00:00 Two more police officers from Metro Manila were arrested for positive drug testing.

00:09 Next, the police chief, Colonel Cesar Gerente, was arrested.

00:18 Two more police officers from Metro Manila were arrested for positive drug testing

00:22 after they were under the radar of the National Capital Region Police Office.

00:27 They were not yet identified, even if they were destined to be.

00:31 They will undergo the usual administrative proceedings.

00:35 They will have 15 days to challenge the result of the drug test.

00:39 And of course, they will be charged with pre-charge investigation first.

00:43 And then they will be subjected to summary hearing proceedings.

00:46 For now, the chief and the other two police officers are temporarily removed from their positions.

00:51 They will be assigned to the Regional Personal Holding and Accounting Unit in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig

00:56 while Gerente will be assigned to the office of the chief PNP.

01:01 While the result of the third drug test is waiting, the pre-charge investigation against them is already underway.

01:07 In total, 950 police officers from Metro Manila were arrested for drug testing this month.

01:14 It is very important that the workplace should be drug-free, particularly the PNP,

01:20 because we are the enforcers of the law, especially the position of Republic Act 9165.

01:27 It is very bad that our police are using drugs and are involved in drug trafficking.

01:35 Any police officer who is positive for drug testing is facing an administrative case of conduct unbecoming an officer,

01:43 which if proven, will be charged with dismissal from the service.
