00:00 Flooding is still a problem in some schools.

00:04 One school in Ilocos Sur was flooded because of the Egay Flood,

00:07 and now it's flooded because of the Goring Flood.

00:10 Witnesses are Mackie Polido and Sandra Aguinaldo.

00:13 Some teachers were forced to give up their jobs

00:19 because of the Goring Flood

00:21 in Pantay Tamurong Elementary School in Kawayan, Ilocos Sur.

00:24 The school is now flooded.

00:27 It took almost a month to clean up

00:30 to remove the thick white that was left by the Egay Flood.

00:33 According to the school's board,

00:36 the first week of the class was a modular class.

00:39 In Calumpit, Bulacan,

00:41 the flood still hasn't subsided

00:43 in Doña Damiana de Leon Maca Memorial Elementary School.

00:47 In this school, Calumpit, Bulacan,

00:49 six classrooms still have water.

00:52 And you can see right here in front,

00:55 there's still water in the back.

00:58 But the school's principal is sure

01:00 that the children won't drown in the water.

01:03 In fact, some of the classrooms were converted.

01:06 One of the classes will be done here in the school's board.

01:11 The class is shifting first,

01:14 so from 6 to 4,

01:17 the school hours of some students are only.

01:19 Like that, there's a storm coming.

01:22 So we don't expect that by September, it will dry up.

01:34 440 classrooms were damaged by the storm,

01:45 Like in San Jose Elementary School in Rodriguez Rizal,

01:48 where parents are fighting over materials to buy,

01:52 to make tables.

01:54 Only a few pieces of cedar were left for Grade 6.

01:58 In San Jose National High School,

02:02 The CR is a big problem for students who are just studying.

02:07 For 4,000 female students,

02:11 they can only use these 3 cubicles.

02:14 The same goes for male students, only 3 cubicles.

02:18 Because the toilets have no flush,

02:20 they have to pour water from the toilet bowl.

02:26 Washing their hands is also a problem.

02:39 80 students will be in each classroom with no seats.

02:44 According to DepEd,

02:46 159,000 classrooms are missing in the country.

02:49 The solution for DepEd is shifting or blended learning.

02:53 They are also continuing to address the lack of tables and seats.
