00:00 Along with reminding the importance of the upcoming barangay elections in October,

00:05 the appointment of President Bongbong Marcos also means strengthening the local governments.

00:10 That is the principle of federalism that is being implemented now, according to the President.

00:16 Ivan Mayrina was on the spot.

00:18 Although it is not formal that it is being announced and there is no complicated process,

00:25 the administration is already starting the implementation of the principle of federalism in the country.

00:30 President Bongbong Marcos said that the priority is the leadership of the new members

00:35 of his leading party, the Federal of the Philippines,

00:38 as his son, Olokos Norte First District Representative Sandro Marcos.

00:42 Federalism is the main principle that their party is advocating.

00:47 In all but name, what we are doing is really giving discretion, power, and function

00:58 as much as possible in the lowest level that we can do.

01:03 So, we are doing the first step of the federation.

01:10 It is being done through the strengthening of the local governments,

01:15 which according to the President is a way to strengthen the government and the system of political cooperation.

01:20 It will also speed up the process of the government because all decisions do not need to be submitted to the President.

01:27 While doing that, the President has no direct order to the parties that federalism is being implemented in the Congress.

01:33 He also said before that there is no priority for him to amend the Constitution or Charter Change.

01:38 But the President reminded us of the importance of early preparation for the election and the growth of their party.

01:45 As we all know, the barangay elections have a big impact, have a big effect on how the 2025 elections.

01:56 Because if we will be the candidates, we will win in 2025, we need to support the barangay level.

02:07 So, that is why it was incumbent upon us to now immediately try and organize ourselves so that we are prepared.
