00:00 So back in 2017, Tata Motors launched the Nexon and with that they set a benchmark as
00:09 far as the safety features goes within the car segment.
00:13 However, within the years, the Nexon got a few updates such as the Dark Edition, the
00:17 Kaziranga Edition and you also saw the Jet Edition.
00:20 Well, this car also has electric that's called the Tata Nexon EV and the EV Max and what
00:26 you see over here, ladies and gentlemen, is the all new 2023 Tata Nexon.
00:30 So hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameet, let's quickly start this video and
00:34 I'll tell you everything you need to know about this SUV.
00:37 So now let's start talking about the front end and before that, let me tell you that
00:49 the Tata Nexon has completely changed as you can see over here, it's changed from the inside,
00:54 from the outside and lot of things has been added.
00:57 So talking about the front end, the very first thing you notice are these DRL set up.
01:01 Now let me just quickly show you a trick, so with the key when you lock and unlock the
01:05 car, so right now the car is unlocked, so when you lock it, you can see over here that
01:11 this DRL creates this illumination that looks really nice and when you unlock the car as
01:16 well, you can see over here that the same pattern follows and these welcome lights look
01:20 really fantastic, they are really nice, plus you get this piano black finish on the grille
01:26 that is actually going overall well with this car and over here what you see now the headlamp
01:30 design has moved to the bumper, the headlamp design, the Nexon used to come over here like
01:34 the regular headlights, but what you see over here is a bifunctional LED projector for the
01:39 high beam as well as the low beam and what you see over here may look like fog lights,
01:43 but these are cornering lights.
01:45 Over here you get a front parking camera, obviously now the Nexon gets a 360 degree
01:48 camera feature, so that's the front camera, you have some silver finishing on the scuff
01:53 plate over here and overall if you look at the front design, it is a lot more sportier
01:58 than the previous generation, plus you also have some vents over here that is for better
02:03 aerodynamics and if you move to the side now, you will notice that the alloy wheel has completely
02:09 changed, now you get these 16-inch alloy wheels and if you see the design of the alloy wheel,
02:13 it has completely changed, you get this aero kind of an alloy wheel that goes overall well
02:18 with the car, you get body cladding, again, body lines and creases run all the way from
02:22 the DRL to the body and ends at the taillight over here, well, not a lot of chrome is present
02:28 as you can see, again, piano black finishing, what I like and I mean, obviously people do
02:33 like chrome, but over here you will not get any chrome, you will get this silver roof
02:37 rail, I don't know if this is functional or no, but yeah, this is a dual tone version
02:43 and the roof is present in a black colour, overall the body, this is a new colour that
02:47 you see over here, this is called the fearless purple and there are six colour options, we
02:53 will discuss about that later, so you get a shark fin antenna, a black roof and at the
02:57 side, what you can see over here is, you get again a class leading ground clearance of
03:02 208mm, well, the previous generation Nexon had a ground clearance of 209mm, the ground
03:08 clearance has reduced by 1mm, I don't think that should make a huge difference, but yes,
03:13 you get a decent amount of ground clearance with this car, now the ORVMs that you see
03:17 over here, the ORVMs are finished in this piano black finish, again you get cameras
03:21 on either sides for the 360 degree camera feature, plus you get this integrated LED
03:27 light for the turn signal and if you close the look over here, you will get this badging
03:31 that says, celebrating 50 lakh cars, so yeah, this actually sums up the side profile and
03:38 now moving on to the rear section over here, so again, the rear section is completely new,
03:43 the car is completely new, front, side, back, inside, so starting off from the top, you
03:47 get this spoiler, looks fabulous, now the wiper, you might be noticing that there is
03:53 no wiper over here, but there is a wiper obviously that is neatly integrated underneath over
03:56 here, so you have a wiper along with a washer, you do not get a high stop tail light, but
04:01 yes, what you do get, like in the front, you have the welcome lights, again, let me show
04:05 it to you, so when you hit the lock or unlock button, you will notice that these, the tail
04:11 light, the connecting tail light gives you this effect, when you unlock it, you will
04:15 have the same thing, so yeah, that's a really really cool feature and obviously people put
04:19 these kind of things after market, so the company thought, why not give it with the
04:23 car and once again, you get defoggers, you get the starter logo again, you get a camera
04:26 over here, the camera quality is excellent, we will show it to you when we are inside
04:31 the car and what you see over here is the all new tail light design, now the tail light
04:37 design is a connected tail light design, as you can see over here, it's completely LED,
04:40 very sharp, you have this piano black finishing over here, plus you have Nexon badging, now
04:45 I wish that this Nexon badging was also finished in black, overall the car would look really
04:50 really nice because with this colour, I don't think chrome will suit the car, but anyway,
04:54 people will put chrome, so again you get a matte black bumper, you get silver finishing
04:59 on the scuff plate and you get this reverse light and this reflector that overall completes
05:05 the rear section.
05:06 Now, let's talk about the boot, so to open the boot, you have a request sensor that is
05:09 present over here, so after you open the boot, this is the boot space, you get a parcel tray
05:15 over here and there's some other luggage that is kept right now, so this has around 382
05:20 litres of boot space, which is pretty decent, as you can see, one cabin bag is already here,
05:24 two more cabin bags and I think you can squeeze in one more, if you remove this tray, then
05:28 you will have a lot of space, boot lid is not that heavy, thanks to the hydraulic struts,
05:34 so I think this completes the exterior of the Nexon and now let's quickly move on to
05:39 the inside and I'll tell you everything you need to know about the interiors of the new
05:43 Nexon.
05:44 So now, let us start off with the rear section and as you can see over here, that for reference,
06:01 my height is 6'1" and the seat is adjusted according to my height, well, you can see
06:06 that I have a slight issue with the knee room and leg room is obviously, I mean, it's decent,
06:13 it's not bad, but yeah, there is a lack of knee room over here for, I think, tall people
06:17 and as you can see over here, the under-thigh support is a little less, overall, the seating
06:22 comfort is fine, you're sitting upright, you have adjustable headrests over here on
06:25 either end, let me just, yes, you can see over here, so this headrest, you can adjust
06:31 and if you are four people travelling, you can just deploy this, again, you have two
06:35 cup holders over here, soft touch material and as you can see that the theme of the colour
06:39 that's on the outside also continues on the inside, on the seats, on the dashboard, everywhere,
06:44 so yeah, pretty good looking interior, I would say, soft touch materials everywhere on the
06:48 door, on, I mean, on the door panels, you have soft touch material everywhere in this
06:55 car.
06:55 Well, overall, feature-wise, you have this AC vent, that's about it, there's a single
07:01 zone climate control, you also have a Type A and a Type C charging socket and I think
07:05 that's about it, a couple of 12V charging sockets at the back and you have only two
07:10 headrests, indicating that only two people can sit here, I mean, obviously, third person
07:13 can sit, but, I mean, you'll have to be either, like, short people or narrow people because,
07:18 I mean, people of my size, I think only two people will be able to sit comfortably.
07:21 Overall, headroom is pretty decent, as you can see over here, since the sunroof is over
07:26 here, so you can see that the roof slopes back up over here, so, I mean, for me, I have
07:32 decent amount of headroom, but if I slightly sit like this, I mean, you can see that my
07:37 head is touching, but over here, there is no problem.
07:40 So, overall, comfort-wise, it's fine, space-wise, I think for tall people, it might be an issue,
07:45 but everything over here, that includes the fit and finish quality, is excellent.
07:49 So now let's move on to the front section because I've got a lot to tell you about that.
07:52 So, now, getting on to the front end, after getting, let me just switch on the car, so,
08:05 I'd like to show you, this is the key fob to the new Nexon and, I mean, it is pretty
08:13 much the same as you had it in the older generation ones.
08:17 So, coming over here, let the car just start up and as you can see over here, you have
08:22 a beautiful 360-degree camera, very clean camera, you can select and see whatever is
08:30 going on on the left and on the right, you have a 2D mode, you have a 3D mode over here,
08:34 this 3D mode is really, really fantastic, if you press on either side, you will see
08:38 what is going on and you actually see these kind of features in high-end cars, but overall,
08:43 it's pretty clear, the quality is absolutely amazing.
08:46 Now, so, this is how the front section of the Nexon looks like, I mean, you only tell
08:51 me in the comment section that whether this looks absolutely fantastic or no, so, this
08:55 is my height and my driving position, very first thing you'll see is this all new steering
09:01 wheel that you get over here, now, the steering wheel is a two-spoke steering wheel, it looks
09:05 like a gaming console and if you notice over here, the Tata logo is actually backlit, now,
09:11 let me do one thing, let me switch off the car, so, you can see that the logo has gone
09:14 off and when I switch it on, you can see that the logo illuminate and that is a very good
09:20 feature, well, the horn is pretty decent, you will get very confused where to press,
09:25 but yeah, overall, this, you can basically use the horn through this entire section and
09:29 you have your steering motor controls on either side, it looks really good, you have this
09:33 flat bottom steering wheel, you have some amount of this purple finishing on the steering
09:37 wheel as well and if you see the dashboard, now, the dashboard design, the layout is new,
09:43 it's completely changed, you've got soft touch material over here, I think this is
09:47 hard plastic, but you also get some finishing, it may, from far off, it might look like carbon
09:52 fibre, but this is not carbon fibre, you have some element finishing over here, the AC vents
09:56 are now horizontal, there is no bezel around the AC vents as well, you get some brushed
10:01 aluminium finish as you can see over here on the AC vents, on the knobs as well and
10:07 just below that, you have this touch sensor for the climate control, so you can adjust
10:15 the blower speed from here, you can adjust the temperature, these are all the buttons,
10:19 so if you just, these are touch, I mean, these are actually touch, they are not physical
10:23 buttons, so for example, if you wanna open the boot or if you wanna access anything,
10:28 so yeah, I mean, this, you can just touch it and this will happen, so the gear knob
10:32 you see over here is again completely new, you again see this on high-end cars, but you
10:38 have some charging options over here, you have Type A, Type C and a 12V charging socket,
10:41 this is your mode selector and you have a wireless charger as well, now you can see
10:46 that my phone actually fits perfectly with this, now since the wireless charger is not
10:50 working because the door is open right now, you get a manual handbrake and you get ventilated
10:56 seats, where is it, ah, here, you can see you get ventilated seats for the front two
11:00 seats, I mean, obviously, the rear seat also looks like it gets ventilated seat, but I
11:05 mean, the front two seats are only ventilated, you have a couple of options over there for
11:09 your ventilation and coming to the seat over here, you can see that the seat, again, fit
11:15 and finish quality is awesome, you get these plastic elements on the seat as well, I don't
11:19 know why, but yeah, this looks cool, you have a two-tone interior with the seat and the
11:23 interior and you can see you have a sunroof, I mean, it's a pretty narrow sunroof, I mean,
11:29 you have a sunroof, it's like this big, but yeah, it has a sunroof, plus, you have this
11:34 SOS feature over here, you can operate your sunroof and your lights over here, these are
11:40 your LED cabin lights, you get an auto-dimming IRVM over here and now coming to this, this
11:48 what you see over here is the all-new touchscreen infotainment system, it's a 10.25-inch infotainment
11:55 system and the touch is actually very nice and you have a lot of features that you can,
12:01 I mean, you can connect your phone, you also have voice command features in over 200 voice
12:06 commands in six different languages, I mean, yeah, if you want to open the sunroof, if
12:10 you want to increase the temperature, change your music, I mean, you have to sit and explore,
12:15 I mean, there is a lot to explore, but this infotainment system is actually nice, it's
12:20 kind of a floating screen, has got a very less bezel to it, so it gives that premium
12:24 feel to that car, plus if you talk about the second screen, that is again a 10.25-inch,
12:30 that's the instrument cluster, fully digital instrument cluster and you have a lot of information
12:35 that is given out by this cluster, so you can customise the cluster according to your
12:40 need and if you notice that the cluster also has the same kind of theme like the interior
12:45 and the exterior as well, so overall guys, the seat, the driver's seat is height-adjusted,
12:51 both seats are manual and again, the refresh design of the Nexon looks fabulous, you have
12:58 a nine-speaker setup from JBL that includes a subwoofer as well, so I mean, Tata is well
13:04 known for their sound system because obviously the JBL sound system sounded actually too
13:09 good, so but this has got an updated version of it, so it is just fantastic, you also have
13:14 an aircon, that is an air purifier in the car, so it keeps on telling you what is the
13:18 air quality within the cabin or outside the cabin, so overall guys, comment below how
13:24 did you like the interior, especially the front end because the steering wheel, everything
13:28 has actually changed, so now let's quickly drive the car and I'll tell you how the all-new
13:34 Nexon is to drive.
13:35 So now we have the driving seat of the all-new Nexon and let me tell you a quick engine brief
13:45 about this car, so this new Nexon will be available in again, two engine options, that
13:50 is the petrol and the diesel variant, now the petrol is a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine,
13:57 that's a three-cylinder and the diesel is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, now there
14:02 are four gearbox options, so the one we are driving today is the DCA or the dual-clutch
14:08 transmission, so you have a five-speed manual, you have a six-speed manual, you have a DCT,
14:14 that's a dual-clutch transmission and you have an AMT, now the dual-clutch transmission
14:18 will only be available with the petrol, that's the turbo petrol variant and that is what
14:23 we are driving today, so as far as the power figure goes, the petrol variant produces around
14:29 120bhp and 170nm of peak torque, it's weighted to either a manual transmission or the AMT,
14:35 I mean actually the petrol one comes with all the transmission option, the diesel one
14:40 produces around 115bhp of power and 260nm of peak torque, obviously the torque output
14:47 is higher on the diesel variant and the diesel is only available with two gearbox options,
14:51 that is the manual and the AMT gearbox.
14:54 Now as far as the power figures on the turbo petrol one, so we'll be talking about this
14:58 today since we are driving this, the diesel one we will be getting later, so the power
15:03 figures on this as mentioned are 120 and 170, that's 120bhp, 170nm of peak torque and that
15:10 is pretty decent, I mean for a car of this size, acceleration is linear at the start
15:15 but suddenly when the boost kicks in is when you will have that sudden surge of power and
15:21 that will like push you back in the seat, so let me just get a quick open stretch, so
15:26 I can demonstrate that and other than that, it has got a very decent mid-range and a good
15:33 top end, so the initial acceleration is just linear and with that you have three driving
15:38 modes, you have eco, you have city, you have sport, so right now we are in sport mode and
15:43 I am doing 30km/hr and I am at B3, so once I floor it, you'll see that it shifts to B2,
15:51 shift line is around 6500rpm and after that the car becomes really really peppy, overall
15:59 power delivery is nice, the throttle response and the throttle response changes with the
16:04 mode, so in eco you have a very soft kind of throttle response, in sport mode you have
16:09 a very aggressive throttle response, so I mean that thing changes as you change the
16:13 mode, rest everything remains the same, the steering wheel feels light, I mean it's on
16:17 the lighter side, it has a good feel, a good grip to it, also the steering response is
16:22 also nice, now if you couple that with the suspension, set up now the suspension on the
16:27 next one as you can see, there are some undulations on the road and it is taking them really nicely,
16:32 it has a soft suspension setup, because of that it has a little amount of body roll as
16:37 well, but since it's a big car, it's a huge car, so some amount of body roll can be there,
16:43 it cannot be ignored, but on the contrary, due to the soft suspension setup, you get
16:48 a very comfortable and a plush ride, so overall it, like right now we are on very good tarmac,
16:54 you can see that, I mean the car is just rolling smoothly, the gears, since this is a dual
17:00 clutch transmission, so the gears shift, I mean very quickly, compared to the regular
17:05 AMT one, so because it's a dual clutch transmission or a DCA is what Tata likes to call it, other
17:12 than that guys, I mean, it is a fun car, especially I mean it's an eye catcher in this colour,
17:17 people have stopped us on the road asking about this colour, whether this colour will
17:21 be more expensive than the regular colours available with the Nexon, but overall I would
17:26 say, I mean, looks wise, drivability wise, this car is just awesome, I mean the Nexon
17:32 was a very big hit in the market, but overall, getting that all new Nexon with all the features
17:40 on the exterior, on the interior, it is just awesome and one more thing, this also gets
17:44 paddle shifters, so the dual clutch transmission also get paddle shifters, just in case you
17:47 wanna move to manual shifting, so you will be able to do that with the help of paddle
17:52 shifters, there is no designated manual mode with the gearbox, you just have PR, N and
17:58 D, there's one more hum coming up and I mean it just glides over it, NVH levels are also
18:05 very nice, they have been improved, but post 4500 RPM is what we feel is when the noise
18:13 starts entering the cabin, but it is not too much, so it won't bother you that much.
18:19 Let's now talk about the safety features, so the new Nexon gets six airbags as standard
18:24 from the base variant to the top variant, which is a really really nice thing and apart
18:30 from that, you have ISOFIX, you have ABS, you have body control, you have electronic
18:34 body stability, I mean, whatever you need, so the Nexon set the benchmark for the safest
18:39 car back in 2017 when it was launched and I mean, this thing will definitely carry on
18:46 the legacy, so yeah guys, if you are looking for a car that is feature loaded, that looks
18:51 good, has features on the exterior, interior, has got everything, has got you covered, so
18:56 you can go definitely check out the all new Tata Nexon.
