Max recently found a first run (first off the press), first edition, signed Harry Potter book that his publisher mum bought him when he was a little boy - it may now be worth tens of thousands of pounds. When JK Rowling came to Leeds Varieties, his mum queued up to get the book signed but Max - then aged four - got bored in the queue and went to Toys 'R Us instead. The book has been safely stored at his mums but she found it in a recent clear out, and they are now getting it valued - others have gone for incredible sums. This one comes with a "friends of potter" badge.

00:00 Hi I'm Max from Leeds and these are the Harry Potter books which I've found.
00:03 They've been sat on a shelf for about 20 odd years.
00:06 We got them signed when I was much younger, I was about 4 years old.
00:09 Went to the book signing when JK Rowling came to Leeds West Yorkshire Playhouse.
00:15 And yeah, I'm getting them valued but we're hoping that they're probably worth maybe about a fair few grand.
00:20 I think it's probably going to be about 7 grand, something like that, because this one's a first edition.
00:26 It's crazy because obviously this is just something that we had when we were little, we've read them loads of times.
00:31 They've been on holiday with us and my mum read them to us when we were younger so
00:35 they're not the sort of thing that we expected would fetch that much value but
00:39 I did know that they were signed so I kept them away on a shelf for years and sort of forgot about them but
00:44 yeah, hoping that obviously we could vlog them if we go on holiday or something.
00:48 So I was 4 years old at the time, I know that like, I remember going to see her doing the signing
00:54 and she was like reading some passages from the Chamber of Secrets but I got a bit irritable because I was like 4 years old
00:59 so me and my dad went off. It was actually my sister that got them signed because I didn't want to queue.
01:03 But yeah, I do remember reading some passages with Dobby the House Elf and stuff like that, so it was fun.
01:09 Shaking, Harry let Dobby out of the wardrobe.
01:13 "See what it's like here?" he said. "See what I've got to put up with back at Hogwarts?
01:18 It's the only place I've got, well, I think I've got friends.
01:22 Friends who don't even write to Potter," said Dobby slyly.
01:26 "I expect they've just been... Hang on," said Harry, frowning.
01:30 "How do you know my friends haven't been writing to me?" Dobby shuffled his feet.
01:35 He exchanged dark looks with his wife, Petunia. Harry tried to argue back but his words were drowned by a long, loud belch from Dursley's son, Dudley.
01:45 "I want more bacon!" "There's more in the frying pan, sweetens," said Aunt Petunia, turning her misty eyes onto her massive son.
01:53 "We must feed you up while we've got the chance. I don't like the sound of that school food."
01:58 "Nonsense, Petunia. I never went hungry when I was at Smeltings," said Uncle Vernon heartily.
02:04 "Dudley gets enough, don't you, son?" Dudley was so large, his bottom drooped over either side of the kitchen chair.
02:11 chair, Grindon turned to Harry. "Pass the frying pan."
