00:00 could you introduce yourself and tell me what's happening here today?
00:03 Hi, my name is Sarah Bennett, I'm Head Teacher at Crokeham College and today we are celebrating
00:08 our Year 11 results. I think it would be fair to say that we were all dreading the results
00:14 this year, it being the first year that the government had decided to take everything
00:18 back to 2019 exam levels. And of course this cohort have really struggled as a result of
00:25 the pandemic missing, crucially Year 8 and Year 9 of their education, which provides
00:31 the foundations for what they're going to go on and learn for their GCSEs. But our students
00:37 have taken on board the challenge and by the end of the summer when they were sitting their
00:43 exams we were all so proud of the way in which they pulled themselves through and really
00:48 applied themselves to their studies. And their results today bear testament to the fact that
00:52 they never gave up and they kept going and they showed unbelievable resilience. So we
00:57 are all incredibly proud of them and they've got a lot to celebrate today.
01:01 Well that's great news for staff and the students and thank you very much for your help.
