01:00 Bureaucrat, administrator, wizard.
01:17 Yuan Bo's siblings see only a diligent statesman.
01:21 If but they knew how deep the Jade Dragon's claws could cut.
01:25 A duty-bound diplomat with a dark side, if Yuan Bo appeals to you,
01:29 consider pre-ordering, dropping a like, or sharing your thoughts.
01:33 The Celestial Riverlands is the Jade Dragon's haunt in the Realms of Chaos
01:37 campaign, and in Immortal Empires, he starts in
01:39 the Aymira swamps but already owns Shang Wu.
01:44 In both campaigns, he'll begin by ridding the realm of orbs.
01:49 As a prominent leader of Grand Cathay, Yuan Bo is concerned with matters of
02:00 state and can affect instant change in his
02:02 armies and settlements. But a good leader looks outward too, and
02:06 trade deals with the Jade Dragon will reveal all regions owned by the trading
02:10 faction. Beyond day-to-day politics, Yuan Bo
02:13 looks to the Wuxian compass and, under his father's direction, plots to
02:17 unlock its true potential.
02:20 Using steel and stone tokens, Yuan Bo can enact various army,
02:24 hero, and settlement actions across the campaign map. These range from instantly
02:29 completing a turn of ongoing recruitment, to restoring campaign movement, to
02:33 resetting diplomatic relations, and many more. Tokens cannot be destroyed,
02:38 only transferred. For example, spent stone tokens undergo
02:42 a five-turn cooldown period before being returned as steel tokens.
02:46 Winning battles reduces the cooldown by one turn.
02:49 Additional tokens are earned by declaring fortress cities or commercial
02:53 districts. Here, Yuan Bo is heading for the Tower of
02:56 Ashir, but Shang Yang stands in his way. The AI is recruiting, so will send our
03:01 hero to damage their recruitment buildings.
03:03 Employing structured operation here guarantees a successful hero action
03:07 and sets us up for an easier attack.
03:11 Yuan Bo cannot abide the centers. The executioner will spill
03:18 Cathayan blood if needed.
03:21 Infantry beware the Jade Lion's breath. With two charges and significant damage,
03:31 this spell is as devastating as it is finite.
03:37 The Emperor's Executioner isn't merely Yuan Bo's title.
03:41 Twice per battle he can summon a Jade Sword to strike down enemy heroes and
03:45 lords.
03:48 With access to multiple laws including Yin, Yang,
03:53 Light, and Heaven, Yuan Bo is a savage fighter,
03:56 both as a human or a dragon, at range or up close.

04:04 Later, we've recouped our spent steel tokens as stone tokens and can perform
04:11 the commercial district action. This converts the tier 3 province capital
04:16 into a commercial district, which gains improved effects from
04:18 settlement buildings and all infrastructure and resource buildings.
04:22 What's more, we've now gained additional tokens added to our pool.
04:26 As part of Yuan Bo's faction mechanics, he reveals the region owned by trade
04:30 partners, allowing for more forward planning.
04:32 This further reveals neighboring factions who can also be traded with,
04:35 which in some cases creates cascading trade deals.
04:41 Coupled with the ivory road, which itself reveals further factions to trade with,
04:51 the Jade Dragon soon has an unparalleled lay of the land.
04:56 Agreeing to join distant wars, which you're unlikely to ever participate in,
05:00 to cinch a coveted trade deal with the Ice Queen is a diplomatic no-brainer.
05:06 Under secret orders from the Dragon Emperor, Yuan Bo has been tasked with
05:12 undertaking a portion of a grander plan centuries in the making. He must seek out
05:17 locations where the winds of magic gather and build astromantic relays to
05:21 extend the reach and power of the Jade Compass.
05:25 There are four locations Yuan Bo must gain control of, either through
05:28 diplomacy or force, and these change depending on your campaign type.
05:32 In Immortal Empires, you'll be assaulting Lizardmen major settlements.
05:35 In the Realms of Chaos, the locations are the Tower of Vashir,
05:41 Weijin,
05:45 Ashkilak,
05:53 and Dragonfang Mount.
05:56 Once captured, he must gather his strength whilst the relays are
06:00 constructed and survive an onslaught of Lizardmen
06:02 warriors, for Yuan Bo's actions work against the Old One's will.
06:08 Each new direction on the Compass offers powerful boons.
06:21 Nongjiang Basin provides additional growth based on your Cathayan-owned
06:25 provinces, as well as boons to buildings when
06:27 activated. Ashir awards additional winds of magic
06:31 power reserves for each Cathayan-owned army,
06:34 but has no active effect. Dragon River grants character immortality
06:38 and reduces attrition casualties, but has no reserve effect.
06:42 And Broken Lands increases the recruitment rank for each Cathayan-owned
06:46 region and buffs unit and character experience
06:49 when active.
06:52 Once each direction has been unlocked and held against an onslaught of
06:56 Lizardmen, the Jade Dragon must face one final
06:59 incursion. Lord Mazda Mundi confronts Grand Cathay's
07:03 perversion of the Great Clan himself.
07:06 It is here that Yuan Bo must prove he is worthy of his father's trust.
07:13 As leader of the Jade Court, Yuan Bo has access to the best soldiers,
07:20 constructs, and artillery Grand Cathay can offer, as well as new additions to the
07:25 Cathayan roster arriving in Shadows of Change.
07:30 The Onyx Cromen are more than Celestial Court spies.
07:37 Their wicked beaks, terrifying speed, and impressive numbers make them the perfect
07:41 choice to harass enemy backlines or run down routers.
07:47 Only the most powerful warriors of Grand Cathay's army rise to the rank of Grand
07:51 General of the Celestial Host. Gifted and skilled
07:55 fighters, these dragon-blooded generals are outfitted from the armories of Wei
07:58 Jin and lead their men from the front lines.
08:02 Jade and Jet Lions, deadly slabs of card rock wreak havoc in melee,
08:14 but are valued in Cathay for their magical properties.
08:17 Jet Lions will dampen the effects of magic, whilst their Jade counterparts
08:21 will boost sorcery and spellcasting.
08:25 In the traditions of Grand Cathay, a great war drum hangs above the gates of
08:31 every city, but when danger calls from afar, the
08:33 drum is carried to war to drive the beat of battle
08:36 into the dragon's loyal soldiers. From that rhythm,
08:40 Cathay finds its power and its victory.
08:46 Answering the drum's beat is three additional Cathayan regiments of renown;
08:51 the Grace of Khoi Yin, Empress Cromann, and the Jade War Drum.
08:57 [Music]
09:00 And that's it for the Jade Dragon and his bureaucratic intrigues.
09:25 Next up, the Hexings of Mabba Astankia. See the description below to pre-order,
09:30 like, or share your thoughts.
