00:14 After the phreatic eruption, are there any new information that you observed in the Mayon Volcano?

00:24 So far, after that phreatic eruption, there were no more volcanic earthquakes.

00:31 This is for the fourth day now. Since February 1, we have no more volcanic earthquakes.

00:37 This is good because it means that no magma is rising.

00:41 Director, what is the reason for the phreatic eruption of a volcano?

00:46 Phreatic eruption happens when hot materials come into contact with water. It's like a pan with hot oil.

00:55 When it is poured with water, there will be steaming and a sudden burst.

01:07 It's not as violent as a phreatic eruption but it can still send ash and rocks into the air.

01:15 Did you observe any ashfall?

01:18 So far, we have not received any reports of volcanic ash reaching the barangays near the Mayon Volcano.

01:38 As I mentioned earlier, we have no volcanic earthquakes for several days now.
