Tiniyak ng Taiwan ang kaligtasan ng libo-libong overseas Filipino workers doon sa gitna ng tensyon sa pagitan ng Taiwan at China. Ito ang binigyang diin ng Manila Economic and Cultural Office o MECO.

Nakahanda rin daw ang contigency plans ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas.
