00:16 I got a little bit of a gravelly voice after going to bed at 1am.
00:20 It was a pretty good idea to put on Saving Private Ryan when we got home from the game,

00:25 From one war movie to another, Nebraska football game.
00:31 Boy oh boy do we have a lot to get to.
00:37 But here's the top take here, okay?
00:40 I'm actually coming out optimistic, optimistic.
00:45 We said two things in the last podcast.
00:48 Number one, we said Jeff Sims was the highest turnover rate of any player in the FBS coming
00:56 out of Georgia Tech.
00:57 23 interceptions in 25 games, or it might have been 25 interceptions in 23 games.
01:04 He proved us absolutely right there.
01:06 He proved you right.
01:09 You picked out that little piece of wisdom there.
01:11 He proved Jay Stockwell, you were 1000% correct, unfortunately.
01:16 Where Jay was right, where Bob was wrong.
01:18 So Jay got it all correct.
01:19 No, I wasn't wrong.
01:20 I didn't have an opinion on it, but you were right about it.
01:25 And then I said, you know, Pro Football Focus didn't have any Nebraska players on any of
01:32 their preseason all-conference teams.
01:35 That's where I'm really optimistic.
01:37 I think you said it this morning over breakfast, Bob.
01:40 We're either a lot better than we thought, or Minnesota's a lot worse.
01:44 But the bottom line is, we've been getting gashed by Minnesota for the past decade, and
01:49 we stood toe-to-toe with those guys.
01:51 From a talent perspective, we were just as good.
01:55 This game should have been won.
01:56 What a terrible statement that is.

02:12 So here's the lineup today.
02:13 So we're going to do the Husker Max two-minute drill.
02:16 We're going to go over some of the stats, and then we're going to look at some of the
02:19 commentary.
02:20 My favorite thing to do as a Nebraska fan after the game is go to the Husker Max game
02:24 page, which is produced every week by a guy by the name of Joe Hudson in Colorado.
02:30 He does a great job, summarizes all the stats, and then gives you some commentary from all
02:35 the top writers.
02:36 So let's go through the stats real quick here, UB.
02:40 So rushing 181 to just 55 for Minnesota.
02:48 That's a big optimism point is our performance of our defense.
02:53 Total offense 295.
02:54 They had 251.
02:55 The story of the game was turnovers, obviously three interceptions and a fumble.
03:01 And again, the fumble, they were running the ball at the end, and they went after Anthony
03:05 Grant because they know he's got the fumble issues, but the guy punched the ball right
03:09 out.
03:10 So it was a good play.
03:12 It was a good play.
03:14 You got to give props for the dude.
03:17 That was a good play.
03:18 You know, well coached, smart, good football.
03:22 And yeah, unfortunately, it was a fumble that went against us.
03:24 He probably should have covered up a bit more, but he's trying to win the game.
03:29 But it was a good play from Minnesota.
03:32 And that's one thing that we also got right is we thought the Blackshirts would be a lot
03:38 tougher and I thought for most of the game, Nebraska was just way more physical than Minnesota,
03:46 which is great.
03:47 And it showed in the rushing yards.
03:48 They should have had 250 rushing yards.
03:51 So Jeff Sims was 11 of 19, only eight incompletions, but unfortunately three of those incompletions
03:58 were interceptions.
03:59 It's 14 of 19.
04:01 There were completions just to the wrong team.
04:04 Exactly.

04:06 So, but this is where I think Matt Ruhle and team are going to learn how to manage
04:10 this guy better.
04:11 You can't have him slinging the ball down the middle in traffic.

06:56 As we put a sit in our armchairs, we offer some suggestions.
06:59 Here's two number one before the half, take the points.

07:28 The replay showed that the nose tackle was offside.

07:33 But then they review it again to see whether they scored a touchdown and they didn't.
07:37 They had them on the one foot line.
07:39 So rather than put the ball there, they back them up.
07:41 It's like procedure penalties aren't judged post snap.
07:46 It's pre-snap.
07:47 So what the hell would the officials doing?
07:49 It's like either there was a penalty or there was not.
07:52 And it's like, I didn't cover it.

07:58 I should have covered the penalties in the, in the house for a minute.

08:09 And what was the defense and call a defensive penalty for apparently, I don't know, talking.

08:32 I was just like, we'll say, well, two called penalties against Minnesota.
08:37 If you look, there are several instances where the left tackle takes a bus before the rest
08:42 of the team gets moving, which is called the front start, which seemed to get glossed over.
08:46 I'm like, how could you not call this?
08:48 It's obvious from 50 rows back in the stands that this guy's moving before everybody else.
08:53 And you watch the tape and it's like, this guy's moving before everybody else.
08:55 How can you not call that?
08:57 And yet you call, you know, obnoxious interference or something like that.
09:01 It's like you call, you call my feelings were hurt penalty.
09:03 Like it's re I was, I was, I was stunned.
09:07 I mean, I know there's employment shortages across the U S but boy, everybody, if you
09:12 want a job where you don't have to be correct, most of the time, just go to official school.
09:16 And I'm not one to bang an official because I, I was one for a long time, but boy, that
09:21 was a shameful display from, from the officials.
09:25 It's just shameful.
09:26 Now, I just want to make a point about cultural.
09:29 First of all, we went to actually George and I walked over Bob and I, Bob and I, and George
09:33 walked over and watched the team get off the bus coach rule, just got off the bus.
09:37 Like a man on a mission just looked completely focused.
09:40 And I've loved every like minute of what he's done since he's gotten here.
09:46 But I, this game was winnable.
09:47 We should have won this game.
09:50 And we're Matt, you know, I love what you're doing, but we're paying you $93 million not
09:56 to put your quarterback in a bad situation.
09:59 Okay.
10:00 Take the points before the, before the half and don't be slinging the ball all over the
10:04 yard when you don't need to.
10:06 I mean, you've got the best, maybe one of the best running quarterbacks I've ever seen
10:10 and a whole bunch of running backs.
10:12 You just got to get them out in space and let them run.
10:14 You know, we're going to win a bunch of games.
10:17 They're going to figure out how to manage Jeff Sims and we're going to win a bunch of
10:20 games as a result.
10:22 Here to me is where the game turned.
10:25 Nebraska was up seven, three in the fourth quarter and they stopped Minnesota three and
10:32 out.
10:33 So they punted Nebraska gets the ball at about midfield and they throw a bomb on the first
10:41 pass.
10:42 And I, and I get it.
10:43 I threw that good call.
10:44 And then they threw two more passes.
10:45 I'm like, what are you doing?
10:46 You're running all over this team.
10:48 You're physically dominating this team.
10:50 And yet the coach has to be so clever that he's got to show all of his coaching acumen.
10:55 It's like run the stupid ball.
10:57 If I have one play and it works, I'm going to run that play again.
11:01 And if it works again, I'm going to run that play again.
11:04 I would run freaking off tackle student body, right?
11:07 Whatever.
11:08 Every single play, if it worked every single play, but they don't do that.
11:12 They get away from what works.
11:13 So I'm like, that's a coaching mistake.
11:15 And I don't blame Matt rule.
11:16 I blame the, the offensive coordinator.
11:19 It's like, what are you doing?
11:21 What are you doing?
11:22 Why are you having your running backs catch the ball parallels with the line of scrimmage
11:25 rather than moving towards the line of scrimmage?
11:27 It's like, I'm not even a coach.
11:31 The first touchdown was, was damn lucky.
11:33 That's what it was.
11:34 I mean, it was a great, it was a great call.
11:37 It would have been a touchdown had Sims caught the ball, but he actually fumbled and recovered
11:40 it and then threw a strike.
11:42 So it was, it was lucky and it caught the call.
11:46 It caused consternation with some of the Minnesota crowd, which we'll get to later under the
11:51 fan experience.
11:52 All the fan experience.
11:55 So anyway, I lost, I lost, I lost the con here.
11:59 What the hell were we talking about?
12:00 Oh, so, so then they do all this.
12:04 Minnesota comes back, they tie the game, they have the ball, they're marching downfield
12:10 and they start to throw the ball again.
12:12 It's like you have a kid who just won the state championship, who kicked the ball like
12:17 a country mile, you know, 50, 50 plus is not out of this kid's range and you run the ball
12:24 10 more yards and you're home.
12:25 You're done.
12:26 And what do you do?
12:27 You throw the ball and you don't only throw the ball, you throw a lofted pass up in the
12:33 air forever when you've locked onto a receiver rather than throwing out.
12:39 Minnesota showed you exactly how to do it.
12:40 You throw outs and you throw wheel routes from the background.
12:43 That's how you do it.
12:44 That's how you matriculate the ball down the field.
12:47 And I was like, what are you doing?
12:50 What are you, what are you doing?
12:52 The game was winnable.
12:54 So again, the optimism is there because of the physicality of the team, the talent of
12:58 the quarterback, the raw talent of this guy.
13:01 If they can just harness it and control it and not put him in a bad position, we're going
13:08 to win a bunch of games this year.
13:09 Oh, again, we're coming out of this one.
13:13 We're better than I thought we'd be.
13:14 I knew I predicted we were going to lose the game because I just think, I mean, PJ Plex
13:18 in his seventh year, Minnesota has been good, but they didn't, they didn't gash us like
13:22 they did for the last decade.
13:24 I told you they didn't have Mo.
13:26 Mo would have done some damage.
13:27 They didn't have Mo and he's gone and they're, they're going to be in for a tough slog this
13:33 year.
13:34 But on the good news side, defense was great.
13:37 Blackshirts came to play.
13:38 They really did a good job.
13:40 Could have been a little pass rush maybe, but the, you know, the, they really stepped
13:44 up.
13:45 Yeah.
13:46 The last drive, they gave up a touchdown, but that A penalty on the play and B what
13:52 an incredible catch.
13:53 It was like, if you lose to a play like that, how can you be upset?
13:57 That's like, holy cow, that's a once in a lifetime play.
14:00 And the guy happened to make it.
14:01 And so, and so good for him.
14:03 But the defense played great.
14:04 Special teams were awesome.
14:06 And special teams has been a big Achilles heel for the last few years.
14:10 So I look at it like, yeah, a lot of the things we thought about this team were true.
14:15 We thought it would be a ball control game.
14:16 We thought it would be, we thought the black shirts would come up physically.
14:19 They look much more dominant than they have in the past.
14:22 They just look like they weren't going to get pushed around in a way that they have
14:25 in the past.
14:26 So those are all really good things.
14:29 Just a frustrating ending for sure.
14:33 Mostly because I was the designated driver last night, so I couldn't drink at the game.
14:36 So I had to actually live with the real emotions of everything.
14:39 And that was very, that was very distressing.
14:42 Had you been drinking last night, the night would likely would have ended in a much worse
14:47 way.
14:48 Oh, I would have gotten a tap for Mrs. Frady at halftime.
14:50 Like, hey, time for you to go there, big guy.
14:52 I'm like, you know, so we brought our wives to the, okay.

14:59 So we brought our wives to the game last night and, and they're like, I've come to the conclusion
15:06 that this is why we've married the women that we have, Stockwell.
15:10 It's because they're like the nuclear fuel rods that go into the middle of the reaction
15:14 to calm everything down.
15:16 But then if you take those fuel rods away, all sorts of crazy shit happens.
15:20 You know, there might be, it's like all bets are off once they're gone.
15:25 And which is exactly what happened last night.
15:27 I guess they left at halftime because they had to go take care of stuff and you know,
15:31 all that good stuff.
15:32 And then once it dropped, I get it.
15:34 Halftime, they took off.

15:39 We needed, we needed those fuel rods at the second half and they weren't there to protect

17:06 like the panic button went off and he, and he turned into like some raving lunatic and
17:12 I'm like, dude, you're really drunk.

17:17 I've seen you mad like twice and this was almost the third time.

17:55 comes and almost gets in a fight and I'm the peacemaker and all that stuff.

18:18 in five years engineering and then something else.
18:22 Anyway, graduates, the 11th employee at Dropbox and retires at 29.

23:49 And then I heard the cop repeat that.

24:40 So I'm from Hardington, Nebraska, 1,584 people, right.
24:44 And pull in and this car, you know, this lot, we were at lot 58 C right behind Mary Uchi
24:52 or right next to Mary Uchi.
24:55 Anyway, this was space, space opened up right next to us and this guy's like, Oh, that's
24:59 a great spot.
25:00 I'm going to move my car here.
25:01 He gets out and turns out he's married to a girl that I grew up with, you know, a block
25:06 and a half away.
25:07 And her dad was the superintendent of, of our school.
25:11 So shout out to Teresa and Kim Flakus of Hardington who rolled in literally right next to us.
25:17 And the tailgating, I got to give Minnesota props here.
25:21 The tailgating was fantastic.
25:23 Everybody stopped by our tailgate was, was, was cool, including Chad Sime and the boys.
25:29 Yes.
25:30 Our number one fan, our first fan, literally the first fan, Chad.
25:37 He is el numero uno.

25:41 The number one fan man had brought his brothers and there were four or five of the guys and
25:45 they were all really cool.
25:47 And so they came by, we introduced them to the wives.
25:50 The girls, yeah, there they are.
25:52 They are the girls, uh, the girls that we brought our wives from around the corner and
25:56 that all of them were like, Whoa.
26:00 Yeah.
26:01 We've, we've seen our fans and we love them.
26:04 And during the game, during the game, some random guy came up and just punched me on
26:10 the shoulder and said, great job on the podcast.
26:11 So people are watching Bob.

26:15 I'm not sure how comfortable I am and I enjoy my anonymity.

26:31 Overall, the fan experience was overwhelmingly positive except for the little storm that
26:37 happened around, uh, uh, our chairs.
26:41 Other than that, the fans are fantastic.
26:42 They're not, they haven't sold out a game.
26:44 They sold out three games in like 30 years, so they don't know how to react and they knew
26:48 shoes for them.
26:49 I get it.
26:50 So overall, big thumbs up to the people of Minnesota.

26:54 Uh, except for the jerks, but we got the, but we got the kicked out.

27:12 So, so, so uncle Bob and, um, and Leslie were not feeling well earlier in the week, so they
27:17 weren't able to attend this, but on Wednesday we did a fundraiser for, um, Dean Kathy Farrell
27:24 at the Adana country club and we had my friend Andrew Bunderman speak.
27:28 Andrew, uh, is featured prominently in the movie, the outpost, and it was, um, he was
27:34 the commander of a troop of 53 guys in the cam dash, a valley, but the battle of cam
27:41 dash, the most decorated battle since world war two in 2009, uh, Jake Tapper wrote a book,
27:47 turned into a movie.
27:48 Uh, and he, he came and spoke and just did this unbelievable job and talked about like
27:54 he and his 53 guys were under attack 35 days in a row, 35 days.
28:01 So this was, this was during the phase of the war where they were doing counterinsurgency
28:04 and trying to like make friends with the Taliban and the people and trying to win over the
28:09 people.
28:10 And so he had them out in this really remote location.
28:13 Um, and in the, in the ultimate battle, the 400 guys attacked this group of 53, I think
28:22 eight were killed.
28:24 I think they killed over a hundred Taliban and ultimately won the battle, uh, primarily
28:29 through coordinate their support.
28:30 Um, but just, I think it's an all time top 10 war movie.
28:34 He spoke about it with, um, incredible passion and sensitivity.
28:40 Um, and, and the thing that was most, there was a good question.
28:45 Matt Marsh, a guy from Deloitte asked a really good question.
28:49 And his question was, you know, how did you feel about how we left Afghanistan?
28:54 And uh, and he said, well, and he, you could tell it really struck a chord with him.
28:59 Uh, he said, look, we were there from 2001 to basically 2022.
29:06 So an entire generation of women were allowed to go to school and go work and get jobs and
29:14 have some independence for the first time.
29:16 And literally in a moment that was all pulled out from under them.
29:20 And so we left a lot of blood on the ground there, 2500 lives, uh, lots of, uh, you know,
29:29 difficult injuries people are dealing with and we just left.
29:34 And uh, so that was a really, really interesting take that his, his, his biggest concern was
29:39 for the women of Afghanistan.
29:42 Um, I gave each of the attendees this challenge coin from the Nebraska ROTC unit, um, which
29:50 is, which is really cool.
29:51 It's normally reserved for, you know, VIPs and admirals.
29:54 But everyone that attended that one, and it was, it was just a great, um, great presentation.
30:00 Kathy Farrell.
30:01 I gotta say something.
30:02 I'm a big, I'm a big fan of educated women because if it wasn't for educated women, you
30:07 and I would probably be lying in the gutter somewhere, you know, with you drunk Minnesota
30:12 guys, guys, we'd be yelling at people to sit down during a football game.
30:19 Oh yeah.
30:20 By the way, if you, if you need to tell somebody down in front at a college football game,
30:24 it's time for you to give up your season tickets and to watch the game at home.
30:28 Don't go to the game.
30:30 Do not do it.
30:31 If as soon as you say down in front, as soon as the words leave your lips, you should be
30:34 like, I'm not going to renew next year.
30:37 No, no, can't do it.
30:38 Like if nobody goes to the game, nobody cares if anybody stands.
30:42 You don't want to go to season two.
30:44 If you bought Minnesota season tickets for four years, you'd be pissed too.
30:47 So I know that's a lot of, that's a money, a lot of money down the drain.
30:50 I saw the last national championship for Minnesota was 1960.
30:53 I'm like, I'm even old.
30:55 Wow.

30:57 That's older than I am.

30:59 It's like yeesh.

31:11 or college or even little league sporting event, don't go watch it on TV or have somebody

31:24 It's like the manager's coming out, he's taking your tickets, you're retiring, have a night,
31:29 here's a pocket watch, go watch on TV.
31:33 Otherwise shut your mouth.
31:34 Let me, let me just give you one story from Kathy's event.
31:38 So Kathy kind of finished the event.
31:41 And she's basically at the university.
31:44 They challenged the deans to raise money.
31:47 Kathy is the Dean of the Nebraska Business School, Nebraska School of Business.
31:54 The Hawks building she has is just unbelievable.
31:57 I think she has the best office I've ever seen.
31:59 It's got a patio that overlooks the stadium and she can throw, you know, tailgates and
32:04 stuff out there.
32:05 It's just really, really good.
32:06 And it also, it also overlooks our names.
32:10 She overlooks our names.
32:11 Yeah, that's right.
32:12 From the, from the Veterans Memorial, Bob and I donated the Veterans Memorial.
32:16 It's right across, the Veterans Memorial is right across the street from her office.
32:19 You can go outside and, "Hey, there's J.M.
32:22 Mouth."
32:23 Yeah, Military and Naval Science Building right there.
32:25 What?
32:26 So there was, so she, she told the story about how this really nice couple, I'm not going
32:31 to say their name because I'm not sure they would want us to, but Kathy was raising money
32:37 for six endowed chairs for $6 million.
32:41 And so they, they have been building a relationship with this couple.
32:45 She's a graduate of Nebraska.
32:46 Her husband's a graduate of Minnesota.
32:49 And they, they were like, they put a big ask on the table and asked for $2 billion.
32:55 And they said, they said, "We need some time to think about it."
32:58 They came back and they, they basically countered and said, "No, we'll give you a 2.5 million,
33:04 but we want to do 500 each on five endowed chairs and challenge people to match it."
33:11 So that really helped Kathy because she, then she could just go out and get the other 500
33:15 and get the endowed chair.
33:17 And that was able to give her six endowed chairs in just 18 months.
33:23 And then, but now they've continued and they're continuing that process.
33:27 She now has nine endowed chairs.
33:30 So two things that are-
33:31 Hold on.
33:32 If you get an endowed chair, can you name it?
33:34 Do you get to name the chair or is it just, you know, is it named-
33:38 Oh yeah.
33:39 This would be the Bob and Leslie Frady Endowed Teacher of Finance or Marketing or whatever.
33:45 Oh yeah.
33:46 But you know, we're going to have to have a more clever name than that.
33:51 Like the bend over endowed chair of economics.
33:53 It's like, I just try to reflect reality there, people.
33:59 Yeah.
34:00 The bend over endowed chair of trickle down economics.
34:03 I like that title.
34:05 Let me tell you the things that really impressed me about Kathy.
34:09 Number one, the fundraising, obviously.
34:11 She's an amazing, she just gets out and build relationships.
34:14 And let me tell you, these NU Foundation people, they work hard.
34:17 They got up at 2.30 in the morning, got on a 5.30 flight, had meetings before the event,
34:22 two hours of meetings, then afternoon meetings, and then a dinner.
34:24 They must've been exhausted by the time they got done with that day.
34:29 But we also, she has the, guess what, Bob, you weren't there.
34:33 Guess what Nebraska online MBA program is ranked?
34:37 I'll tell you, higher than our football team, but lower than our volleyball team and our
34:44 bowling team.
34:45 Okay.
34:46 So volleyball, bowling are both top five.
34:49 Football is probably in the 150s.
34:51 So I'm going to say about 90.
34:52 No, no, no.
34:54 We're actually have the number eight MBA program, online MBA program.
34:58 It's rated by the Princeton.
35:01 And then the other thing I like, remember when we were there, they talked about the
35:05 Center for Entrepreneurship.
35:08 That they, so some of the things they're doing, they have a student venture fund.
35:11 They've invested in six companies, which is just small investments, 25K, but that's created
35:17 50 jobs.
35:19 They're participating in venture competitions and accounting competitions.
35:23 They won a global accounting contest.
35:25 So these things didn't exist when I went through there.
35:29 And so there certainly wasn't an online program.
35:32 There wasn't a Center for Entrepreneurship.
35:33 So Kathy's being really, really creative in the age of technology and data and entrepreneurship.
35:42 So shout out to-

37:17 But I suppose everyone has their limitations.

39:39 And Dimo's a former player.
39:41 Dimo, when did you play?
39:43 Tell us give us the stats on your time at Nebraska as a football player.
39:47 1998 to 2002.
39:50 I got recruited by Coach Osborne in 97.
39:53 We all know what happened that year.
39:55 Huskers won their very last national championship.
39:58 Coach Osborne retired.
40:00 So my first year was under Frank Selich.
40:03 A lot of speculation, a lot of questions if Frank could do it.
40:07 But he went to a ball game every year.
40:09 We won the conference championship, went to the national championship.
40:13 Let's not talk about the results of that game.
40:16 We have a lot of success because Coach Osborne, he believed in Frank.
40:22 And I had a lot of success as a black shirt for three years, led the team in sacks during
40:26 my time there.
40:29 So what's your take on the game last night?
40:32 We've obviously just spent 40 minutes talking about it.
40:34 But we don't want to bias you in any way by telling you what we thought.
40:38 What was your take on the game?
40:41 You know, it hurts the most when you lose a game by field goal, right?
40:45 I mean, when it comes down to the end of the game.
40:49 But I would say I still have optimism.
40:52 When I look at those turnovers in the fourth quarter, the fumble, honestly, that's good
41:00 coaching by the defensive player.
41:02 He actually punched the ball out.
41:03 So as a defensive player, good play for him.
41:09 The interception, I just think that just comes with gaining that experience as a quarterback.
41:17 But second half, they came out with an edge, with a sense of urgency.
41:21 The first half, I felt like they were just playing the game.
41:26 There wasn't a chip on their shoulder the first half.
41:28 So if they could have had the same energy the whole game, it would have been a different
41:32 score.
41:33 But I'm feeling pretty optimistic.
41:35 I like what I see.

42:18 Well, it's not a question.
42:20 Why don't you tell us a little bit about teammates, what you're hoping to accomplish, what's the
42:23 good that you're doing to the world?
42:25 Yeah, so started by Tom Osborne and his wife, Nancy, 32 years ago, with a mission to inspire
42:31 students to reach their full potential through mentor.
42:35 It's a one to one school based mentoring program where volunteers from the community serve
42:40 third through 12th graders once a week at the school during the school day.
42:44 Started with 22 students.
42:46 And here we are serving ninety three hundred total over seven thousand students over the
42:53 last 32 years.
42:55 And the concept, if you think about the success that coach Osborne had on the field, he was
43:00 helping players to be winners on and off the field.
43:04 He saw a need for young people if they had a mentor, kind of like a coach, what it would
43:11 feel like to be a winner in the classroom so that they can go on to wonder life.
43:16 And we've been doing this for 32 years.
43:18 And our goal is to keep serving more twelve thousand, fifteen thousand.
43:22 We're in five states.
43:23 One day we want to be in 10 states.
43:25 We want to be in Minnesota.
43:26 We want to be in California.
43:28 So the momentum that coach Osborne, the opportunity that he has given me, we're just getting started.
43:37 So hold on.

45:00 He's the co-founder to to go recruit, to go fundraise together, to ride in his car or
45:08 for me to ride for him to find in my car.
45:12 I'm trying not to take it for granted.
45:14 It's easy to take it for granted, just like as a player.
45:16 I took for granted getting all of those free Adidas shoes, the free Adidas.
45:22 And like I took it for granted.
45:24 And then when it was over, I was wishing it'd be nice to have a big stake and to get some
45:30 free shoes.
45:31 So there are days when it's it just happens.
45:38 But I'm trying not to take it for granted because he's 86 years old.
45:42 There will be a day where I won't have that mentorship.
45:46 I won't have that legend to lean on.
45:49 So it's it's I'm very humble to say I'm to be in this role.
45:57 And I'm humbled to be able to work with someone who doesn't even see himself in the same light
46:03 that millions of people see him.
46:09 That's awesome.
46:10 So tell us about the gala.
46:14 Who's coming and when is it?
46:16 So we decided to take the year off this year.
46:21 Our special guest just had a baby.
46:24 It was going to be Serena.
46:26 Oh, OK.
46:28 Oh, yes, I know.
46:30 I know.
46:31 However, there was a contract in place.
46:34 And so our hope is to have her in twenty twenty four and then in twenty twenty five, Tom Brady.
46:42 If Serena is not available in twenty twenty four, it'll be Tom Brady.
46:46 So I'm giving you all the juicy right now in terms of the next two years.
46:53 Pretty much information that not a lot of people know.
46:56 But it's hopefully to encourage you and just to let others know, give it and just give

47:02 Not a lot of people will know either.

47:26 three things that.
47:29 Teammates mentors try to teach their kids.
47:33 You know, I say in terms of teaching commitment, being unconditional.
47:42 That's what we train our mentors.
47:43 We train to show up every single week.
47:47 We train them to be unconditional, to love them, to care for them, regardless of the
47:53 grades that they make, their background, where they come from.
47:57 And to be that listener, to be that additional caring adult, someone who is simply there
48:04 for them.
48:05 That's their purse.
48:06 Those are the three things that our mentors do.
48:09 Be tutors not to fix the kid.
48:11 There's nothing wrong with the students that are part of teammates.
48:14 Any student can be a part of teammates.
48:16 And I believe that every student in today's society is at risk because they're being influenced
48:23 by what they see, read and hear social media, tick tock, Snapchat.
48:28 And if we as adults don't step up and use our role to be role models, we're going to
48:34 have a generation of followers instead of leaders.
48:37 Well, Dimo, thank you so much.
48:41 You are our brother and you can count on Bob and I to be your supporter for years to come.
48:48 And you're a great friend to us.
48:49 And we sincerely appreciate what you're doing for those kids.
