00:38 This is the challenge of the Commission on Elections to the residents of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, or BARMM,
00:46 in the upcoming barangay and SK elections in October.
00:49 The first BSKE in the region should be peaceful and stable after the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law in 2019.
00:58 COMELEC said they believe that BARMM can avoid any election failure in the current election.
01:06 In the 2018 elections, there was no failure, 100% of the function.
01:10 According to the Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region,
01:14 81% of the areas of concern in BARMM are being targeted.
01:19 32 of the areas of concern are municipalities and cities that may be included in the category of red or grave security concern,
01:26 29 in the category of orange or immediate security concern, and 36 yellow or areas of concern.
01:33 PNP also admitted that the crime rate in the region has increased since the election.
01:38 But because the Philippine Army is their ally, they are confident that the peaceful vote will continue.
