Bhubaneswar: Two more persons, including a woman, were arrested on Thursday in connection with the alleged brutal murder of a police volunteer, Sahadeb Naya on Rasulgarh overbridge in Bhubaneswar. With this, the total number of arrests in the case has gone up to five. The Commissionerate Police has given information to the media about the murder of police Mitra 'Sahadeb Nayak' that took place on the outskirts of the capital on Wednesday morning. At a press conference on Thursday, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said that five accused have been arrested so far in this murder incident. The arrested accused are Laxmidhar Nayak, his wife Lipika Nayak, Rocky Nayak, Rakesh Nayak and his wife Laxmi Nayak. Laxmidhar and Lipika are the main accused. They will be tried in court. The police are further investigating who else is involved in this murder. The DCP said that it was a planned murder.They came to the scene on two bikes to kill Sahadeb. While the main accused couple was on one bike, three other accused arrived on another bike. They committed the murder as per the previous plan and fled the scene. The police have also seized two bikes, four mobile phones and two bags from the accused. Based on the seized items, more information can be collected from the accused. In the case of the brutal murder of Saheb Dev Nayak. a special team of the Commissionerate Police took the arrested accused Laxmidhar Nayak to the banks of the Dayanadi river on Thursday afternoon and conducted a crime scene recreation. Sahadev was killed on his way back from school yesterday morning. The accused beheaded him on the Rasulgarh-Vani Bihar road. After this, he fled. After this case, the Commissionerate Police immediately formed a special team and started an investigation. After examining the CCTV footage, the police team headed towards Khordha and Nayagarh. By tracking their mobile phones, they were able to arrest the three accused from Sharankul Bazaar in Nayagarh.
