00:00 We will talk to the driver of Cashless Toll Collection in the Toll Plaza, the spokesperson of the Toll Regulatory Board, Mr. Julius Corpus.
00:09 Sir Julius, good morning. May I have your line?
00:11 Good morning sir Ivan. To all our viewers and listeners, good morning.
00:22 Yes sir. Good morning. In the monitoring of TRB, are there any toll plazas that are having a queue now and where are they?
00:28 Sir Ivan, now is the usual peak hour travel of our motorists, what is called morning rush.
00:36 But we are happy that it is not a sudden rush when our motorists arrive now.
00:45 Maybe because the time is bad and some are not in the queue.
00:49 Our initial observation of our TRB teams deployed in all expressways especially in the toll plazas included in our dry run,
01:03 we have not had a long traffic in our participating toll plazas.
01:13 The comments we heard and saw, some have speakers but no load.
01:22 They are allowed to pay the cost and they are advised to reload first.
01:30 They will pass the next time so that other motorists will not be affected and they can enter and exit our participating toll plazas faster.
01:43 I guess that answers the concern of some of our speakers earlier.
01:49 What they're remembering is that they might be accompanied by motorists who don't have RFID or no load and will pass through cashless toll gates.
01:58 If that's the case, you mentioned that they can pay cash at least for today.
02:02 That's right sir Ivan. We will try to accommodate these motorists who are getting tired, especially since it's their first day of the dry run.
02:13 We hope that in the coming days, they will get used to it and they will try to get the benefit of having a proper load when they enter and exit our toll plazas.
02:30 Of course, we are calling on our motorists to put RFID or if they have RFID, make sure that there's a load.
02:38 But have you monitored the sensors of our toll ways if there's an improvement in their efficiency?
02:46 There are many complaints that the problem is that they can't read the RFID.
02:52 You're right sir Ivan. In fact, what we did, other than our continuous audit with our electronic systems,
03:06 we did a dry run to find out what needs to be fixed, replaced and improved.
03:16 If the total cashless is implemented again in all our expressways and toll plazas, we will not have the problems that you mentioned.
03:30 All right. The first day of September has started. How is the TRB preparing?
03:36 It's expected that the people who will go on vacation and pass through the expressways will be vaccinated in the coming months.
03:41 We have more inspection and monitoring teams that are being carried out.
03:48 Our coordination meetings also with the toll operators are more frequent now, particularly,
03:55 not only with the driver of our ECC system, but also with the increased vehicles due to the discussion of Vermont in 2023.
04:13 All right. Thank you very much. Thank you very much sir Julius Corpuz, spokesperson of the Toll Regulatory Board.
04:18 Thank you very much sir Ivan and to all our viewers and viewers of your program.
04:26 Good morning. Be careful on your journey. The weather is not good.
04:33 Thank you sir Julius.
