00:00 >> Have you kind of settled in, either Deep Safety or
00:03 Nickel or you're still working at both?
00:05 >> Actually, yes, I'm still working at both.
00:09 >> What's your preference?
00:10 What feels natural to you?
00:12 >> I'll play whatever, honestly, whatever to get me on the field,
00:15 do whatever's best for the team.
00:16 Free safety or star, wherever I need it, I'll be there.
00:20 >> You didn't send the defense, performed better in the second scrimmage.
00:23 Just how do you feel like you guys did as a group?
00:25 >> I feel like we did good.
00:26 Definitely better than the first scrimmage.
00:28 We gotta clean up how we finish in drops.
00:31 But that's something that we'll work on in these practices and
00:36 things of that such, so we'll be all right.
00:39 >> I've had a couple times playing at Hudson now.
00:41 Obviously, no fans, but
00:42 what's that experience been like for you, actually getting in there?
00:45 >> Actually been good, different.
00:47 Not really what I'm used to at a new stadium.
00:51 So I'm just looking forward to see how it is with all the fans there,
00:55 everybody going crazy.
00:56 >> What have you learned about what the secondary can be like through those
00:59 scrimmages?
01:00 >> I learned that we got at depth.
01:02 A lot of us is experienced back there.
01:05 A lot of young guys is stepping up to the challenge.
01:07 So depth could be our friend in the future.
01:10 >> Who are some of the young guys that have popped through?
01:13 >> Daylon Austin, Collin Gill, Rod Pleasant.
01:18 Who else would know the safety, I would say.
01:22 This is a freshman.
01:26 Can't really think of it, but they all been growing and
01:31 getting better every day, and we've seen it.
01:34 >> What do you think of bringing that nickel position in particular?
01:38 >> A good cover guy, cuz he used to play in corner.
01:40 So he can come in and lock up in the inside.
01:43 That's who he's gonna bring.
01:45 >> What's, for a fan who doesn't necessarily know the nuance of all that,
01:49 what's the difference for you as a guy going back to safety versus a corner
01:52 moving over?
01:52 >> The difference for me would be the cover aspect.
01:59 As a safety, I wouldn't say you're in man to man coverage a lot.
02:03 Pretty much gotta come down, run support to play over top.
02:08 As a corner, it's kinda similar if you're in a covering phase, but
02:12 it'll be different once it's a running attack or something.
02:16 They got used to tackling, and corners don't really tackle as much, so
02:19 that would be the difference right there.
