00:00 Hello everybody, my name is Marlow and today I'm going to be showing you over 50 ideas
00:05 for what to build as your house in Minecraft.
00:08 If you're not sure what type of home to make and maybe you want something a bit different
00:12 then this video should hopefully help you out, whether that's by inspiring an idea of
00:17 your own or even just using one of these builds as your actual house.
00:21 Luckily for you, I have a tutorial for each and every one that will be linked in the description
00:27 down below.
00:28 We'll start nice and simple.
00:30 How about pitching up a small tent out in the middle of the woods where you can be at
00:34 one with nature.
00:35 Another house that's perfect for a location like this is a lumberjack themed house.
00:40 Simply put, it's just a regular wooden house built to look as though it belongs to a lumberjack.
00:46 That's you, you're the lumberjack in this scenario.
00:49 Maybe you want something a little less realistic though.
00:51 You could always build your house in the side of a mountain, allowing you to get some glorious
00:55 views through these big windows.
00:58 You could even have part of the house protruding out of the cliff along with a lovely balcony
01:03 to stand on.
01:04 Better still, you could put it behind a waterfall.
01:07 It's the same concept, just with water flowing around the entrance.
01:11 Perhaps you want something a little bit more up to date.
01:13 A modern house might suit you a bit better.
01:16 Whether it's a tiny modern house or a really big one that makes you look like a millionaire.
01:20 Going even further forward in time, this cyberpunk house is a really cool build style that will
01:25 definitely impress your neighbours.
01:27 Why set up your base on land at all?
01:30 Why not head out onto the open seas and build yourself a fancy yacht to live on?
01:34 Or maybe just a nice simple raft?
01:37 Or even combine a boat and a house to get a houseboat?
01:41 Then again, why not just head underwater and build a house down there with a fish instead?
01:46 The water can be quite cold come to think about it, so maybe building your house in
01:50 a lava pool instead might be better.
01:52 You may need to go to the nether for that one though, so whilst you're there, you could
01:56 set up camp too.
01:57 If you're a psychopath.
01:59 If you are, I do have quite a few nether house tutorials, lots to pick from.
02:03 It doesn't hurt sometimes to just pick a style and go with that for your house.
02:07 The trouble is, what style could you choose?
02:10 Well there's medieval, but that's been done a million times before, so maybe an adobe
02:15 styled house could be pretty cool.
02:17 Or even a spanish themed house and make yourself a villa to live in.
02:21 There's also nordic, I find a hay roof works best here so make sure you have some wheat
02:25 on standby.
02:27 Japanese houses are always beautiful, no matter how big or small.
02:31 Maybe even build a fantasy/magical looking house.
02:35 I'm not sure on the architectural term for this style, but desert sounds like a fun idea
02:40 if you want to set up in that biome.
02:42 You can also have a look on google for some more building styles that you can follow along.
02:46 One of my favourite houses to build in Minecraft are hobbit holes, they're just so cosy.
02:51 You can also use this same idea of building a house inside of something with just the
02:55 entrance on show, a little bit like the cliff houses from earlier, and then just change
03:00 up the style depending on what it is.
03:02 For example, this house is built into an iceberg, so I've gone with some colder, icy looking
03:07 blocks like quartz.
03:09 Maybe you don't even need an entrance at all, and you can just build your home into a naturally
03:13 generating cave.
03:15 Really helpful if you like mining.
03:17 If you do want to build an underground house, but you don't actually want to go quite as
03:20 deep as that, you can always just go a few blocks down and have a glass ceiling, which
03:25 can make for a really cool looking house, especially from a bird's eye view.
03:30 Alternatively, if you don't want to see the outside world for some reason, and you want
03:34 something a bit more hidden away, then maybe a small bunker is more to your liking.
03:39 Then again, maybe you want to be able to do more than just see the outside world.
03:43 Well with this house, you have direct access to it, all whilst being built into the ground
03:48 itself.
03:49 This one's a classic, but I think for a good reason.
03:52 How about building yourself a mighty castle to live in, or even something a little bit
03:56 smaller but just as defensive.
03:59 Possibly even something with a nether theme and a lava moat to make it look very intimidating.
04:04 If you're not defending yourself from your server mates and instead would like to live
04:07 peacefully with them, this two player house could be perfect.
04:11 Each side is identical, so you don't need to fight over who gets the left and the right.
04:16 Something that can be fun to do is turn things that already exist into Minecraft into your
04:21 own house.
04:22 For example, this small flower pot can be sized up into a massive flower pot that you
04:26 can live inside of.
04:28 See this tiny red mushroom that you definitely couldn't fit inside of?
04:32 Pfft, well now you can, just like that.
04:34 This works for mobs too.
04:35 The new sniffer mob is on its way to 1.20, so why not get an early start and build it
04:40 in your world to live in.
04:41 Something else you could do is turn your house into a challenge of sorts.
04:46 Maybe try building your house out of wood products only, like this one here, at least
04:50 for the most part.
04:52 You could even try to go against all of your building instincts and make a diagonal house.
04:57 Looks a bit weird at first, but it's really fun to try.
05:00 Let's now take a step back and go through some more simple ideas.
05:04 There's nothing wrong with building a cute and cozy small starter house like these.
05:08 There's also nothing wrong with building some much bigger houses like these.
05:12 Perhaps you don't want a regular house as such?
05:14 How about a tower?
05:16 Each floor can be designated for a certain aspect of Minecraft survival.
05:21 You could also build a tiny cottage to live in, maybe one with a fairy tale twist added
05:25 into it.
05:26 A log cabin built in a snowy biome can be super warm and comforting to set up as your
05:31 house.
05:32 Same goes with this small Swiss chalet.
05:35 Just a few more ideas to get through now, and none of these really correlate with any
05:39 of the others, so we'll just reel them off right at the end here.
05:42 Starting off with a hanging house.
05:44 Yep, this home is a big ol' ball hanging from the underside of a mountain, using some
05:50 grindstones to serve as really strong chains.
05:53 Next up is a bridge house.
05:55 It's probably what you'd expect.
05:57 You build a bridge, but instead of it just being a straight shot from one side to the
06:00 other, your house is right in the middle.
06:04 With the fairly new addition of mangrove swamps, houses on stilts can be a great thing to build
06:08 as your base, perfect for elevating yourself out of the murky waters.
06:13 Tree houses sound like a cool idea, but they can be kinda tricky to pull off well.
06:18 Luckily, this tree house is actually really simple.
06:21 It's more of a tree platform if we're being honest, but it still works just as well.
06:26 You may have heard of igloos before?
06:28 Well how about a glass igloo, so you can perfectly stare into the night sky and maybe catch a
06:34 glimpse of the northern lights if you're lucky.
06:36 If you want to stare even further out into the night sky, well you're gonna have to set
06:40 up shop in an observatory.
06:43 This one is fitted with a giant telescope of course, as well as a functional house.
06:48 And last but not least, we have a steampunk airship where you can live on the ship itself
06:54 or in the balloon.
06:56 You might need an elytra for this one though.
06:58 So there we go everybody, that was over 50 ideas of what your next Minecraft house could
07:03 be.
07:04 I really hope you got some good inspiration from this video and that you enjoyed watching.
07:08 Thank you ever so much for doing that and I will see you in the next one.
07:12 Bye for now.
