We catch a groove on day two with our travel crew as they get their wine on at the beach. They also grab a Soca dance class taught by Caribbean legend Royal G. Tap as they drop gems on how to last at an all-day beach party. Correction: Royal G is not Antiguan. She represents Barbados, lives in NYC, and has brought both the "Soca & sweat" and "Born to Whine" dance classes to Antigua.

00:00 What's up, Blavity?
00:00 Welcome back to Bougie and Abroad,
00:02 where we give you an exclusive look
00:04 at what the group travel experience looks like abroad.
00:06 Previously on Bougie and Abroad,
00:09 our travel crew arrived to the beautiful island of Antigua,
00:12 told us about their experiences,
00:13 and got down at a dope welcome night party at a local club.
00:16 (upbeat music)
00:19 (upbeat music)
00:22 This is Bougie and Abroad.
00:33 It's now day two,
00:36 and we're back with our amazing travel crew,
00:38 as they immerse themselves in a high-energy soca class
00:41 taught by Royal G.
00:43 Royal G is an Antiguan star,
00:45 social media influencer, and dancer,
00:48 who has founded the popular Antigua dance class,
00:50 Born to Wine.
00:52 Being that Antigua is a second home
00:54 for many of the pan-Caribbean genres of popular music,
00:57 and has produced stars in soca,
00:59 our travel crew thought it would be the perfect way
01:01 to kick off their day with a dance class
01:04 that highlights the musical influences of the country.
01:07 - So I like to do stretches before I come,
01:09 and I like to work on my mobility.
01:11 - You know, when you come to the islands,
01:12 especially Antigua, the food's gonna be amazing.
01:15 So you know you're gonna eat good in Antigua.
01:17 You have to stay fit.
01:19 - Staying active is important.
01:21 There's no sleep.
01:22 Like, why do you, do you think you travel to sleep?
01:23 You don't travel to sleep.
01:25 So you need to be staying active so you can keep up,
01:26 you know?
01:27 - For me, it is imperative that I do my workout.
01:29 I packed a workout set for every single day of this trip,
01:33 and I love that they went ahead and incorporated,
01:35 we got yoga, we had our winding class.
01:38 But yeah, you gotta work out and keep yourself going
01:40 on your fitness goals,
01:42 so that your trip, when you finish it,
01:44 you still look as good as when you arrived.
01:45 - Everyone in the group killed it.
01:47 It was such a great experience for everyone to dance
01:49 and work out together.
01:51 - Amazing!
01:52 Honestly, it was one of the things I looked forward to most
01:54 for this trip.
01:55 Class was fabulous.
01:56 My legs feel like jelly noodles.
01:58 I realized that I gotta really step it up with the wine.
02:01 My girl is getting us right.
02:03 - The workout was great.
02:04 Everybody was great.
02:05 They enjoyed it.
02:06 I'm so happy they enjoyed it.
02:07 - What a dope soca class.
02:09 Now that our travel crew knows how to wind down,
02:12 it's time for them to turn up at an all-day beach party
02:14 while they share their best tips
02:16 while traveling solo dolo, in a group, and abroad.
02:19 Let's go.
02:19 (upbeat music)
02:22 Antigua has 365 beaches,
02:26 so to get that luxury experience,
02:28 we are creating our own vibe away from the tourists.
02:31 Here are some tips on how to last
02:33 on an all-day beach party.
02:35 Number one, sunscreen.
02:37 Antigua in May is super hot,
02:38 and the sun is going to be shining.
02:40 Number two, hydrate.
02:42 Being out in the sun all day calls for proper hydration.
02:46 The best part about the islands
02:47 is that you have access to coconut water,
02:49 which is an excellent way to stay hydrated,
02:51 especially if you're drinking.
02:54 Number three, food.
02:55 We had caterers give us delicious Antiguan food,
02:58 like corn soup, rice and beans, plantain,
03:01 veggies, and chicken and ribs.
03:03 (upbeat music)
03:06 (upbeat music)
03:08 The best thing about traveling abroad
03:20 is that it exposes you to new experiences,
03:23 new cultures, new food.
03:24 I'm a huge foodie,
03:25 so I didn't really get into traveling abroad until recently,
03:30 but I would highly recommend it.
03:32 The sun is out.
03:34 The water is so clear and glistening.
03:36 I'm a Pisces.
03:37 I love being in the water,
03:38 so I'm about to get right in.
03:40 It's dope.
03:41 I love going different places
03:42 and meeting different people who I would have never met
03:45 if I would have stayed in New Jersey all my life.
03:47 - You come to the beach, you pull up.
03:49 All your food is included, all your drinks are included.
03:52 And then we got fire DJs playing on the ones and twos.
03:55 We had some horses pull up.
03:56 We got some jet skis out here.
03:58 But everything you want from the beach,
04:00 one spot, just vibing,
04:02 taking it easy after a very long night last night.
04:05 - To be able to learn
04:09 and being able to adapt to new cultures and to new people,
04:12 I think it's very easy to get stuck in your way of living
04:15 and traveling helps you really break out of that box.
04:18 - My whole lived experience right now
04:22 is what some people would say bougie.
04:24 I'm on a yacht like every other weekend
04:27 and I'm in these huge mansions and villas
04:30 every other weekend as well.
04:32 So I think my life right now
04:34 is just what some might call a little bit bougie.
04:37 - The crew will continue partying
04:40 until nightfall on the beach
04:42 and then move back to the villas.
04:43 It's been a long but good day in Antigua.
04:46 See how the Bougie and Abroad crew act
04:56 when CDE rents out a chartered yacht with a full open bar.
05:00 Next episode, we'll show you what a raft up is.
05:03 You don't wanna miss it.
05:04 See you next time.
