00:05 How did you get inspired by your grandmother?

00:08 My grandmother was my biggest fan.

00:12 So anything I did, singing, she actually believed in my singing before I actually believed in my singing.

00:18 So I just wanted to be a songwriter and she kept pushing me to sing.

00:23 And then of course, for some reason, Vic Del Rosario of Vyker Black Gold Records then had been listening to my demos.

00:32 And he said, "You know, you can sing. Why don't you cut a couple of songs and make a single and then we'll see how it goes."

00:39 And I also heard that you know, I'm also a bit of a snob.

00:43 Because I really don't know how to be a snob.

00:46 Maritis, I mean, Miss Odette, your grandmother had a big role in your singing career because she was the one who convinced Miss Khoo.

01:23 So I begged her, "You're so shy. You're going to go to her?"

01:27 She said, "Where's Khoo now?"

01:29 I said, "Well, I left her at the recording studio, Cinema Audio."

01:33 So my grandmother went there and I followed her.

01:35 I stood by the doorway.

01:37 She tried to convince Khoo.

01:39 They were like, maybe, that's the distance.

01:42 And then later on, "Okay, grandma, I'll sing the song."

01:46 I said, "What happened?"

01:48 So she really convinced Khoo.

01:51 Grandma is magic.

01:52 There's magic.

01:53 There's fairness.

01:54 Because at that time, Khoo was a superstar.

01:56 Yes.

01:57 Your grandmother was a real superstar.
