's talk about All In, taking place this Sunday in Wembley Stadium, the biggest
01:30 wrestling event in history and a stacked old card for the show too.
01:34 Except, that card might be undergoing some big changes in the near future.
01:38 After already being hit with a multitude of setbacks on the way to All In, primarily through
01:43 injury to its top stars like Bryan Danielson, Jamie Hayter and PAC, it seems there may be
01:47 some other circumstances forcing this card to change even more.
01:51 Tony Khan held his All In media call last night, and on it he revealed that 1) there
01:56 would be matches added to the card before long, and 2) changes would be coming to the
02:00 card due to real life situations outside the world of pro wrestling.
02:04 Now while your mind might jump to Cash Wheeler, that may not be what TK is talking about,
02:09 as Fightful Select has more.
02:11 One of the names reportedly unable to make it to London is Rey Fenix, who was scheduled
02:14 to wrestle in the Stadium Stampede match against Blackpool Combat Club and their mystery partners.
02:19 This is reportedly indicated to be related to a visa issue rather than an injury.
02:24 The Wrestling Observer expanded on this, saying that Fenix is currently in the process of
02:27 trying to establish residency in the United States, and hasn't left the country because
02:32 of that, which is also reportedly why he didn't work AAA's Triple Mania.
02:36 Fightful Select does note that there are plans in place to explain Fenix's absence, which
02:40 I assume we'll hear about on Dynamite tonight.
02:43 What this means though for the Stadium Stampede match, who knows.
02:47 If the number of participants is going to be altered, the match itself will be altered,
02:50 or if Fenix will be replaced as well, it all remains to be seen.
02:54 But considering TK mentioned that there were other changes coming, perhaps we haven't
02:58 heard the last of changes to that match either.
03:00 But one match that was in question was FTR vs The Young Bucks after Cash Wheeler's
03:05 arrest for aggravated assault.
03:06 Fans had thought that perhaps with legal processes and things ongoing, that Cash may not be able
03:11 to leave the country and head over to London, but it seems the match is still set to go
03:15 ahead right now.
03:16 This comes from Sports Illustrated, who confirmed that as of now, the match is still on for
03:22 Wembley.
03:23 Tony Khan was asked about Cash and the status of the match on the media call last night
03:26 as well, to which TK said that he couldn't comment on it as he didn't know the specifics
03:31 of the situation, and called it "inconclusive" as unlike prior times when controversy like
03:36 this has occurred, they don't have all the facts, so can't make swift action as they
03:40 have done previously.
03:41 There's a face-to-face interview scheduled for FTR and The Bucks promoted for Dynamite
03:46 tonight, so perhaps we'll get a clearer picture of what All In will look like coming
03:50 out of that.
03:51 On the subject of All In, while you could argue that the most exciting thing is the
03:55 prospect of an amazing wrestling show in front of over 80,000 fans, I think we can all agree
03:59 that what's truly thrilling is the prospect of guessing who's going to win those matches.
04:05 Thankfully, we have the answers to all your hopes and dreams, and it's called WrestleLeague.
04:10 WrestleLeague is our unique, totally free-to-enter predictions competition where you can win
04:14 huge prizes.
04:16 The winner of each season wins $250 of Amazon vouchers.
04:20 Second and third place will receive $100 and $50 of Amazon vouchers respectively.
04:24 You'll also be competing against everyone in the WrestleTalk office, so it's your
04:28 time to show everyone at WrestleTalk that actually, you're better than us in every
04:33 way.
04:34 The new season starts with AEW All In London, and runs through to WWE's Survivor Series,
04:39 so it's the best time to sign up.
04:41 Sign up using the link in the description below, and make sure you click the email subscribe
04:45 button to ensure you don't miss a show.
04:47 Or maybe the best thing to be at Wembley will be the fact that Fozzy are playing Judas.
04:52 You know, if you like that sort of thing.
04:54 Jericho confirmed that Fozzy are going to be playing Judas at Wembley, one would assume
04:58 for his entrance for his match against Will Ospreay.
05:01 And you know, I'm not really a huge fan, but I'll probably be singing along anyway
05:05 won't I?
05:06 Fozzy are playing to a damn near sold out Wembley.
05:09 That's a sentence isn't it?
05:11 So while some other names that I've already mentioned may be missing out on the Wembley
05:15 show, there could be a return lined up for it.
05:18 Or maybe after it, but at some point.
05:20 The Wrestling Observer reported that prior to understanding the severity of her back
05:24 problem, AEW had planned for Thunder Rosa to challenge for the AEW Women's World Title
05:29 that she had never lost, much like CM Punk did with Jon Moxley following his injury after
05:33 Double or Nothing last year.
05:35 Despite officially relinquishing her belt and Toni Storm becoming the official AEW Women's
05:39 World Champion instead of interim, the plan for Rosa is reportedly most likely the same,
05:44 to return and challenge for the belt.
05:46 And that return may be happening very soon indeed, as Thunder Rosa put up a vlog on August
05:51 10th which included a conversation with AEW's resident doctor, Dr. Michael Samson.
05:56 They revealed that Rosa would be working an un-televised match at the Collision Tapings
06:00 in Greensboro, and provided that she felt okay, she should be cleared by the end of
06:04 the month.
06:05 Now Sunday is, I believe, right near the end of the month, so there's every chance she
06:10 could show up after the Fatal 4-Way and stare down whoever walks out the champion.
06:15 Meanwhile it had been previously reported that Kairi Sane may be on her way back to
06:18 WWE after she finishes up her current dates with Stardom, and now there's a little insight
06:23 into why that might be from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
06:26 Kairi reportedly wanted to work more dates with Stardom, however Bushi Road, the owners
06:31 of Stardom, wanted to sign her to an exclusive deal, which naturally would mean that Kairi
06:36 would want more money to be exclusive.
06:38 Kairi then reportedly opened up the idea of returning to WWE, while still maintaining
06:43 a close relationship with Rossy Ogawa, the executive producer of Stardom.
06:48 With the successes of Asuka and Io Sky recently in WWE, Kairi was reportedly more confident
06:53 that she would be used better under the current creative direction than before, with Triple
06:57 H in charge.
06:58 So considering that Kairi won the NXT Championship while Triple H was in charge, that makes sense.
07:02 While she'll reportedly be finishing up her dates with Stardom up to September, September
07:07 is also the month where the Endeavor Deal is reportedly finishing up, which means Vince
07:11 may well be back in control by then, so...
07:13 Wuh-oh is all I'll say to that.
07:16 And now it's time for my NXT One Minute One Take, where I will attempt to recount everything
07:20 that happened on last night's episode of NXT Heat Wave in one minute and in one take.
07:25 Let me get my timer ready, because I don't have a person in the room now, and the time
07:32 code on the thingy that I've got, the little monitor, where I can see myself, that's me
07:36 up there, yeah that's not working, so I'm just going to have to get a timer on my phone.
07:43 Start the timer!
07:44 Ilja Dragunov beat Trick Williams in the opener in a hard hitting bout because it's Ilja Dragunov
07:47 and he doesn't know any other way!
07:48 Nathan Fraser gets Tyler Bate to be his second for his Heritage Cup match tonight, and Mustafa
07:53 Ali made a sex joke about Rhea Ripley in Dominik Mysterio.
07:55 Ivan Owl beat Eva pretty quickly, which was Eva's in-ring debut, and after the match Eva's
07:59 rescued by the masked members of the Schism, which are later revealed to be Shock, the
08:02 Creed Brothers, never saw it coming.
08:04 Noam Dar won back the Heritage Cup against Nathan Fraser, winning 2-1 in their 6th round
08:07 match I Don't Understand Heritage Cup Rules.
08:10 Also Dabba Kato was there.
08:11 An 8 man tournament was set up for number one contendership later in the show.
08:14 Tiffany Stratton did a promo and was interrupted by Gigi Doling, Keanu James, Blair Davenport
08:17 and Roxanne Perez, they all brawled.
08:19 Dragon Lee and Lyra Valkyria beat Dom Dom and Ripley with Lee pinning Dom Dom, which
08:22 should set up a North American title shot soon.
08:25 Also Raquel Rodriguez was there.
08:26 Thea Hale and JCJ might be forming a team.
08:28 Von Wagner vs Baron Corbin never got started as Brom Breaker attacked Wagner, and in the
08:32 main event, Carlella Hayes defended his NXT title against Wesley in a great match, unsurprisingly,
08:36 featuring a wild springboard reverse DDT through the announce table.
08:40 Boom!
08:42 Did it!
08:44 I slammed my phone really hard on the table, I probably shouldn't have done that.
08:49 Whoops.
08:50 That's it from me today, make sure to sign up to WrestleLeague using the link in the
