00:25 Right, I'm Paul, otherwise known as MyDogsEyes. We're here at the Astoria and my wall that I've painted for the new street art festival in Portsmouth called Look Up Portsmouth.
00:36 We've got 100 artists painting right across the city with murals going out right the way starting today which is Tuesday and going all the way through the weekend with the majority of the artists arriving on Saturday and Sunday.
00:49 If you want to find out more you can visit our website which is lookupportsmouth.co.uk or search for Look Up Portsmouth on social media.
00:58 I'm so lucky, I've had the opportunity to choose some of my favourite artists from around the world to come and paint.
01:03 So over in Goldsmith Avenue we've got the Dutch group the London Police painting an incredible piece.
01:09 Five men working ten days on this piece, really really detailed.
01:12 Down on the old casino in Osborne Road we've got Phlem, another one of my favourites. I've just welcomed from Australia Hayley Welsh, she's coming down to paint over in Southsea.
01:21 We've got local artists like Fark and Sammo painting over in old Portsmouth. We've got M1 and Pogo.
01:28 Right up in the north of the city we've got Dutch artist Noll, really wonderfully bright colourful characters with big belly buttons, you'll love it, absolutely fantastic.
01:37 And there are local and emerging artists, too many for me to mention but they're all amazing so you've got to go and check them out.
01:45 Excellent, and finally talk us through what's going on in this particular picture.
01:50 Okay so the painting that I did for Look Up is one of my glassy reflective eyes that I'm known for but I wanted to really embed it into this place.
02:00 Portsmouth is such a vibrant city so I wanted to capture that with the background. So we've got colours that represent different elements of the city.
02:07 The purple that you recognise from the university, the blue from the football club, the yellow from our wonderful seafront that we've got along there.
02:13 And all splashed together in an exciting way, just like the city is kind of an exciting place.
02:19 We're painting on the side of a famous building that's been used for all sorts of things, cinemas and nightclubs, lots of you will know it under different names.
02:27 It's the Astoria now and it's often filled with young people having a fantastic time.
02:32 And I found some photographs on the Astoria Facebook page of the kids in there having a brilliant time.
02:38 And so I've taken those and hidden a nose in the reflection in the eye.
