Georgia Bright is a special education teacher in Indiana. Ever since their mother passed away, Georgia has acted as the surrogate mother to her younger sister Lizzie Bright, and as such has always been seen as the responsible one taking the safe path in life. While she has been accepted to grad school in Indiana, she has also been recommended to a program that would take her around the world teaching special ed which is more uncertain in terms of what that life would hold. Instead of spending Christmas in Indiana as they usually do, Georgia and their father Michael Bright will spend Christmas in London where Lizzie now lives, they collectively having Christmas with Lizzie's boyfriend Henry Carter and his family. While in London, Georgia meets Graham Savoy, and despite their slightly antagonistic first encounter, there seems to be a romantic spark between the two. Slowly over time, Georgia learns that Graham is Henry's older half brother, that Henry is planning on proposing to Lizzie on Christmas Day which totally catches Georgia off guard, and the looks that Graham always gets is because he is a famous footballer, the captain of Newbourne FC. Closer to the end than the beginning of his career, Graham is at a crossroads in fighting a knee injury which may signal the end of his career. He does not know what his life will look like if he does retire especially as he has always seen football as a connection to his deceased father. And while he has always been wary of entering into a romantic relationship in not knowing if the other person is interested in him or interested in "Graham Savoy", he, in his retirement life, will still have that as an issue while losing that connection to his past. So one of the reasons he was so willing eventually to open up to Georgia was because she had no idea of who he was or his fame. The question becomes if Georgia and Graham can open themselves up to a relationship with all these uncertainties in their lives.

00:01:21I talked to Santa
00:01:24I know, I know, it's a big deal
00:01:26And he told me that this year he's so swamped
00:01:30That he wants my help getting some of his gifts to you
00:01:33Is that okay?
00:01:34Yeah
00:01:35Okay then
00:01:36Now, this next part is very, very important
00:01:39You can't open these until Christmas morning, okay?
00:01:43Got it Miss B

00:01:50Santa
00:01:51Rudolph
00:01:52Miss B, what about you?
00:01:54Well, I'm excited because this year I'm going all the way to London, England
00:02:00To visit my little sister for Christmas
00:02:02Harry Styles lives there
00:02:04Yes he does, nice one Piper
00:02:07Oh, everybody
00:02:09It's officially Christmas
00:02:11Rake Brinker Bears
00:02:14Let's go
00:02:23Christmas Eve
00:02:41Spence, next time I catch you watching this, I'm throwing it in the Thames
00:02:44I'd be a split second quicker
00:02:46Yeah, they did miss you and collided into each other, I know
00:02:50Look, I promised Jill I'd ask you this
00:02:54Will you please consider going out with the girl from her office?
00:02:58It's too hard to date when I'm playing
00:03:00Especially when I'm recovering
00:03:02Right, well
00:03:03Have you given any more thought to next year?
00:03:05As your manager, I'll need an answer after Christmas
00:03:07Endorsement deals depend on it for contract renewals
00:03:10I don't know what to do, mate
00:03:11It's not just me
00:03:12What about the fans?
00:03:14My family?
00:03:15The team?
00:03:16I can't imagine not playing
00:03:18But I also know I can't play forever
00:03:20Word of advice?
00:03:22From your friend?
00:03:24You're the only one who can decide when you're done
00:03:27I do want to win the Champions League with Newborn
00:03:30And I can come back from this
00:03:32Well, you're not 25 anymore, mate
00:03:35It's not going to be as easy this time
00:03:37At some point, all this is going to go away and you need to be okay
00:03:40Your family needs to know you're going to be okay
00:03:43I get a call from Lynn every other day asking for updates
00:03:46I want my mum to stop doing that
00:03:48Look, Jill and I are taking the kids to visit the folks in Birmingham
00:03:52I suggest you do the same
00:03:53I don't think Jill would appreciate that
00:03:55Rest
00:03:56Enjoy Christmas with your family for once
00:03:59And really think about what you're asking of yourself
00:04:02Then, you can tell me your decision
00:04:05Right?
00:04:06Merry Christmas, mate
00:04:09Happy Christmas
00:04:16Merry Christmas
00:04:27Hi
00:04:34I can't believe you're finally here
00:04:36I can't believe you live in a flat and take the tube and see things like Laurie and Liv
00:04:40Your baby sister is all grown up
00:04:42I can see that
00:04:44Is that all you brought?
00:04:46Why over pack when I can read your cool London closet?
00:04:49Not happening
00:04:50It's absolutely happening
00:04:54You brought the peanut butter, right?
00:04:56Yes, ma'am. Two jars
00:04:57Good. It tastes different over here
00:04:59We need ours or mum's cookies won't be perfect
00:05:02What about mum's stocking?
00:05:03Dad's bringing it
00:05:05We should remind him
00:05:06You're reliable, but dad on the other hand
00:05:08I will text him right now
00:05:15Stocking's on the way
00:05:17Perfect. Thank you
00:05:18Oh, you'll never guess what showed up as a memory on my phone yesterday
00:05:22What?
00:05:23Merry Christmas
00:05:25Oh, yeah
00:05:28Our dance was incredible
00:05:30Because you forced me to practice it until it was perfect
00:05:33It was worth it
00:05:34I mean, we did win Best Sibling Dance Duo at the Christmas Talent Show that year
00:05:37I'm pretty sure that's only because mum volunteered to head the Easter Egg Hunt Committee an hour before they announced the winners
00:05:43Wait, is that true?
00:05:45Oh
00:05:46Yeah, sweetie
00:05:56Hey, hey. It's good to see you
00:05:58On the house
00:06:00Happy Christmas
00:06:02It's good to see you, young man
00:06:04Thanks, Mary. You too
00:06:05Boys are no good without you
00:06:07Mary!
00:06:08I'm coming
00:06:09I'm coming
00:06:10Cheers
00:06:14So, uh, thanks for the call
00:06:16You've been a bit elusive lately
00:06:19How are things?
00:06:20How's the, uh, how's the knee?
00:06:22It's great, actually
00:06:23I'm starting against Tottenham next week
00:06:25Oh
00:06:26I wish you were
00:06:27Me too
00:06:28So, work good then?
00:06:29Yeah
00:06:30Investment banking has its perks
00:06:32I rarely get body slammed and, uh, I can dine without strangers taking my picture
00:06:37Let's be honest
00:06:38Come on, you love your life
00:06:39You're literally living the dream
00:06:40Look at you
00:06:41You have a job that doesn't consume everything you do
00:06:44A woman you adore
00:06:46And if you have a bad hair day, nobody cares
00:06:48Eh, I care
00:06:51You don't have to wonder if people in your life are genuine
00:06:54Or if they want something from you
00:06:55Women are only interested in me because I'm the captain of Newborn
00:06:59They don't care who I really am
00:07:04I'm just having a day
00:07:06Enough of my pity party
00:07:07Tell me something good about you
00:07:10I'm...
00:07:11Okay
00:07:13But you have to promise not to tell anybody
00:07:16I'm going to propose at Christmas
00:07:24That's a big step
00:07:25Yeah
00:07:26You ready for that?
00:07:27Look, I know you're not exactly around all that often
00:07:29But I'm telling you because I've never been more sure of anything in my entire life
00:07:34Oh
00:07:36My little brother's getting married
00:07:39I don't need your approval but
00:07:41I would like your support
00:07:45She's a great girl
00:07:46If you're confident now is the right time
00:07:48That's all that matters
00:07:49And I'm here for you
00:07:51Cheers
00:07:52Cheers
00:07:55I'll get my best man speech ready, shall I?
00:07:58So cute in here
00:08:00It's a little messy but cute
00:08:03What's with the sad empty tree?
00:08:05Oh, I was waiting for you
00:08:07Every year for my entire life we've decorated the tree together
00:08:10It's tradition
00:08:11Also, I don't have any ornaments
00:08:14Right
00:08:16Are you sure Henry's okay staying at his parents while I'm here?
00:08:19It was his idea
00:08:20He said he wanted us to have our sister bonding
00:08:22So we're going to do that
00:08:24It was his idea
00:08:25He said he wanted us to have our sister bonding time
00:08:28Look, my Christmas Pinterest board
00:08:32Wow, you are really going for it
00:08:35Yeah, I have to
00:08:36It's necessary for my to-do list
00:08:38Which I just sent to you along with our itinerary
00:08:43I've been working so much I'm a little behind
00:08:46Well, a lot behind
00:08:47Well, good thing I'm here to help
00:08:49Oh, yes, thank you
00:08:50You are going to love the Carters
00:08:52You'll meet them at brunch
00:08:53I just want everything to go well and everyone to get along
00:08:56Oh, it will
00:08:57We will
00:08:59Wrapping paper, ribbon, tape
00:09:01Wait, what are Christmas crackers?
00:09:04Are those like crackers with Santa's face on them?
00:09:06I don't actually know
00:09:07I was just told to get them
00:09:08Henry's mom said they're a must-have for a traditional English Christmas
00:09:12Then we must get them
00:09:14I figure in the morning we'll head to the market
00:09:16So you can see all the shops
00:09:17Then we can tag team the list
00:09:19Sounds like a plan
00:09:21Missed you
00:09:22I've missed you too
00:09:38So beautiful
00:09:39I know
00:09:41I have news
00:09:42Remember how I told you that I applied to the University of Indiana?
00:09:46Well, I finally heard back from them
00:09:48And I got in to their occupational therapy program with a scholarship
00:09:52Stop it, for real?
00:09:53Mm-hmm
00:09:54I bet dad's buzzing, I'm so proud of you
00:09:57Actually, I haven't told him yet
00:09:59Why not?
00:10:00I thought Indiana was your first choice
00:10:02For my master's programs, it is
00:10:04I just, I need to make sure that that's still what I want
00:10:07And dad would be crushed if he knew that I got in and I wasn't going
00:10:11Well, why wouldn't you go?
00:10:12Well, a few weeks ago
00:10:15My principal nominated me for this other program called State Abroad
00:10:18And it's kind of a big deal
00:10:20She can only nominate one person a year
00:10:22And I'm waiting to hear if I got accepted
00:10:24But what about your scholarship?
00:10:26Well, if I got in to State Abroad
00:10:27I would literally be paid to travel the world and teach special education
00:10:31Isn't that what you do now?
00:10:33Except for the traveling the world part
00:10:36That does sound really cool
00:10:38But we both know you're going to wind up at Indiana
00:10:40You always make the reliable and responsible choice
00:10:45I haven't always had the choice not to
00:11:00Graham's a boy fan, aren't we?
00:11:03Yeah, he's like my favorite player
00:11:05Mine too
00:11:06Can you keep a secret?
00:11:08He's my eldest
00:11:10No way
00:11:11Oh, way
00:11:12I tell you what
00:11:13You get that jumper
00:11:15And I'll throw in a newborn Santa hat as a gift
00:11:19Are you sure?
00:11:20Oh, yes, I'm sure, my dear
00:11:21My store, my rules
00:11:23That's awesome
00:11:24But wait a minute
00:11:25How do I know that you're actually his mom?
00:11:27Please don't do it
00:11:29Please
00:11:30Graham!
00:11:34How's work going, by the way?
00:11:37You museum curator yet?
00:11:39Not even close
00:11:41Well, everything takes time
00:11:43And look at what you have accomplished
00:11:45You work at the Museum of Britain
00:11:47It's what you moved to London for in the first place
00:11:49Yeah, I know, it's true
00:11:51I'm learning so much
00:11:53And don't get me wrong
00:11:54My boss, Marnie, asks a lot of me
00:11:56But in a good way
00:11:58She wants me to succeed
00:11:59And she trusts me to
00:12:02Well, don't let this go to your head
00:12:04But I'm very proud of you
00:12:06Really?
00:12:08Yeah
00:12:09Thanks, Sissy
00:12:15This would look better on you
00:12:20Hiya
00:12:21Oh, do you like my actual hero?
00:12:23Oh, so nice, thank you
00:12:24Let's take a photo
00:12:25Here, give me your phone
00:12:26Come on, I'll do it
00:12:28All right, now
00:12:30Big smiles
00:12:31Lovely
00:12:33Oh, my dear
00:12:34Oh, you're going to love it
00:12:36Now, don't forget

00:12:39Mum

00:12:42Thank you so, so much

00:13:19I have to head into work
00:13:21I'm sorry
00:13:23Aren't you supposed to be off this week?
00:13:25Marnie uses that phrase liberally
00:13:27Well, is there anything I can do to help?
00:13:29Thank you, but no
00:13:31Why don't you go and explore
00:13:33And I'll meet you back at the flat in a few hours
00:13:35Of course
00:13:37Go, I'll see you soon
00:13:45It's lovely, isn't it?
00:13:47It reminds me of one that my mum used to have
00:13:51We lost it in a move years ago
00:13:53I never thought I'd see one like it again
00:13:57This artist had a very unique style

00:15:17Can I at least help you get cleaned up?
00:15:19Offer you a towel or something
00:15:21I live nearby, well, my parents do
00:15:25How far away exactly?
00:15:27Five minute walk, that's why I don't bite
00:15:29And I'm genuinely very sorry for the spill
00:15:35Sure
00:15:39I'm Georgia, by the way
00:15:43Usually this is the part where you respond with your name
00:15:45That's funny
00:15:47What's funny?
00:15:49You're serious?
00:15:51What do you want me to guess?

00:15:59Like the cracker
00:16:01So, what brings you to Notting Hill?

00:16:11Come on
00:16:25Right this way
00:16:31So what happened to your leg?
00:16:33My leg?
00:16:35I noticed you limping back there
00:16:37I tore my ACL
00:16:39Playing football
00:16:41Or, as you Americans
00:16:43Incorrectly like to say, soccer
00:16:45You play?
00:16:47Not at the moment
00:16:49I tore my ACL playing soccer
00:16:51Back in high school
00:16:53I miss it though
00:16:55You know, I used to dream about having a jersey
00:16:57With my name on it
00:16:59Oh well
00:17:01Perhaps you and I should play sometime
00:17:05Football, that is
00:17:07I wish
00:17:09The itinerary my sister gave me
00:17:11Pretty much has me booked through the new year
00:17:13Right
00:17:15Also, your knee
00:17:17Right
00:17:23I forgot
00:17:25I have an appointment

00:19:49So Georgia, tell us all about yourself
00:19:51Favourite hobbies?
00:19:53Favourite Christmas traditions?
00:19:55Food allergies?
00:19:57Mum
00:19:59What?
00:20:01She's Lizzie's sister, I want to get to know her
00:20:03And so should you
00:20:05Are you single?
00:20:07Very, very
00:20:09And my hobbies are pretty slim at the moment
00:20:11I could work on that
00:20:13Teaching's my life
00:20:15I think being a woman is a passionate one
00:20:17But usually he's not coming
00:20:19Hiya
00:20:21Wait
00:20:23You bet on my firstborn
00:20:25not attending family brunch
00:20:27I make my money when I can
00:20:29Thank you
00:20:31Unbelievable
00:20:33Do you remember when I bet Henry?
00:20:35And you bet me
00:20:37But it worked
00:20:39Thankfully, yes
00:20:41I embarrassed myself so badly that day
00:20:43Why did I?
00:20:45I'm sure Lizzie's told you
00:20:47But I was the former Egyptian antiquities curator at the museum
00:20:49And when Lizzie was interning
00:20:51I thought it might be fun to set these two up
00:20:55He bet both of us to talk to the other
00:20:57But he left out the fact that he knew who each of us were
00:21:01Archie also recommended me for my current job
00:21:03So I basically have him to thank for everything
00:21:07So now I'm retired
00:21:09I live vicariously
00:21:11Hmm
00:21:19Henry's family seems to love you
00:21:21I didn't realize how close you were
00:21:23How come I don't know more about them?
00:21:25You know about them
00:21:27Well, not like they know about you
00:21:29You will
00:21:31Trust me, you'll love them by the end of the trip
00:21:35Hey, honey
00:21:37I'm so sorry I couldn't make it over with your sister
00:21:39But work's been nuts
00:21:41Hi, dad
00:21:43Oh, hey, good, you're both there
00:21:45I got a very important question for you guys
00:21:47Just hold on
00:21:49Dad?
00:21:53I thought we said no Hawaiian shirts this year
00:21:55Did we? I don't remember
00:21:57So, which should I choose?
00:21:59Neither
00:22:01Okay, I'll bring both
00:22:03And your mom's stocking
00:22:05Okay? I love you
00:22:07Hmm
00:22:13You think dad will like him?
00:22:15Since when do you care
00:22:17If dad likes one of your boyfriends?
00:22:19I've always cared
00:22:21I don't seem to recall you caring
00:22:23When he highly disapproved of Tristan
00:22:25Or Jess
00:22:27Or Dean
00:22:29Okay, point taken
00:22:31I don't know
00:22:33This one, he's different
00:22:35I haven't seen you this smitten
00:22:37Since you were 15 and in love with Ryan Reynolds
00:22:39I swore I was gonna marry him someday
00:22:41Too bad that Blake beat you to the punch
00:22:49You know how dad
00:22:51Describes seeing mom for the first time?
00:22:53The Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Bloomington
00:22:55Their freshman year?
00:22:57The canopy of Christmas lights illuminated her like a halo
00:22:59And he knew she was the one
00:23:01It feels like that with Henry
00:23:03I'd do anything to ask mom
00:23:05What that moment was like for her
00:23:09You're lucky
00:23:11How do you figure?
00:23:13You got more time with her
00:23:17Did you do that?
00:23:19You? No
00:23:21Oh, we have to
00:23:23Ooh, the David Archuleta version
00:23:25Okay, microphone
00:23:27Happy holidays
00:23:29Happy holidays
00:23:31Ooh, yeah
00:23:35We've been waiting
00:23:37All year for this night
00:23:41The snow is glistening
00:23:43On the trees outside
00:23:45All the stockings are hung
00:23:47By the fireside
00:23:51Waiting for Santa to arrive
00:23:55Merry Christmas
00:23:57Merry Christmas
00:23:59Merry Christmas
00:24:01Merry Christmas
00:24:03Happy holidays
00:24:13Where's Lizzie today?
00:24:15Shopping and sightseeing with her sister
00:24:17Thanks for coming
00:24:19You're welcome
00:24:21How about this one?
00:24:23It's alright
00:24:25It's okay
00:24:51I usually am
00:24:56That's it
00:25:00That's the one
00:25:09Have you seen my badge?
00:25:11I'm so sorry, but I have to go into work again
00:25:13I saw it on the coat rack
00:25:15Aw, you're the best
00:25:19Also, I need a favour
00:25:21We're running out of time
00:25:23And there's still a few things to pick up from the to-do list
00:25:25Would you mind getting the Christmas crackers and whatever else is left?
00:25:27Yeah, don't worry, I'll take care of it
00:25:29Thank you
00:25:31I won't be too long
00:25:33Also, don't forget, we have the panto this afternoon
00:25:35Bye
00:25:37The what?
00:25:43Thanks for this, Graham
00:25:45Do you mind keeping this safe?
00:25:47Oh, yeah, I'm sure
00:25:50Right, Spencer
00:25:52You're lucky it's Christmas and people are cheerful
00:25:54Rearrange your Guardian interview to 1.30
00:25:56Graham
00:25:58Glad you're spending time with family
00:26:20Excuse me
00:26:22Georgia, right?
00:26:24Yes
00:26:26Graham, like the cracker
00:26:28Hi
00:26:30Are you busy right now?
00:26:32I could, uh, buy you another cup of hot chocolate
00:26:34Are you still trying to make up for that ornament?
00:26:36You caught me
00:26:38Well, thank you so much for the offer, but I was just about to head out
00:26:40Oh, no, not like that, please
00:26:42Please, take a seat
00:26:44Thank you
00:26:46Oh, no, not like that, please
00:26:48Please, take a seat
00:26:50I have firm instructions to pick up these
00:26:52special British crackers with Santa's face on them
00:26:54for my sister
00:26:56Christmas crackers?
00:26:58Yes
00:27:00I almost hate to break it to you, but
00:27:02Christmas crackers are not crackers with Santa's face on them
00:27:04They're party poppers
00:27:06Party poppers?
00:27:08It's a noisy explosive tube filled with a tissue paper hat,
00:27:10a small toy, and a bad joke
00:27:12It's a Christmas staple in the UK
00:27:14Do you know where I can get said
00:27:16party poppers?
00:27:18I know just the place. Come on
00:27:20Oh, you don't have to do that
00:27:22I'm heading that way anyway
00:27:24Oh
00:27:36Excuse me
00:27:40I believe
00:27:42it's yours
00:27:46Thank you
00:27:48I don't know what I would have done if I had lost this
00:27:50Thank you, seriously
00:27:52Happy Christmas
00:27:56The way the girls
00:27:58look at you, it's like you put them in some sort of trance
00:28:00And it was not just the barista
00:28:02Other people were staring, too
00:28:04I just
00:28:06have that effect on people
00:28:08Oh
00:28:14So
00:28:16Who's the jewelry for? Your girlfriend?
00:28:18No
00:28:20It's actually for my brother to give to his soon-to-be fiancée
00:28:22Plot twist
00:28:24Which I now realize
00:28:26I wasn't supposed to tell anyone
00:28:28So maybe just keep that to yourself
00:28:30Who am I going to tell?
00:28:32I don't know your brother or his girlfriend
00:28:34No new boys
00:28:36What does
00:28:38go newborn mean?
00:28:40It's a football chant
00:28:42The morale around here is very community-driven
00:28:44So what do you do back home?
00:28:46I'm a special education teacher
00:28:48What's that like?
00:28:50Humbling, stimulating
00:28:52all-consuming
00:28:54I love it, and I adore my kids
00:28:56My mom's also a teacher, so
00:28:58I'm following in her footsteps, carrying on the tradition
00:29:00Sounds
00:29:02fulfilling
00:29:04Can I ask you a question?
00:29:06Is it a trick question?
00:29:08No
00:29:10I'm just curious, since you're more or less
00:29:12a complete stranger
00:29:14Given the opportunity to do something
00:29:16great, but predictable
00:29:18or risky, but potentially
00:29:20life-changing, what would you do?
00:29:22You sure this isn't a trick question?
00:29:26I don't know why I asked you that, I'm sorry
00:29:28I'm kind of at a crossroads in my life
00:29:30and I'm trying to figure out what to do next
00:29:32I've just always done
00:29:34what's expected of me, and
00:29:36I don't know if that's because it's what I actually
00:29:38want to do, or if I'm just
00:29:40scared to do anything else
00:29:44And that probably makes no sense to you
00:29:46No
00:29:48It actually makes a lot of sense
00:29:50I'm at a bit of a crossroads
00:29:52in my life, too
00:29:54Um
00:29:56I think some random dude is following us
00:29:58He's following us
00:30:00I'll take care of it
00:30:06You need to leave?
00:30:08Yeah, no worries, mate
00:30:12You won't bother us again
00:30:18Thank you
00:30:22So, any other siblings?
00:30:24Uh, just my younger brother
00:30:26Oh, so we're both the older
00:30:28and wiser ones
00:30:30I don't know about that, my brother seems
00:30:32to have it all figured out, whereas I
00:30:34don't
00:30:36Sounds like my sister and I
00:30:38So what do you do for work?
00:30:40Uh
00:30:42Oh, excuse me
00:30:44One second
00:30:46Hi, you okay?
00:30:48I'm still stuck at work, so Henry's
00:30:50going to pick you up for the pantomime
00:30:52It's a British tradition, you'll love it
00:30:54Okay, sounds good
00:30:56I'll see you then
00:30:58I love you, Frame Savoy
00:31:02Who are you?
00:31:16Georgia
00:31:18Wait
00:31:20I don't get it
00:31:22Why me?
00:31:24Technically, I didn't lie to you
00:31:26I just omitted my career
00:31:28I didn't tell you who I was
00:31:30because everybody always knows who I am
00:31:32You didn't seem to know
00:31:34and I wanted to see what that felt like
00:31:36I never get to be just Graham
00:31:38I always have to be Graham Savoy
00:31:40It's exhausting having to be on all the time
00:31:42especially now since my knee hates me
00:31:44and I'm dealing with that pressure
00:31:46You have no idea what it's like to have people
00:31:48wanting things from you all the time
00:31:50pressure and issues
00:31:52Yours might be under a bigger microscope
00:31:54but you're not the only person who feels like
00:31:56they have to put up a wall to protect themselves
00:32:00I hadn't thought about it like that
00:32:06Keep up the good work
00:32:08Can you sell my beach, please?
00:32:10Sure thing. What's your name, sweetheart?
00:32:12Leah
00:32:14Like Leah Williamson
00:32:16Captain of the Lionesses
00:32:19Happy Christmas, Leah
00:32:24Mr. Savoy, thank you so much
00:32:26Happy Christmas to you
00:32:28Merry Christmas
00:32:32I have to go
00:32:34Thank you for your help
00:32:38And it was nice meeting you
00:32:40Likewise
00:32:44Good luck with everything
00:32:46You too
00:32:48Goodbye, Graham
00:32:50Goodbye, Georgia
00:33:10So, this pantomime we're going to
00:33:12is a Carter family tradition?
00:33:14Yeah, it's this show that families
00:33:16attend at Christmas, but this year's a bit more special
00:33:18My cousin Howard, you met him
00:33:20at brunch. He's making his debut
00:33:22as the Dane
00:33:24The Dane?
00:33:26Oh, right. It's... Imagine if
00:33:28the Rocky Horror Picture Show
00:33:30had a baby with a Disney movie
00:33:32and half the cast was dressed in drag
00:33:34Fantastic
00:33:36That's brilliant. It's a total blast
00:33:38I can't wait
00:33:40So, did Lizzie tell you we were picking
00:33:42Santa after the show?
00:33:44She didn't
00:33:46My advice is get in and get out. Mum takes it way too seriously
00:33:48And, redraw if you pull Aunt Serena
00:33:50Just trust me
00:33:52You'll be noted
00:33:56So, you and my sister are pretty serious?
00:33:58Yeah, I'd say so
00:34:02Why? Did she say something?
00:34:04Relax, Henry. Nothing to worry about
00:34:06So, tell me
00:34:08What's your deepest, darkest secret?
00:34:12You're joking?
00:34:14Well, uh
00:34:16for the record, I'm terrified
00:34:18of marshmallows
00:34:20They look too much like the mixture in mine
00:34:22Really?
00:34:24Oh, you're joking
00:34:26Touche
00:34:28Yeah
00:34:32Hi, everyone
00:34:34I'm so sorry I'm late
00:34:36Here they are
00:34:38OK, come on. Let's go
00:34:42Come on
00:34:50Good morning
00:34:54Ladies and gentlemen
00:34:56Welcome to the show
00:35:00Jingle bells, jingle bells
00:35:02Jingle all the way
00:35:04Oh, what fun it is to ride
00:35:06On a one horse open sleigh
00:35:08Do you want to see some more?
00:35:12Woo
00:35:261, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
00:35:32Jingle bells, jingle bells
00:35:34Jingle all the way
00:35:36Oh, what fun it is to ride
00:35:38On a one horse open sleigh
00:35:40Oh, what fun it is to ride
00:35:42On a one horse open sleigh
00:35:48You were absolutely incredible, bravo
00:35:50I just need to borrow him
00:35:52Hey, Georgia
00:35:54Let me introduce you to my brother
00:35:56This is Lizzie's sister, Georgia
00:36:06Georgia, was it?
00:36:08Yes, yes
00:36:10Yes, Georgia is my name
00:36:12Right
00:36:14So glad you're finally meeting
00:36:16Great to see you, Graham
00:36:18You too, Lizzie
00:36:20Can you help me?
00:36:22I'm trying to flip the camera
00:36:24But it just won't work
00:36:26Yeah, I'm happy to
00:36:28You both love soccer
00:36:30Football
00:36:32Take that up with her
00:36:34Come on
00:36:36Out of all
00:36:38The professional soccer players in this country
00:36:40You had to be Henry's brother?
00:36:42Technically, he's my half-brother
00:36:44Same mum, different dad
00:36:46I'm familiar with the concepts
00:36:48Secret Santa, my dears
00:36:50Oh
00:36:56Archie, what are you doing?
00:36:58You know you have vertigo
00:37:00We make you a TikTok
00:37:02Wait, wait, wait
00:37:04Your brother
00:37:06Is my sister's boyfriend
00:37:08Which means
00:37:10We're all headed to the pub
00:37:12Are you good?
00:37:14Yeah
00:37:16Okay, let's go, guys
00:37:18Okay
00:37:32Well, this isn't awkward at all
00:37:34No, not at all
00:37:36So you're brother and my sister?
00:37:38Apparently
00:37:40Well, at least we can bond over the fact that our significantly younger siblings
00:37:42Are going to get married before we do
00:37:44Yeah
00:37:46Not me and you
00:37:48You know, me as an individual
00:37:50And you as an individual
00:37:52Right
00:37:54Thanks for clarifying
00:37:56In all seriousness, though
00:37:58I do like Lizzie for Henry
00:38:00They're really great together
00:38:02I've honestly never seen two people
00:38:04More compatible
00:38:06Really?
00:38:08It's hard to explain
00:38:10The more time you spend with them
00:38:12The more it makes sense
00:38:22If you don't get one now, you don't get one
00:38:24How come you didn't tell me
00:38:26Who Henry's brother is?
00:38:28What do you mean? I didn't
00:38:30You said that he played football professionally
00:38:32You didn't say he was, like, famous
00:38:34I don't know
00:38:36I guess I don't see him that way
00:38:38To me, he's always been
00:38:40Henry's older brother who comes around every so often
00:38:42And is always really nice to me
00:38:46Did Henry happen to mention anything to you
00:38:48About proposing?
00:38:50Oh, no
00:38:52No
00:38:54I feel like he's going to propose, but I don't know
00:38:56Does
00:39:00Does
00:39:02Who's about his next round?
00:39:04Georgia
00:39:06Uh
00:39:08Are you sure you're ready for that?
00:39:10Yes
00:39:12Well, it's a huge, lifelong decision
00:39:14You're very young
00:39:16This is your first serious relationship
00:39:18There's no reason to rush it
00:39:20I love him
00:39:22I love him
00:39:24Why didn't you tell me
00:39:26How serious you and Henry are?
00:39:36I figured
00:39:38By inviting you to spend Christmas with his family
00:39:40You'd get the hint
00:39:42Why aren't you being supportive?
00:39:44I'm being practical
00:39:48Good thing you're better at footy than y'all darts
00:39:52How long have you been dating? Eight months?
00:39:54I don't need your judgment
00:39:56I'm ready
00:39:58If you can't see that
00:40:00Then maybe you don't know me
00:40:02As well as I thought you did
00:40:06Maybe I don't
00:40:08Oh
00:40:14Um
00:40:20I'll be right back
00:40:22Yeah
00:40:24Yeah, me too
00:40:28Hey, you alright?
00:40:30Yeah
00:40:38Hey
00:40:46You alright?
00:40:50Yeah, I just needed some fresh air
00:40:52Tell you what
00:40:54I need some fresh air too
00:40:58Come sit with me
00:41:00Yeah
00:41:08It's true
00:41:10We really don't know each other like we used to
00:41:12And it's entirely my fault
00:41:14Hey, how can you say that?
00:41:16Because I'm the one who moved halfway across the world
00:41:20Hey
00:41:22It's just complicated between us
00:41:24After my mom passed away
00:41:26I helped my dad raise her
00:41:28I even went to community college
00:41:30So I could stay close by and help her through high school
00:41:34I know I'm overprotective
00:41:36But it just feels like it's my duty to take care of her
00:41:42We lost my dad when I was a boy
00:41:46It's
00:41:48Life changing
00:41:50Something's ingrained in us
00:41:52To keep their memory alive
00:41:54However we can
00:41:56Take care of their people
00:42:00I'm sorry about your mom
00:42:04I'm sorry about your dad
00:42:06How old were you?
00:42:08Ten
00:42:10It's a long time ago but
00:42:12It still hurts
00:42:14I know how you feel
00:42:18I just didn't realize how much I missed of her life
00:42:20And how much she missed of mine
00:42:22I get it
00:42:24You do?
00:42:26I can't remember the last time I spent longer
00:42:28Than a couple of hours at Christmas with my family
00:42:32Usually traveling or training
00:42:34Or prepping for our match on Boxing Day
00:42:36The only reason I'm
00:42:38Even able to be here tonight
00:42:40Is because I am injured
00:42:42Even now I still have to be at rehab
00:42:44Do extra media
00:42:46Yeah but you live in the same city
00:42:48My point is
00:42:50Just because we don't see the people we love
00:42:52As often as we like
00:42:54Doesn't mean we love them any less
00:43:04I should
00:43:06Probably go find Lizzie
00:43:08Yeah it's
00:43:10Probably best
00:43:22I didn't see anything
00:43:52That's inside out
00:43:54I know how to put on a duvet cover
00:43:56Okay
00:43:58But it's inside out
00:44:02Dad's landing in an hour
00:44:04Why don't I just go meet him
00:44:06Since you've not had breakfast yet
00:44:08Okay
00:44:12But
00:44:14Whatever this is between us
00:44:16We should figure it out
00:44:22My mates and I just started
00:44:24A non-profit footy club for underprivileged kids
00:44:26In the area and since I'll be here
00:44:28I'll be able to be a bit more hands on
00:44:30Which I'm excited about
00:44:32We're really wanting to provide an outlet for kids who might not otherwise have the access
00:44:34Ho ho ho
00:44:36Merry Christmas
00:44:38Just put the presents in the living room dad
00:44:40I think I might have overdone it
00:44:42Oh dad
00:44:44Roderick it's so good to see you
00:44:46Oh hello honey
00:44:48Welcome to my flat
00:44:50This is your room
00:44:52Okay
00:45:02Oh this is nice
00:45:04I'm so glad you're here
00:45:06I can't wait to show you
00:45:08Everything
00:45:10And for you to meet Henry and the Carters
00:45:12Also
00:45:14I thought
00:45:16Maybe I could swing you by the museum so you can see where I work
00:45:18I would love nothing more my little lizard
00:45:20I am so proud of you
00:45:22For following your dreams
00:45:24Who would have thought
00:45:26My kid working in the museum of Britain
00:45:28I know it's crazy right
00:45:30I brag about you all the time
00:45:32I wish your mom could be here
00:45:34To see all this
00:45:36Yeah me too
00:45:38Should we go and put her stocking up
00:45:40Oh
00:45:46Oh both my girls
00:45:48Together
00:45:50I miss this
00:45:52Oh
00:45:56You know I just need to lie down
00:45:58No dad you have to stay awake
00:46:00It's too early
00:46:02I don't know what time it is
00:46:04And I don't care
00:46:06Well just in case you don't reappear again today
00:46:08Tomorrow morning
00:46:10Henry's mom Lynn has invited us
00:46:12To a traditional Christmas bake
00:46:14Oh okay
00:46:16Why don't you guys go
00:46:18And then when you come back
00:46:20I will be rested and ready for sightseeing
00:46:22Goodnight girls
00:46:24So
00:46:38I'm sorry
00:46:40No I'm sorry
00:46:42I just feel like I've missed so much of your life
00:46:44Since you moved and
00:46:46It took me by surprise
00:46:48We used to be so close
00:46:50We still are aren't we
00:46:52I had no idea how close you were
00:46:54To Henry's family
00:46:56And when I heard that you were ready to get married I panicked
00:46:58How could I not know
00:47:00That my baby sister is ready to get married
00:47:02Well to be fair
00:47:04I didn't exactly give you a heads up
00:47:06Why
00:47:08I was worried what you'd think
00:47:10You're my favorite person in the world
00:47:12You practically raised me
00:47:14And I
00:47:16Trust you and
00:47:18Valued your opinions more than anybody
00:47:20I was scared
00:47:22I thought
00:47:24You'd be more likely to approve
00:47:26If you saw us together first
00:47:28The only thing I care about is that you're happy
00:47:30And that he treats you well
00:47:32And that he knows that
00:47:34I'm your favorite person in the world
00:47:40Well
00:47:42I don't even know
00:47:44If he's going to propose this year anyway
00:47:46One second I have no doubt that he's going to
00:47:48And then the next
00:47:50I feel like there's no way
00:47:52I don't know
00:47:54Maybe he's not ready
00:47:56Maybe I'm not
00:47:58Don't overthink it, come here
00:48:02I am sorry for being distant
00:48:04Literally
00:48:06And metaphorically
00:48:08There's no need to apologize for living your best life
00:48:10I'm happy for you
00:48:12We're just going to have to work a little harder
00:48:14On staying in touch, that's all
00:48:16Actually if you're going to be traveling the globe
00:48:18That's
00:48:20TBD
00:48:24I think you should do it
00:48:26I added something to your pros list
00:48:28I saw it on the chair
00:48:34Once in a lifetime experience
00:48:38Indiana will always be there for you
00:48:40And if there's anybody who deserves a once in a lifetime opportunity
00:48:42It's you
00:48:46So if I get in
00:48:48And that's a big if
00:48:50You think I should do it?
00:48:52Yeah
00:49:02Morning
00:49:04How are we doing today, Graham?
00:49:06Well
00:49:10I'd be a lot better if I was out playing with the team
00:49:12You're definitely healing slower than last time
00:49:14Which is to be expected
00:49:16I would have liked to see you a little further on in your recovery by now
00:49:20When do you think I can be back?
00:49:22When that stops bothering you
00:49:24Give it to me straight
00:49:28At least
00:49:30Eight more months
00:49:32August, no
00:49:34That's already the start of next season
00:49:36I can't clear you unless it's safe for you to play, Graham
00:49:38Look
00:49:40I'm not saying it won't be earlier
00:49:42It's just what my gut is telling me
00:49:52Going for the festive team?
00:49:54Well if not now, when?
00:49:56Look
00:49:58Take a beat and enjoy your holiday
00:50:02Perhaps it'll give you some clarity
00:50:04Thank you, Dr. Parker
00:50:10Now, go ahead and crack those eggs
00:50:12Oh, no
00:50:14Just the yolks, dear
00:50:16That's what makes the custard so nice and thick
00:50:18And Georgia
00:50:20Why don't you go and melt us some butter?
00:50:22Ah
00:50:24I have baked before, I swear
00:50:26Let me help you
00:50:28Now, the trick is you want to start with cold eggs
00:50:30Okay
00:50:32It helps with the separation
00:50:34And then
00:50:36Crack it carefully
00:50:38The egg whites
00:50:40Like so
00:50:42So clever
00:50:44And then, pop the yolk into a bowl
00:50:46Oh, fetch me an empty bowl, please
00:50:48Thank you
00:50:50Voila
00:50:52Now, why don't you have a go
00:50:54Okay
00:51:02Yes
00:51:04Like that
00:51:06Delicious
00:51:12Delicious
00:51:14And there you have it
00:51:16Traditional Christmas trifle
00:51:18And minced meat pies
00:51:20Oh, I almost forgot
00:51:24A silver coin?
00:51:26It's said that whoever finds the silver coin
00:51:28In their piece of Christmas pudding
00:51:30Will have good luck and wealth
00:51:32For the forthcoming year
00:51:34I like that tradition
00:51:36Apparently it dates back to the 13th century
00:51:40How's your father adjusting to the time difference?
00:51:42He's still sleeping
00:51:44Oh, good
00:51:46Proper sleep is just what he needs
00:51:50Oh, this is so much fun
00:51:54Now, don't tell the boys
00:51:56But I've always wanted girls
00:52:04I got into set abroad
00:52:08I guess I have a decision to make
00:52:10Oh, well done
00:52:12Well done
00:52:26Early Christmas present, girls
00:52:28Oh, dad
00:52:30You didn't leave any for the other tourists
00:52:32You snooze, you lose
00:52:54I've always wanted to do this
00:52:56Come on, girls, keep up
00:52:58Make sure you get my good side
00:53:02Make it a little circus, look
00:53:10We can have afternoon tea
00:53:12Merry Christmas
00:53:22Thank you, lockdown
00:53:32Hi, I'm here
00:53:34What's the emergency?
00:53:38Well, you told me to get him here
00:53:42Your mother just wants a word
00:53:48How was your appointment
00:53:50With Dr. Parker this morning?
00:53:52How did you...
00:53:54Spencer
00:53:56You must stop calling him
00:53:58But you haven't been communicative
00:54:02What did she say?
00:54:04Nothing new
00:54:08Have you given any more thought
00:54:10To what you're going to do?
00:54:12I'm worried about you
00:54:14Your career
00:54:16Has been truly exceptional
00:54:18And we're so proud of you
00:54:20You know that
00:54:22But your personal life
00:54:24Has struggled
00:54:26You've given up so much life
00:54:28To be the footballer you are
00:54:30Maybe
00:54:32It's not such a bad idea
00:54:34To figure out
00:54:36What your next chapter looks like
00:54:38Maybe
00:54:40We just want you to be happy
00:54:44Your father would too
00:54:48I feel him when I play
00:54:50It's like
00:54:52He's there with me
00:54:54In the stands, cheering me on
00:54:56On the field
00:54:58I'm worried
00:55:00That when I stop playing
00:55:02I will lose my connection to him
00:55:04Football
00:55:06And newborn specifically
00:55:08Is the one thing we've always had
00:55:10Even after he was gone
00:55:12On the field or off
00:55:14He'll always be with you
00:55:18Do you remember this?
00:55:20Yeah
00:55:22I believe it was Christmas Eve
00:55:24It was absolutely freezing
00:55:26And I couldn't get you or your father to come inside
00:55:28Five more minutes
00:55:30Five more minutes
00:55:32It was never five minutes
00:55:34It was not
00:55:36I would do anything to have five more minutes with him
00:55:38I know sweetheart
00:55:40Oh, me too
00:55:44Time for happiness
00:55:46Is now
00:55:48Don't wait
00:55:52Oh, come on
00:55:54Come on
00:56:02Are you sure you don't want to come with?
00:56:04No, you guys go, bond
00:56:06Enjoy your first date with Henry and your father
00:56:08Dad?
00:56:10Don't be too hard on him
00:56:12No promises
00:56:14Okay, well, enjoy your first date with the spiciest chicken in all of London
00:56:16Fine
00:56:24Mmm
00:56:28I deserve a medal for that
00:56:34Hello?
00:56:36Hi, Georgia
00:56:38It's Graham
00:56:40Henry gave me your number
00:56:42Any chance you're available for a mini adventure?
00:56:44I'd like to show you something
00:56:48This is my favourite place in the world
00:56:50No peeking
00:57:00No way
00:57:04I...
00:57:06I can't believe you play here
00:57:08Sometimes I can't either
00:57:14You must have worked so hard for all of this
00:57:16You have no idea
00:57:18Tell me more
00:57:20I turned pro at 16
00:57:22But it's not always as glamorous as it seems
00:57:24I know I'm closer to the end of my career than the beginning
00:57:26But I don't know if I'm ready for that yet
00:57:28And the pressure to come back
00:57:30Is excruciating
00:57:32For myself
00:57:34The fans
00:57:36My dad
00:57:38It's his dream for me to win the Champions League
00:57:40And for me
00:57:42It's his dream for me
00:57:44It's his dream for me to win the Champions League
00:57:46With Newborn
00:57:48When he died
00:57:50His dream became mine
00:57:52What do you want?
00:57:54I don't want to retire
00:57:56I do want to go out on my interns
00:58:00It would be a shame
00:58:02I've never even seen you play
00:58:04I don't even know if you're good
00:58:08I'm good
00:58:10You can't be afraid of who you'll be
00:58:12If you don't come back
00:58:14But you also can't be afraid of who you'll be
00:58:16If you do
00:58:20So you're gonna show me your moves?
00:58:22For real?
00:58:24For real
00:58:26Okay
00:58:28Have you got a ball?
00:58:30Have you got a ball?
00:58:38You ready?
00:58:40Ready
00:58:50Georgia! Georgia! Georgia!

01:00:13Did you not get in I can make a call no I did which is fantastic obviously
01:00:19But I also got into another program
01:00:22It's called said abroad and I would be a traveling special education teacher. I get to work with kids from all over the world
01:00:35Dad you're not saying anything
01:00:40That sounds phenomenal
01:00:44You're not disappointed no, honey
01:00:46I want you to be happy and if this said abroad opportunity is gonna make you happy then you have to go
01:00:53The world is your oyster as they say
01:00:56Now, I don't know who they are
01:00:59But it's true
01:01:13Dad not yet. Oh, oh she warned you. Oh
01:01:22No
01:01:24Baking peanut butter Christmas cookies on the morning of Christmas Eve. It was always your mom's favorite
01:01:29We begged for a breakfast cookie. She'd say no in front of you and give us one when you left the room
01:01:35No, she was here. Oh
01:01:38She would be so proud of both of you. I know I am
01:01:43Oh dad
01:01:50Okay, I need to go and run these to Henry's parents house
01:01:54Dad, why don't you go and change before we head to the pub? I don't need to change. I

01:04:12Good luck
01:04:22I
01:04:23Have a very special crown for a very special girl
01:04:29That's so sweet. Hello

01:04:50Mm-hmm. Dad spent the whole flight watching Ted Lasso. I just wanted to make sure I was prepared
01:04:54Oh, that's exactly what it's like to play professional football. Your coach is an American football coach turned soccer coach
01:05:00football soccer coach
01:05:03No prior experience who bakes biscuits and makes motivational signs is heavy on the folksy charm and still doesn't know what offside is
01:05:11precisely
01:05:12Minus the mustache
01:05:13Michael I'm pretty quite peckish care to join me for a bite. I could eat. I'm starving

01:05:57So I asked is he sad for permission to marry her and well he
01:06:02he shook my hand pat me on the back and

01:10:41Is this why you're upset it's not a big deal
01:10:46I'm upset because I lost my great-grandmother's necklace that my mother passed down to me the Christmas before she died
01:10:53And because I foolishly fell for a famous soccer star who oh by the way has a brother who's about to get engaged to my
01:11:00sister
01:11:01This you and me was never gonna work. It was selfish and dumb
01:11:08And it was a huge mistake
01:11:13Oh my gosh
01:11:15It's not the pub. I had it at the pub. Can I at least take you go back to your mom's?
01:11:20I'm sorry, Georgia. Can I get a quick shot Graham? Cheers mate?

01:12:07I don't know what I'm doing with my life and I just made a really massive decision without really thinking it through
01:12:14Oh, you need a drink

01:14:00You're getting engaged in the morning
01:14:02What if we try?
01:14:04Eating or something and it doesn't work out. It's not like we can just never see each other again
01:14:12Yes
01:14:13What if it does?
01:14:15You can't be afraid of what could happen if it doesn't but you also can't be afraid of what could happen if it does or
01:14:23Something like that. Did you just quote me to me try not to let the fame go to you
01:14:32How about we start by finding a necklace no, it's not here I already asked Mary so let's just go you think this is how
