00:00 What's up guys?
00:07 I'm Austin and welcome to my mind massage.
00:10 I'm gonna take you through a sound journey
00:15 using some of my favorite things.
00:17 Okay, first we have this beautiful candle.
00:28 (lighter clicking)
00:31 What is it?
00:34 Breathe by Rosemary and Mint,
00:38 infused with pure CBD oil.
00:40 Believe it or not, I'm actually super afraid of lighters.
00:45 I've never used one before, so maybe I'll tap on it.
00:50 (tapping)
00:57 Oh my God.
00:59 I'm overcoming my fear.
01:02 Can you hear that?
01:07 That's me being free of my fear.
01:11 I think my biggest inspiration for making music was my dad.
01:16 We grew up playing drums together
01:18 and I think just being put in middle school band
01:23 and just seeing everyone's passion for it kinda fueled me
01:26 and made me wanna kinda like break the mold
01:29 and become more than just a band member.
01:33 Oh, this is a good one.
01:35 My favorite, wait, most embarrassing song
01:39 to sing in the shower.
01:40 I sing everything in the shower.
01:43 Maybe "Still the One" by Shania Twain
01:51 or anything like by Carrie Underwood.
01:54 (laughing)
01:56 Okay, overcoming my fear part two.
02:05 I'm nervous all over again.
02:07 We have a bag of incense.
02:13 I've never used this one before,
02:17 but every incense to me is beautiful in its own way.
02:21 (plastic crinkling)
02:24 Oh, come on.
02:28 Doing everything quiet is really tough.
02:31 And it's green.
02:39 We're matching.
02:42 And we have this beautiful incense holder.
02:51 I'm gonna try to not get a splinter.
02:52 Okay, we're gonna try this again.
02:57 Three, two, one.
03:01 Come on.
03:04 Oh my God.
03:06 Oh my God, my hand is shaking
03:09 'cause I'm so nervous about this lighter.
03:11 Oh, it's working.
03:13 I saw on a previous one of these
03:19 that NLE Choppa said I need to make a wish before.
03:22 I wish that lighters didn't exist.
03:26 My song "Hell Soon," I wrote it last March
03:33 and I was, I wouldn't say down bad,
03:37 but I was in a confused, difficult part of my life
03:42 coming out of a relationship
03:44 and it felt like the first time in a long time
03:49 that I felt like a child again,
03:51 like dating new people and trying to maneuver
03:55 that whole out of a relationship ordeal.
03:59 I don't know, it was like a lot of confusion
04:03 whether what was right versus what was wrong
04:06 and what that gray area was.
04:18 We have these beautiful sun chips
04:20 and this is something I wish I was afraid of.
04:24 100% whole grain.
04:28 Oh wow.
04:40 (plastic crinkling)
04:43 I feel like my parents are home
05:02 and I'm trying to get the chips late at night.
05:09 I can't not eat one.
05:11 I deserve it for using the lighter.
05:13 I've got this whole grain all over my fingers.
05:26 My favorite music video I've ever created
05:32 is from a song I released last year called "Be So Cruel."
05:36 It's based around American Psycho,
05:39 which is one of my favorite movies
05:40 and it feels like more than a music video.
05:44 It has a very cinematic movie quality to it
05:48 that I feel like I like in music videos more.
05:53 I didn't wanna make something
05:56 that a lot of other people were doing
05:59 and yeah, just anything that's more dark
06:02 and moody and cinematic is just for me.
06:08 Switching genre for one album.
06:10 Oh, I love so many different genres.
06:16 I love pop punk music,
06:18 but I would have to switch from R&B to country music.
06:24 I think that would be my go-to 'cause I grew up on it,
06:27 so, and I can do a fun little voice.
06:30 This is the Atomic Fidget Ball.
06:37 (plastic crinkling)
06:40 Oh, wait, I gotta break through the plastic.
06:45 I got it.
06:54 I'm not sure what this is,
07:03 but it's coming home with me.
07:06 If I wasn't a musician,
07:13 I probably would be a sports analyst.
07:17 Actually, this is really good practice right now,
07:21 so I hope this turns out good
07:25 because if this whole music thing doesn't,
07:27 this'll be my audition tape,
07:28 but yeah, I love watching football, basketball,
07:32 really any sport, and yeah,
07:36 maybe if they do an ASMR league, I'll be allowed in.
07:40 My best advice for self-love is,
07:47 this might be really simple,
07:50 but I feel like today it's really, really difficult to do,
07:53 and that's just to be by yourself
07:56 for longer than you're comfortable with.
08:00 I think I learned the most about myself,
08:02 and learned to love myself the most
08:04 through just having to deal with myself completely alone.
08:09 So, you know, if you have to lock yourself up,
08:12 maybe that's what it takes,
08:14 but you'll learn to love
08:17 and learn to create your own happiness that way.
08:20 Yeah, I think that's just the number one thing,
08:25 and it's not easy,
08:27 'cause you're looking at your phone right now probably,
08:29 but maybe just take some time alone.
08:32 (tape ripping)
08:34 Once again, I'm Austin,
08:38 and thank you for coming to my mind massage.
08:42 And don't forget, go listen to "Where Do They Go" from here.
08:45 (tape ripping)
08:49 - Beautiful.
08:51 (Austin laughs)
08:52 Thank you so much.
08:53 - I feel evil with this thing in my hand.
08:55 I don't know what it is about this.
08:58 - Okay, guys, I think I'm done.
