00:02 Here is our latest update on the Super Typhoon Goring

00:08 as of Wednesday, this morning, August 30, 2023.

00:13 In our latest satellite images,

00:15 we were able to see the Super Typhoon Goring

00:18 which is even stronger,

00:19 with its maximum sustained winds at 195 km/h,

00:24 it's close to the middle, and it's already reaching 240 km/h.

00:28 It's close to the water of Sabtang,

00:32 in the province of Batanes, in Sabtang Island.

00:36 It's also a municipality of Sabtang.

00:38 It's also reaching its maximum speed of 20 km/h.

00:44 Based on our latest data,

00:46 it seems like there was no landfall,

00:48 even so, the winds were still very strong

00:52 that it brought,

00:53 particularly in Babuyan Islands,

00:55 and in some parts of Batanes,

00:59 where the so-called eye wall is close,

01:02 or where the strongest winds brought the typhoon.

01:06 Now, it's moving to the north,

01:09 and it will start to move to the parts of Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

01:15 Meanwhile, we are also monitoring the Severe Tropical Storm Haikoui,

01:35 particularly in the parts of Luzon and Cabizayaan.

01:40 So, in general, today,

01:42 a large part of Luzon and Cabizayaan,

01:45 especially the parts of Visayas,

01:47 will experience a cloudy sky

01:49 where there is a high chance of rain.

01:52 For now, this is the latest track of the Severe Tropical Storm,

01:57 which has an international name, Saula.

01:59 And our forecast here is that it will continue to move

02:34 but because the storm is still far away,

02:36 we lowered the Tropical Cyclone Wind signal,

02:39 particularly here at signal number 4,

02:41 in the southern portion of Batanes,

02:43 northern portion of Babuyan Islands,

02:45 signal number 3,

02:47 in the southern part of Batanes,

02:49 southwestern portion of Babuyan Islands,

02:51 while signal number 2,

02:53 in the southern part of Babuyan Islands,

02:55 northern part of mainland Cagayan,

02:58 and northern part of Ilocos Norte.

03:00 Signal number 1,

03:02 in the northern and eastern portion of Isabela,

03:04 southern part of Ilocos Norte,

03:06 southern part of Cagayan,

03:08 Apayau, northern portion of Abra,

03:10 northern portion of Calinga,

03:12 and extreme northern portion of Ilocos Sur.

03:15 We are hoping that in Isabela,

03:19 the Tropical Cyclone Wind signal will be reduced

03:22 while the storm is still far away.

03:25 It is already far away,

03:27 so it will slowly decrease,

03:29 or the storm will be reduced in the wind.

03:31 Meanwhile, when it comes to the rain,

03:33 we are hoping that it will still rain

03:35 in the large portion of northern Luzon,

03:37 here in the extreme northern Luzon,

03:39 including Batanes, Ilocos Norte,

03:41 Abra, Apayau, Calinga,

03:44 and also in Cagayan, mainly Cagayan and Isabela.

03:46 I mentioned that the provinces are still hoping

03:49 that the rain that will be experienced today

03:52 will continue after the Tropical Cyclone.

03:54 Meanwhile, after the strong winds

04:27 this is the rainfall map,

04:29 we can see that there is a high chance

04:31 that it will still rain until Friday,

04:33 particularly in the northern part of Luzon,

04:36 in Sambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro area,

04:39 and in Camaynilaan.

04:41 We can see that there is a high chance

04:43 that it will still rain from today until Friday,

04:46 as well as the southwest monsoon,

04:48 and the areas that are being affected by the Tropical Cyclone,

04:50 such as Rizal, Cavite,

04:51 and also in the Batangas.

04:54 In the areas where we are expecting a strong rainfall,

04:58 we are still hoping for landslides,

05:02 and sudden floods,

05:04 especially in the areas

05:07 where there is a high chance

05:10 of landslides due to the strong rains.
