Surprise Roster Cut Detroit Lions Could Make

00:21 The one guy that really stands out to me right now, John, as I look at this topic

00:25 specifically, is a guy in Romeo Aquaro, who's a good veteran presence, you know,

00:29 as an edge rusher can get off the line, get to the QB was very good a few seasons

00:34 He's been hampered by the injury bug in recent seasons.

00:37 And now along with that, there are more options along that position at the

00:43 expedition, specifically when you have Aiden Hutchinson, consider him and what

00:47 he can do at the edge.

00:48 Uh, also James Houston, Josh Paschal, John Kaminski, you can go on and on about

00:53 all these different options.

00:54 The Lions have at the edge position guys that can get after the passer and do it

00:59 at a very efficient clip too.

01:01 Um, also Charles Harris, another dude that can really get off the edge, get up

01:05 in the QB, really wreak havoc against the opposition.

01:09 So those are the guys right now that are standing in the way of Romeo Aquaro are

01:13 really stiff competition to Aquaro at the same exact position too.

01:17 Subsequently, Aquaro, not looking great for him right now.

01:21 And there is a chance he could be a surprise cut come the start of the regular

01:26 season.

01:26 As in before the end of training camp, you could see a cut in favor of those

01:31 other options that are cheaper largely too.

01:34 Now, Aiden Hutchinson is obviously the guy you're going to build around.

01:36 So he's not going to be cheap long-term, but a guy that is part of your core,

01:40 Had a great season a year ago, nearly recorded 10 sacks.

01:44 Also James Houston had a great start in his career a year ago, obviously got the

01:48 late start of the season, but once he got in there, was terrific coming off the

01:52 edge and getting after the QB.

01:54 So all those different options, plus second year pro Josh Paschal, the veteran

01:58 Charles Harris, once again, all these different dudes that had better campaigns

02:01 a year ago than Romeo Aquaro, thus hurting his odds of making the roster coming out

02:05 of camp this year.
