00:00 First game of this offense was fun.
00:01 How do you feel about your control over it
00:03 and your ability to make checks and everything last year?
00:06 I thought we did a good job.
00:07 I thought we went out and executed
00:09 what we were supposed to do.
00:11 Scored a lot of points.
00:12 We were consistent.
00:14 We didn't make many mistakes.
00:16 We didn't beat ourselves.
00:17 So I thought it was a very clean game.
00:21 Obviously, 81 points isn't going to happen every week.
00:24 But you feel like this is a clear indication of what
00:26 your offense can be like and how explosive they can be?
00:30 Yeah, I think when we just do what we're supposed to do,
00:33 do what we're coached to do, go out and execute,
00:35 I think that's what we can do.
00:38 Obviously, situation changes and stuff like that.
00:41 But obviously, when you go out there and do your best
00:45 and play the best you can play, things like that can happen.
00:49 Well, on those two long runs by Bucky,
00:51 on that second one anyways, it looked
00:52 like you were the only one in position
00:53 that might be able to track him down.
00:55 What are your thoughts on the game he had and those two big
00:57 rounds and how that sets him up for the season?
00:59 Well, he plays really good.
01:00 He's a very good, consistent running back.
01:03 He's explosive.
01:04 He does stuff like that all the time.
01:07 Mainly on those two, I just wanted
01:09 to show that I was faster than he was
01:10 and get my GPS number higher so I can rub it in.
01:14 But he does a good job.
01:15 I mean, he's one of the best running backs in the country.
01:18 He proved it today.
01:19 And he's going to just continue to have a good year.
01:22 81 points is a modern era scoring record for this team,
01:25 is that something you take pride in doing today?
01:27 Yeah, I think that's special for this offense, for this group.
01:32 It means a lot to us.
01:32 And that's our goal each game.
01:35 It's definitely something that means a lot to us.
01:38 I think it was six total touchdowns between all
01:41 the running backs that played today.
01:42 How much pressure does that take off your shoulders
01:43 when you've got a running back group
01:44 and they can score at that level?
01:46 Yeah, I mean, they just weren't going down.
01:48 They were running to score.
01:50 They were running violently.
01:52 They did a really good job.
01:53 That room's going to be special.
01:56 Got to continue to get better so we can
02:01 continue to do things like that.
02:03 But overall, very pleased with that group
02:05 and thought they had a really good game.
02:07 First game, and obviously there's a lot more to be played.
02:09 But your thoughts on the offensive line and just the job
02:12 that they've done protecting you.
02:13 There's a lot of questions outside the program,
02:15 just how good they could be for you guys
02:17 with so many new starters.
02:18 Yeah, I mean, they did a great job tonight.
02:21 Kept the pocket clean, kept everybody
02:23 up and running.
02:25 We were able to run the ball, and that's always positive.
02:27 And then we did a good job in protections in the pass game.
02:31 And those guys, a lot of them have actually played a lot.
02:35 They're just starting to mesh together.
02:37 And I think the more we play, the better they're
02:39 going to get.
02:40 The wide receiver room seems a lot more stacked this year.
02:43 Do you feel more confident?
02:44 Or is it just kind of coming back next year from last year?
02:48 It's like, Franklin to you, is there just a confidence
02:52 or is there something extra with the players
02:54 this year that you've added?
02:55 Well, I think that's just another really solid group
02:57 that we have.
02:59 They're special.
02:59 They can make explosive plays.
03:02 Obviously, with Troy being the veteran guy who was here
03:05 last year, he does a lot for that room.
03:08 And he performed well tonight.
03:11 And so we count on him to do that.
03:12 And then the other guys around him,
03:15 Gary had a great game being his first game.
03:17 Trae, Sean, and Tez, they're just very consistent.
03:20 So those guys will continue to get better.
03:23 And then we'll have some guys step up
03:25 as the year goes on, I'm sure.
03:26 And then they do their job.
03:29 And they continue to impress and make big plays.
