In today's news report, I am going to talk about a woman and his son who were stripped and assaulted by a group of individuals on the outskirts of Agartala, and The authorities have not yet made any arrests related to this case, as mentioned by an officer.
According to information from residents, three teenagers supposedly stole money from a shop in Shanmura on the Agartala outskirts on Sunday, intending to buy drugs.
Several young individuals apprehended the trio, subsequently releasing two while keeping one minor detained. On Monday, area residents, led by a gram panchayat member, summoned the minor and his mother to a kangaroo court, where certain youths brutally beat both the woman and her son.
The police later intervened, rescuing the injured woman and her son, who was then admitted to Agartala Government Medical College and Hospital with multiple injuries.
A police investigation was initiated, including recording statements from the victims, in an attempt to apprehend the culprits involved in the crime but still no arrests have been made thus far.
The woman shared her ordeal with the media, she said and i am quoting, ""While I consented to returning the stolen money, the drunk youths mercilessly assaulted my son and me, even shaving his head. Eventually, they exposed me to the public, subjected me to a beating, and attempted to harm both of us. Ultimately, the police arrived at the scene, rescuing us from the crowd.""
Reports from the media indicated that Chief Minister Manik Saha has acknowledged the incident and instructed law enforcement to press charges against all individuals implicated in the offense.
Now the question is do we have law and police in this country? I am asking this because incidents like these seem to be increasing by the day. Why no fear of the law and police, If we do, what right does anybody have to take the law into their own hands, beat, and strip a woman and her son? What era are we living in?
