00:05 to tell you about what kind of a football player the Ducks are getting.

00:14 That's right, Braden Platt's first highlight on his junior season highlights come out of
00:18 the backfield as Platt doubles as a running back for his high school for Yelm.
00:26 The Tornadoes, I want to say, is their mascot.
00:31 But man, what's there not to like about Platt on film?
00:35 I think you see an explosive guy, someone who plays with a mean streak that you want
00:41 in your linebacking core.
00:42 I mean, those back-to-back plays are just absolutely leveling, guys.
00:46 I like his lateral quickness here, just absolutely destroying the blockers in his path.
00:52 Granted, like I kind of mentioned, it is Washington, and more specifically in his area, I don't
00:57 think he's facing maybe the premier talent in the state on a week-to-week basis.
01:03 I think more of that talent's probably closer to the Seattle area, and that's not where
01:07 Yelm is.
01:09 But just ripped off a 70-yard touchdown run there, like it was absolutely nothing.
01:14 So you're getting, like I said with the track stuff, a premier athlete if you're Oregon
01:20 and you're wondering what you're getting here, and your newest commit linebacker, Brayden
01:24 Platt, he's listed at 6'2", 240 pounds.
01:29 And the center of gravity that he plays with, the explosiveness that he has, the short area
01:33 burst, the acceleration, let's just call it what it is, you guys.
01:38 There's not a lot of linebackers that are doing or can do what Brayden Platt does on
01:44 probably a weekly basis.
01:47 I think that he brings added value to this room, to this linebacker corps, for the Ducks
01:52 as someone who has experience playing running back.
01:56 Kind of like what we see with corners that play receiver and receivers that play corner,
02:01 you have some of that knowledge of the other positions, so you kind of know how it functions
02:04 a bit more.
02:05 You know what some of those tendencies are, and I think it's just going to make him a
02:08 more effective and more valuable defender for Oregon here in the 2024 class.
02:15 So just the way that he moves, I think is really what stands out to me.
02:19 It's crazy that we're watching this many offensive highlights for a linebacker that's going to
02:25 be going to Oregon for his college ball.
02:28 But I think that he honestly really kind of fits the mold of some of these other linebackers
02:35 that the Ducks have committed here in their 2024 class.
02:41 And if you don't know about Oregon's 2024 class, you already have a couple of other
02:44 linebackers committed in Long Beach Poly's Dylan Williams and Los Alamitos linebacker
02:52 Kamar Matuti.
02:54 Interesting side note about those two recruitments, they both came down to Oregon and Michigan
02:58 State, but the Ducks were able to win that head-to-head battle over the Spartans, which
03:03 really seems fitting seeing that the Ducks are going to be probably facing the Spartans
03:07 a bit more now that they're heading out to Big Ten country starting in the 2024 season.
