Mga driver at operator, hiling na pabilisin ang P2.5-B fuel subsidy
Transcript
00:00 Operators and drivers of public vehicles are getting angry because of the low income.
00:05 This is because of the constant cancellation of classes that is accompanied by the unceasing increase in the price of oil.
00:12 So they are asking for the most anticipated help.
00:17 Karen Villanda has the report.
00:19 The school year has started but the income of Noel is still low because of the constant cancellation of classes.
00:29 He says that he is only now able to recover from the accident.
00:32 But it's not a big deal because the price of diesel is high every week.
00:35 So he is asking for a fuel subsidy.
00:39 I hope I can taste it so I can fill up my jeep.
00:43 It's huge. 50% of the fuel is gone.
00:47 I used to charge 500 pesos but instead of funding it, it's not funding it now.
00:53 According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board,
00:56 the Joint Memorandum Circular for the fuel subsidy has been signed.
01:00 The distribution of the fuel subsidy should have been established in August.
01:03 But there are still requirements, so the Department of Budget and Management has not yet been able to download the 2.5 billion pesos from the agency's fund.
01:11 But now it's complete.
01:13 The assistance to the operators of public transportation is almost ready to be distributed.
01:18 We will download the funds immediately. We always ask the Department of the LTFRB to implement the distribution of the fuel subsidy as soon as possible.
01:36 So we will only download the funds.
01:40 According to the LTFRB, there are 1.3 million operator drivers of public transportation as beneficiaries.
01:48 6,500 pesos for the traditional jeep, each unit, and other four-wheeled public utility vehicles.
01:55 10,000 pesos for modern jeeps because their operational costs are higher.
02:00 1,000 pesos for tricycle drivers and 1,200 pesos for food delivery riders.
02:05 According to the LTFRB, the fuel subsidy of the operators can be received through Pantawid Pasada Card,
02:12 over-the-counter or through e-wallet.
02:15 But the LTFRB said that it should be used only for diesel.
02:20 We are monitoring it. If there is an issue with the undertaking of our operators, they will use it for the purpose of the program.
02:32 They will use it for fueling their units.
02:38 So the drivers, or anyone who has complaints that the operators and the units did not use,
02:46 they can go to the LTFRB automatically to file a complaint.
02:52 The LTFRB will issue a notice to qualified operators and drivers when they receive the funds for the fuel subsidy.
03:00 Karen Villanda for the Morning Show of the Philippines.
